More Wedding Shares and Fun with Books

Rebekah, our newlywed daughter loves books. She devours them and has her entire life. When her dad loaded a boxful of children's book to take to the thrift store last summer she cried, why would you give away our childhood? Needless to say, those books are still in our home and the home of our oldest daughter and son too. We are the book people. My hubby has a copy of the Bruce Lee treasure he has carried with him since he was on his own, a long time ago. It is a book written by Bruce Lee outlining the JeKuneDo that he practiced. I have Golden Books and Mercer Mayer books although recently I parted with some Mayer books for Jeremy's little phamily. With Baby Boy coming to us in March 2018, I wanted Jeremy to share his favorite childhood books with Addy and the new baby. A Mercer Mayer book was the very first book our oldest son read to me when he was a small boy in school. It seems like that was yesterday.
I have a stack of winter books I am reading. I am a simple reader, I love the likes of Jan Karon, Debbie Macomber, Raeann Thayne and Nicholas Sparks. Oh there are others too, but off the top of my head, you will always find them in my reading pile.
I have run into some excellent reading at the Dollar Tree. They often have a mishmash of books from all sorts of authors and I have come across some remarkably wonderful books for one dollar each. My niece tells me, at home, there is a thrift store who sells children's books for 28 cents a piece. Do you have a favorite author? Do you have a favorite children's book? Share your thoughts here please. My hubby once found the most exquisite bible in the thrift store for a few dollars. I have searched everywhere and am still searching for that bible. I want it. It is a terrific study and just a remarkable version of the Good Book.
The wedding, December 2, 2017 was perfect in everyway. Rebekah enlisted the help of Facebook and social media and a site called Recycle Weddings to get info and start searching for vendors, 57 days before her big event. She would not buy a wedding dress unless it had her dad's stamp of approval. He was a little sad at first, thinking she should have gotten the more expensive gown she loved. But she choose the simple classic one and once the bridal consultant added the sparkly belt, Wow!
Happiness...Love...Joy...these two kids have it all.
Wise words regarding marriage and a start to a brand new beginning.

Stars of the wedding. She loves to dance, he is learning to love it too.
Aweet Christal and Alex and the new bride. I love my phamily. We are growing each year and I love it so much.
Alexis and her grandpa Roger, my first son-in-law.
My pretty sis and my pretty middle as the blushing bride.
I love this image. It reminds, first of all, of my sweet mother. As a little girl she told me she and her sisters lined up on Saturday night and their daddy turned on the radio and they would take turns dancing with him. What a beautiful memory she carried in her heart her entire life.
Noelle and number one son Andrew. The wedding brought almost all of us together. Plus my girl loves her jewelry and always looks lovely wearing her Premier Designs.
Zach's twin sister Alexa and their dad Craig.
If I am duplicating photos, I do apologize. There are so many to share. Rebekah had the most elegant wedding gown. The bridal consultant put that sparkly belt on her and it made her feel and look like an absolute princess,
Karla and Noelle and bunny ears for Noelle. I wonder who that could be?
The wedding car. It was filled with balloons.  These kids spent a few nights at a local hotel. They are taking their dream honeymoon to Hawaii in 2018.
Noelle and I shared a selfie on our way to the Buff to have breakfast with our Pueblo Phamily. It is the best to eat in the Buff! You can even buy a t shirt with that saying on it. Their food is fresh and having some extra time to visit with loved ones is always a plus. The Buff will serve you a Mimosa or a Bloody Mary too for 99 cents! Plus you are smack in the middle of the foothills of Boulder, Colorado.
The dance floor was so wonderful. It was jammed with dancers all night long. As I said earlier, these kids found the most excellent vendors including the dance floor folks and the DJ who played so much music all night long. It was such a blessing. The videographer was getting some getting shots behind the couple too.
Jeremy's long time friend and another one of my extra children, Cameron "the Bird", enjoying the wedding festivities.
Contemplating the walk down the aisle. Miss Avril is getting ready for a new brother to join her very soon.
These two are so cute together.
My niece Mary flew in from California to be with us for the wedding. It was such a delightful surprise.
My phamily, my nephew Troy, our son Nick, nephew Ryan and nephew Matt. I love these guys so much.
Harrison was not in this sweet photo with his mom and dad and grands. He was tired from the church ceremony and had so much fun welcoming in the wedding party that his other grammie Lisa took him home. He is such a character and developing one of the most unique personalities. But them all my grands are unique and we love each one for him/her self.
God designed each one of us. There is no carbon copy. no duplicate, we are unique in our own way.
Markus, who Noelle says is her bonus son, our Nick and my son-in-law Roger. Just three guys getting ready for the big wedding say. God gave us a beautiful sun filled day and everything went over beautifully, no problems. My hubby says God wasn't going to forget us on December 2, 2017. We are most grateful.
I am grateful for a good marriage. My brother Bill and his Joyce were married 54 years this past July. Of course, they lasted the longest on the dance floor too when asked if anyone was married more than 40 years! I was their flower girl. Wow! Time really does have wings.
I truly believe this. I am forever hanging on to Jesus and my honey. We like a tornado and a calm. I am the wild ride, he is the calm and logical one. I spend much prayer time praying for more peace and calm.
As a child, seeing these words on my parents church marriage certificate, I wondered how one could possibly do that. But I saw it daily with my parents. Hanging on to each other and Jesus was their balance. I do the same thing in my marriage and it works, it really does!
Our pretty little, Hannah. She was a beautiful maid of honor for her sister.

A serene moment for Avril, She wore blue shoes, just like the bride.
This is what I need. I go a 100 miles an hour and then I have to force myself to stop. Too much to accomplish, so little time. Love is...why do you know what I need each day?
I will return. Hopefully we will have photos from the photographer soon. Thank you for stopping by and visit Pink Saturday. Have a wonderful weekend. Hoping to draw a second winner in my tea time giveaway. Don't be shy, come on over and join the fun. I hope it will arrive by CHRISTmas too.

I enjoyed your sharing your family's wedding celebration. So many wonderful pictures - I love the shot of the flower girl (already forgot her name - I'm old, forgive me!) sitting and waiting for her cue. A classic photo, for sure!

I got a twinge of nostalgia, remembering my little sister dancing on my father's feet when she was little. I was just young enough to not realize what was really happening and recall being impressed what a good dancer little Sandra was! LOL

Thanks for your share - and, Happy Pink Saturday!

Pulling out of the parking lot at work last eve ... and this morning, too ... I couldn't get Rebekah's words out of my head: Why would you give away our childhood.
Oh! ... to be so blessed to have a child who loves books! Don't get me wrong; I love my son and grands to pieces, but none seem overly interested. Sigh.

Your phamily pictures and tales always cheer me up ... thank you!
