Love is.../Blue Monday

My hubby does not need glasses except to read. I was practically born wearing them.  I started wearing glasses in the fourth grade. Poor sight, terribly near-sighted. So Friday my hubby too the day off and we saw the eye doctor for our annual eye exams. I need new glasses, surprise, surprise! But my honey will need a cataract surgery on his left eye. He had the right done about three years ago. This is a new doctor, as our previous one retired. The retired doctor had been an Air Force pilot. You can imagine we enjoyed seeing him (no pun intended) LOL! So tomorrow I will venture out and look for new frames and get those new glasses soon. My honey has the next two days off and we have snow so it will be great fun having a few more days together.

Here was the sky on our way to church today.
Coming home it looked like this and it was cold and getting ready to snow.
Our Sunday service at RedRocksChurch is held at Heritage Square. It had been a glorious amusement park. One of those fun filled family places where many good memories have been made. Sadly, we have heard it is closing at the end of 2015. This photo of the music hall was pulled from google images and oh what fun we had there! We saw many fun music productions there and sadly it closed last year.
These Victorian buildings are so beautiful and the shoppes they once held were filled with lots of fun for the kids and for adults too.
This is my shot of the Music Hall. Sigh!
The sweet little carousel was at the entrance of the park. I wonder what they will do with it now. Thank you google image.
Another image of the entrance to the park. I put these photos up so Sally and the Blue Crew would spot the blue in each photo for Blue Monday today!
My shot of the carousel when we were leaving church today.
My shot of the Heritage Square Entryway as we left our church service today. Our church uses many of the smaller Victorian buildings on the Main Street for the Children's Ministry! I hope we don't have to move after the park closes.
Lots of activities when the park was in full swing.
The Alpine Side was quite an attraction for the youngster.

This will be a sad time to see this lovely village filled with colorful Victorian buildings  close. I hope someone steps forward and buys it and  revitalizes it soon. I also hope our church will continue to hold our Sunday services there. It is beautifully located in the foothills of Golden, Colorado.

I've been wearing glasses since second grade!
I was also sad to hear that Heritage Square is closing, Anne! I have not had the chance to visit it as yet, and I hope to take my grandchildren there this summer.

Beautiful village - I do hope someone will be able to save the buildings and give new life to the place!

Hi Anne,

That snow filled sky looks foreboding. Stay warm!

It's sad when things close; I do hope there's some one who can save the village.

Happy Blue Monday!

Trust the snow stays up there, but it's very cold and windy. Possible more tonight. I had eye surgery last year, but one of my eyes is just not right. Been back all am going to. Later this year, will try somewhere else. Stay warm

Oh, that sky looks ominous! I had glasses since I was 11, and looking for frames is the fun part:) Can't wait to see your new look!

I'd not heard of Heritage Square before, Anne ... but it saddens me to hear of their fate.

It's probably been 30 years since I had to start wearing glasses/contacts. Boy, what a blow to my ego. Despite both my parents dependence on bifocals and trifocals, I think I thought I'd be immune. And sure enough, almost every year I go back I have to get a stronger Rx.

Hope you and hubby are enjoying a great long weekend!

Well Anne, that is a blue story. It is always sad to see things close, especially when they used to be so full of life.

So sorry that the park is closed.. Sounds like you all really enjoyed it at one time.. It's always sad to see places like this close...

Hope your hubby does fine with his cataract surgery. It's so much simpler these days to have that surgery than it used to be. Hope you will like your new glasses. Hubby recently had to get some new ones also.

Hugs,
Betsy
