"Z"ipping Down the Highway and Wondering if "A"lamosa and "A"dams State "B"elong in Nick's Future

Come visit Sally and all the wonderful people who participate in Blue Monday. Then hop over to Facebook and say hi to Marydon (MD Middaugh) so you can share a favorite Love is...or two. I know the Blue Crew will spot lots of blue in my photos and images I am sharing. I am late today as the weekend got away from me. Lots of yard work and too short of a weekend. Look at this precious Love is...
We have a clothes line in our yard and I love it! There is nothing like sheets that have been dried by the sun and smelling as fresh as a bouquet of Spring flowers!

We took a quick trip to Southwestern Kansas two weeks ago. Nick was finished with his second year of college and we went to Ark City to collect Nick and his things. The weather was good and we were glad we did not run into any big storms.
This was the return trip. Thirty four miles from home. It is wonderful to go on the road and more wonderful to come home again.
Traveling to Kansas we enjoyed the Colorado morning sky. It is so peaceful and quiet and when the sun starts to rise you have to smile.
Nick and his dad, my honey, saying goodbye to the Cowley College campus. Nick made some wonderful friends and will miss them as he journeys on to a new college.

Cowley runners 2012-13. Nick enjoyed meeting so many wonderful new friends.
Cowley Middle Distance runners enjoying some good grub before a race. Many memories.
Alamosa, Colorado. Three hours and thirty seven minutes from our home. Sigh! Love those mountains standing tall
The campus of Adams State College. Nick has looked into this fine school for 2013-14.

We will be heading in the oppose direction of Kansas if we see Nick head to Alamosa. He really loves OSU in Oklahoma where a good friend is going.  But unless a hefty scholarship comes his way he has to navigate the system and get the very best deal he can. In state tuition is always very reasonable. We will pray about it and see what happens.
I shared my late "Z" post, zipping down the highway here with my "A" post, lots of A's including Alamosa, Adams State College, and Ark City, Kansas. I hope you wish Ms.Jenny good health and say a prayer for her to get back to her old self soon. Visit some of the wonderful folks who share their  stories with us here as well as poetry, photos and lots of fun. Let's hope that a Colorado college will be the "Best" deal in Nick's future. Colorado "belongs" in our hearts as all of us in the phamily are Colorado natives. Let me add my "B" contribution to this delayed post.

A perfect "B" quote. Someday's I feel broken. Not in my home life but in my work place. I spend a great deal of time praying. It is the closeness with the Lord that I love. This world is fleeting. But God is forever and it is something that keeps me on an even balance.
This is a good way to look at life. Some people are true blessings. Others are lessons. Those lessons are often hard to take!

So I am going to zip away and hope you learned a little about Alamosa, Colorado and Adams State College as well as blessings and brokeness.

Gosh, it seems like yesterday when Nick was beginning his freshman year! What sweet memories he's taking with him!

Thanks for including the visual aids for those of us (me!) who've forgotten their geography! :) Looking at those average temps, I'm convinced that's the 'almost Heaven' John Denver was really singing about, not West Virginia!

and those are some good quotes. thanks for sharing.

wonderful combination of letter posts. Like the Z zipping down the highway. The quote is great too sometimes I feel so broken. I'd love to use it. Thanks for stopping by to see my "Backs". I think I remember you from before. Did you change your background. I like the purple.
Thanks for coming by. I will follow you so I can remember to come back.
Blessings,
Sherry

So many tough decisions. I hope he is able to find a good college close to home. I generally feel broken at work. Wish I could just farm full time.

Hi Anne
Your post really resonated with me as my daughter has just finished her college exchange at NYU. Unlike the lucky Nick she has travelled solo from the East coast to the West coast, the airline charging her for excess baggage of course, maybe you should send NIck the bills for expenses - ha ha !!
Your quotes are wonderful, enjoy being back together again for a while.

Hi thanks for following me. We got to live in Boulder for a mere 6 months. I loved. The family not so much. It was Dec.7th to June. The cold was hard on the kids. They didn't get to ride horses as much as they wanted. They did get to do a couple of shows at a barn in Boulder and one in Longmont. The Cowboy and I always wanted to live in Colo.
God answered that prayer. Thanks for asking.
Have a wonderful night.

Oh, I LOVE this quote: "Some people are true blessings. Others are lessons. Those lessons are often hard to take!" That's so true! And I love the photo of the Colorado morning sky. I've never seen it and I've never been to Kansas (just to some places in California, Utah, Arizona, Florida, in Memphis and in New Orleans) but may be one day?
Hugs from Austria & thanks for your nice words to my P.S.-post, Traude

Wow, the photo of the mountains is just beautiful. I wish your son much luck with his new school. I have family in Colorado and they love it. I also loved your photo of the flag against the blue sky. Just beautiful!

We are enjoying a few very warm and sunny days here. I've been so cold lately, and this heat has really warmed me up nicely. It also brought the mosquitos out, so we can't stay outdoors for too long. I'll have to pick up some spray to protect us (me and Pogo). You have a great day, hugs, Edna B.

What an adventure you all have been on!

I love the broken quote, Anne.

It was so neat to see your sweeties in the picture. Neat to know I've met them in person!

Thanks for a beautiful link for the letter "B".

I hope you're finding some breathing space there with everything going on!

Hugs and A++++

Hi Anne,

Love your sunset photographs, and the lovely mountains of Colorado. I hope Nick gets into the college there. It sounds like it might be a bit of a home-coming for you all if he does. It's such a beautiful, beautiful part of the world. I have happy memories of holidaying there, skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer: a truly glorious corner of God's good earth! All the best, Bonny

I'm keeping Jenny in my thoughts and prayers. What a lovely lady and so very talented...definitely want her well soon! Thinking of you and yours as well...have a great summer, and thanks for stopping by and checking on my garden. I'll save you some squash!

I lived in Denver 6 years, my oldest daughter was born there. The mountains were wonderful. Thanks for the photos, they stir up some old memories of travel there. I hope Nick finds the right college. Making a living is such a challenge for young people now. It seems we all have some brokenness, but God can heal and even do good things in us through it.

Your photos are really awesome. I try to tell people here in New Zealand how flat Kansas is, but they just can't comprehend it. :)
