Running with Prayer

I am sharing some running quotes with you tonight. Nick is gearing up for his 10k run in Wichita tonight. How I wish we could be there with him.

I worry for my young son. He is juggling his running with school and he is getting good grades but he enjoys the company of young ladies too! I want him to finish school before he gets seriously involved with anyone.
My son inspires me.  I think this quote applies to all aspects of our lives. Not just running!
Some days I feel like a wimp and some days I feel strong! This is another favorite quote.

As my son prepares to run his first 10k in college track and field I am sitting here feeling very proud of him and all he has accomplished.

Keep him and his team mates in your thoughts and prayers tonight and tomorrow.

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians  6:19-20

You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? Galatians 5:7

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. Colossians  3:23-24

An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything. 2 Timothy  2:5-7

Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9: 25-27

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1

Nick sent me a text! He ran a 34.06 in his first track and field 10K tonight! We are so proud of him!

All of your verses are such good ones to be reminded of. I'm sure you are already praying for the girl your son will someday marry. And aren't you proud that running is his hobby! Two of our sons are into it and I am often amazed when they hit the trails early in the morning before work. They're building endurance.

But I realize, you are a mother. I am too. We worry.

Love that he still has a strong desire to run and a passion for it. It's not easy to persevere but after the race is won, there is the feeling of accomplishment. Hope that he meets a girl who loves to run as much as he does.

Hmmm. Your boy sounds like a normal college kid. You've done a great job during his young life and now it is time to trust our Man in charge. HE can and will take care of him.♥♫
