Memories With Linda At A La Carte

Oh my goodness! I have been soooo good! All week long I looked in awe at that bottle swap full of wonderful gifts from Linda at http://ljm-alacarte.blogspot.com/. She wrote a beautiful card frilly with three different photos of her mom. She is Virgie, this soon to be 80 years young mother raised up Linda to be a marvelous wonderful woman with a kindness and caring that is not always something we find in folks. Linda's mom loved lots of wonderful things and I am still swooning over the contents of my bottle!

The favorites recipes touched my heart. Oh my goodness, someone sharing their family favorites with  me! I was honored Linda! Miss Virgie is one talented gal. A sewer and quilter  and girl scout leader. This woman traveled the world with her hubby as he was a military man. Look how cute the pictures are! I love them! My yummy morning coffee here is also a favorite of Virgie's! She has a peanut allergy but loves turtles with pecans! DeMets! I will savory them!

Born in Texas and still living there today I have a Texas key chain and postcard! Thanks Linda! The card can go to my postcard exchange! Three cheers for the state of Texas! My mom was an avid bowler and I wish I could have salvaged the pretty paper with the bowling motif! My own mom would have gotten a kick out of that! You can look through my pictures and see all the talents that lie in this powerhouse lady named Virgie!

The kitchen gadgets and love for animals, particularly fuzzy kitties and her love for helping others is just a small glimpse into the life of one remarkable lady. This woman gave up many of her loves to carefully and compassionately care for her husband when he became ill. Her sister was a breast cancer survivor and I am honored to have the beautiful red kerchief with the pink ribbon symbol shown here in my treasures.

My fun vintage items are such a kick! I can see Virgie wearing some of these beautiful rose clip on earrings to a USMC cocktail party with her hubby. I was tickled to receive all these wonderful items and I hope I did not miss anything here. I can always reflect with you if you need more details. I was honored that Linda created tags to add to each item. It was such a thoughtful way to share her mom with me.

I love everything here and I want to wish Linda and her lovely mom Virgie a heartful and happy Mother's Day today! Virgie, you made my heart a little lighter today because my own mom Cecilia went home to be with the Lord in  2001.
