Blue Monday/Love is...

Do you like the bodice on this blue dress? I love it and have been thinking about it for our 30th wedding anniversary May 3rd. Here is the back of it:
I am not sure what we will do for our anniversary. Nick graduates from Cowley in May. I am amazed at how quickly those two years flew by. He also hopes to be running at Nationals in NYC so it may conflict with the graduation. We will wait and see. My dream was Hawaii but currently we are short of cash to travel there. Sigh!
I could not resist! How about these cute little "purr"itos? I thought they were precious to share. Now tell Sally and the Blue Crew you saw these blues and check out theirs too.

                                                    sometimes doing silly things together.

Marydon  has been sharing her Love is...at Face Book. I hope you see them there too. This one was so appropriate because like most of the country we have been hit with snow. This snow is blue! Our snow is cold, frosty and white! I heard someone say this:
Actually they said, and I quote, "Antarctica called. They want their snow back!" Goodness even this little share is blue!
Before I sign off for the evening prayers please. Roman, a sweet little baby who belongs to our son Jeremy's friends was a preemie and he is ill quite often. Prayer for him please. Speaking of preemies our friend Janae had a preemie yesterday. His name is Austin and prayer is also welcome. Prayers for the phamily of the sheriff's deputy killed in a head on collision this weekend in Jefferson County. Prayers for the gentleman hit on his motorcycle Saturday. Our daughter and her hubby saw part of it and it shut down the highway as Flight for Life rushed him to the hospital. Due to the seriousness of his injuries he was sent to one of the many Level I Trauma centers in the Denver metro area. Pray for my hubby's brother. He was hospitalized yesterday for pneumonia. He is back here with us today but that is something that often gives you very little warning and knocks you off your feet. Pray for my hubby too. He spent several hours at the urgent care today. He had a delayed reaction to the antibiotic he was taking for his bronchitis and is now on a new series of meds. He is peacefully sleeping as I type this. The meds knocked him out cold about thirty minutes ago. Finally please pray for Nick and his team. They run at Lubbock, Texas in the Texas Tech Masked Raider Open January 31. Since Nick's goal is Nationals in NYC in May he is working hard to achieve his goal. He is about 13 seconds off his time to qualify for Nationals. Prayers please. Pray for the entire team that they all do well and they have a safe and eventful trip with lots of great qualifying times. I am so behind. I have a giveaway gift to get off to Pennsylvania. I have not had a minute extra to check my Face Book page as I am doing a Pay It Forward over there. Always fun. I may take my time getting my gifts out but I like to personalize them as much as I can. Hope Iggy sees this. I was so sick for the New Year it was hard to think about anything. I will catch up. Visit Sally and the Blues and Marydon too.
Snowy day from my work window. Antarctica please come take your snow back!

Love is..../Blue Monday

I like this Love is...growing old together! It has it's perks! Visit Marydon and tell her which Love is...you like best!
This brainy quote has a pretty blue sky. I thought it would look good at Sally's for Blue Monday! I also wanted to share this:
I know, I know, I am never a meanie but since both the Broncos and the Patriots wear blue I thought this was a great send off to the Super Bowl. I am very happy the Broncos are going there. It has been a long time coming. Ah, youth ....but both Manning and Brady have experience and are excellent QBs so someone had to win and someone had to lose. I heard a lot of talk about the youthful QBs today! I think ego got the best of Kaepernick. Just a personally observation, the way he pats his abs and kisses his throwing arm when he makes a TD! As for Russell Wilson, he also wears blue:
A classy QB and he has youth on his side. We will wait and see what the Super Bowl brings! May the best team win the big prize!

"I" is for Ireland

I am joining Ms. Jenny and the Alphabe Thursday gang for some fun with the letter I! My hubby has roots on his father's side of the phamily in Ireland. His great grandfather came from Ulster Providence. It is a glorious and very green country:
Ireland is the one country where my phamily would like to travel. We know a few natives so it makes it easier to plan for a dream vacation.
When I think of Ireland I always am reminded of my dear friend Bea and her trip to Ireland in 1983. I was a new employee at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and she was embarking on the trip of a lifetime. I was going to hold the fort down with Ginny our manager. Goodness, such terrific memories. Working with honest, ethical, hard working ladies who had kindness and respect for each other. Co workers like that are very rare in today's world!

This castle is quite beautiful. I love all the green around it along with the bright blue sky and  water. It looks heavenly. I am hopeful we will travel there some day.
There are two things I would like to bring home from a trip . Waterford crystal is one of them:
Some pretty flutes or
On the rocks glasses or
A compote bowl! Sigh
I would love to have a Cable Knit sweater from Ireland too! Many years ago there was a shop in Manitou Springs, Colorado called The Leprechaun Shoppe . My sister Mary and I spent many hours browsing in the little shoppe and we often used their wonderful lay-a-way plan they had. Two of the sweetest ladies ran the shoppe and they were so kind and dignified and treated all their customers with the utmost respect and gave incredible customer service. My sis and I use to buy all their music boxes and when I moved in 2001 those beautiful music boxes disappeared. So sad because I can never replace them.
I hope Jenny and Mr. Jenny can visit those grand littles in Ireland soon. Please stop by for a visit today.

Blue Monday/Love is..../Alphabe Thursday: Good Health/ Pink Saturday

Win or lose, God always provides the perfect sunset for a Denver Bronco game! Don't you love the orange and blue sky. This was the preview last night as the sun set. Please visit Sally and the Blues and share some blue. I have missed two weeks because of this horrible flu virus.
Say hi to Marydon and share a favorite Love is...The hubby and I have been doing a lot of this lately. He is recuperating from the effects of Tamiflu and the flu shot and bronchitis. He had a breathing treatment and steroids plus an antibiotic. I saw the doctor I work for, he gave me an antibiotic for my sinus issues. I was feeling better yesterday and today I feel blah again!
Welcome to my Alphabe Thursday post. It is also two weeks late. Visit Ms. Jenny and share your "H" post. I added my "G" post from last week here. I eat really healthy so it is hard to point the finger at this flu bug! I always get my flu shot and this year for some reason I never got it done. I have never had any adverse effects from the flu shot and have not had the flu in several years. I can not imagine it is any worse than taking these despicable drugs with multiply side effects!
I miss this! It has been so bitter cold and snowy and than the flu bug! Arghhh......I am waiting for some sunshine and bright blue skies so I can start out slowly with a nice brisk walk and lead back into running. I have not been sick like this in so long it is hard to take!
We eat lots of fruits and veggies. I need to get my strength back. It is hard having to go to work and it is always hard working with difficult people. I heard one younger woman I work with talking about her sister being bullied at school. Yet they act like bullies at work so please! Practice what you preach! It is hard to do a great job with mean people around. But I was rasied with honesty and integrity so do the very best that I can with what I have to work with!
I am blessed with a beautiful phamily and wonderful friends! I like all the blue in this pretty quote!
I think these pink hydrageas remind me of Spring! I heard there are 69 days til Spring!
I would like to sit here and daydream about Springtime and smell those pink roses and type a letter or a write a poem on that pretty pink typewriter! Ah.... I hope you visit Beverly and some Pinkies too!
Lots of prayer requests needed. Heather in Michigan, her dad is very ill. Jean a Face Book friend struggling with the effects of illness. Marietta, more chemo, more cancer. The state of west Virginia and all the polluted water they can not use. Angela, always optimistic although caught in the flooding and polluted WV water system. Pray for Kennadee who will have surgery on Friday. Continue to pray for Shannon, Linda's sister (Prairie Flower Farm). Prayers for Nick. Always good to pray for our young people. I always pray for his high school when I drive by it on my way to work each day. I pray for Nick and his track team mates and all the students who attend Cowley. College. Nick had a good run this weekend. He ran in the distance medley Friday with his team mates. They took second overall. He was the anchor and ran the mile in 4.38! On Saturday he ran 3k in 9.21. Pray about his knee. He had some therapy before he left for school last week. Pray the coaches remember these are kids not robots that run!

Have a wonderful week and I hope to visit you all soon. Thank you all those faithful folks who still visit me and a big shout out to Laura at Face Book, who gave me her homemade chicken soup recipe while I was struggling with this flu. My hubby made it and it really did help me feel better!

FLU BUG

I won't be blogging for a while. I had a horribly case of the flu and I am having a hard time getting my energy level back. Take care everyone!
