Wordless Wednesday

#My-worded-to-do-List -for-today

Happy Tuesday

Happy Tuesday

Being shell-shocked by people speaking without thinking.  It sometimes feels hard to find happiness. But my home is my happy place. I will start there.

Theses little Scripture verses are very important to me. But the Joshua 24:15 "as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." is something I read daily because I Mean it when I say I will serve the Lord.

I met a blogger who I have followed but rarely commented at her blog. Not physically but we felt the same way on some things and she told me she would pray for my friends little girls.

Ollie and Edie are Down's Syndrome girls. Due to their DS they can not take the jab. But at school their teacher is very unaccomodating and it is  frustrating for the parents and a nightmare for these girls. One has a heart condition, so she should not be forced into wearing a mask all day long. The little one was born in a different country and she already has speech issues  Plus she is super quiet and becomes very frustrated when the teacher can not understand or hear her with the mask on.  I won't comment on the teacher, but ask for prayer for all three of them.Children should be happy and not forced into demands of the world. Unless you understand that, your treatment of them is not very kind or considerate. These girls should be happy. I was a very happy child, but times were not stressful and I went to a school where the children stuck together in difficulties. We never let anyone fall through the cracks because we were raised better. We did not bully each other and we learned wisely from the way we were raised up. Prayers for these precious girls and their teacher is graciously asked by their parents.

Happiness is a cat who has no worries

I love all the things I have that are in arms reach and I enjoy the solitude of my home when everyone else is working. My greatest frustration is rounding up dogs to come inside when the 90 temps are baking the ground we walk on.

I love reading the weather predictions from the Old Farmers Almanac. They predict a huge blizzard for Colorado in the third week of January 2022. One of the local news channels said it is a big joke. They must live in a hole somewhere because the Farmers Almanac is right on for so many of their predictions. These are the same people who can't prediction the weather properly on any given day. I will trust a farmer any day over a weather person!

And on the eighth day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, “I need a caretaker.” So God made a farmer. God said, “I need somebody willing to get up before dawn, milk cows, work all day in the fields, milk cows again, eat supper, then go to town and stay past midnight at a meeting of the school board.” So God made a farmer.
God said, “I need somebody willing to sit up all night with a newborn colt and watch it die, and dry his eyes and say, ‘Maybe next year.’ I need somebody who can shape an ax handle from a persimmon sprout, shoe a horse with a hunk of car tire, who can make harness out of haywire, feed sacks, and shoe scraps. Who planting time and harvest season will finish his 40-hour week by Tuesday noon and then, painin ’from tractor back, put in another 72 hours.” So God made a farmer.
God said, “I need somebody strong enough to clear trees and heave bales, yet gentle enough to yean lambs and wean pigs and tend the pink-combed pullets, who will stop his mower for an hour to splint the broken leg of a meadow lark.” So God made a farmer.
It had to be somebody who’d plow deep and straight and not cut corners. Somebody to seed, weed, feed, breed, and brake, and disk, and plow, and plant, and tie the fleece and strain the milk. Somebody who’d bale a family together with the soft, strong bonds of sharing. Who would laugh, and then sigh, and then reply with smiling eyes, when his son says that he wants to spend his life doing what dad does.
 So God made a farmer.

Maxine always has an opinion. This one is true.

Aw....Mondays

 Aw...Mondays

A small boy who turned two years old. Time flies by so quickly, you can hardly catch your breathe. I enjoy these moments,

I love God, my phamily and my world I privately live in. I take nothing for granted but know difficult times are in store for us. Kepe those memories tucked away. Yoiu will need them.

I will forever cherish this small boy with a blue guitar laughing and running and playing and singing "Happy Birthday to Me", I beleive being 2 is the only time you can be selfish and sing to yourself.

I cherish my loved ones and I am grateful for my upbringing and the fact that Jesus has become the center of my life. I fought him for many years, always thinking life was doable my way. well, it never is.

I am grateful I had that mother who reminded me that life is hard and I should pray harder.

Grateful a father loved me so much he shared all the good and bad in this world. You can can not hide behind anything or anyone. You have to stand up tall and stand for something. I pray many come together and stand in faith. Times will become hard and many are not prepared. I Pray for the world, for our country and my phamily. Life is hard, I am going to continue to pray harder.

Sometime it is hard to find the words. Other times it feels like the right thing to do. Love is...has made me smile since I was a young girl. I gave these little Love is...notes to my husband everyday for years when we were dating and as newlyweds. We still have them taped to construction paper. The newspapers use to print them in the comics. If you know Kim Casli's life story, you might be surprised or even shocked by it. But she lived her life as she felt best. This sums it up the best:

Feline Friday and Pink Saturday

Now if I tried to sleep like this, I would need an ambulance.  My legs would be sound asleep and I would be falling off the couch. HaHaHa....I used another similar photo at my other blog but this one as a better shadow behind him. What a life. just needing food and water and love and attention. A good life. Stop by and say hi to Feline Friday

"When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases: but the righteous shall see their fall. " Proverbs 29:16

1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 "For they themselves report about us as to the kind of reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven whom He raised from the dead, that is, Jesus who rescues us from the wrath to come. "

I can sleep soundly tonight because I know who holds my future.

All the sadness in this world just makes me pray harder.  To all those that have lost loved ones, God knows your sorrow and Jesus will hold you close to Him.  I can pray and I can learn about your loved one and what they meant to you.

Pink SaturdayAll those beautiful souls taken away in all the violence in the Middle East. All those loved ones lost, everyday here and everywhere in our world. Here is a pink butterfly. Perhaps someone will see it and think of their loved one who has gone before them.  I am reminded of my grandmother's words, "God always takes the good ones." Scripture: Heed the Warning

 Matthew 24:6-14

And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pains.

“Then they will hand you over to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 And at that time many will [a]fall away, and they will [b]betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will rise up and [c]mislead many people. 12 And because lawlessness is increased, [d]most people’s love will become cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved. 14 This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole [e]world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

 Thankful Thursday

I had the best feline pal in Boots. He was a sweetheart. Now I have Mister Kitty a/k/a Tiger. He has been a real challenge. He knows zero boundaries. He is obnoxious and parks himself wherever he feels like . He is like a cement block trying to move him into his own personal space. But the two of us together are learning. Eight years together and we are learning.

I have a few prayer requests. Loretta in New Mexico lost her precious mom. She had been in an assisted living the past year and of course, we all know what happened where people were not allowed to be with theirt loved ones. Her mom was doing well and then about two weeks ago she had a fall. Please pray for the phamily. They are completely devastated. I am so thankful I can pray and send my love to Loretta and her siblings and other relatives. Yvonne is Loretta's cousin and "Y" and I attended high school together. I am thankful I still keep in contact with her. She lost her dad last year and their phamily has had much sadness. "Y"s mom was getting an awful cough and her dad was a terrific cook. He was teaching Yvonne all his recipes. She made her mom a big batch of green chili. She was happy to report that green chili kicked her mom's  cough's ! Thankful

Pray for Debbie and her daughter Liz. Heading to church this past SONday they were involved in a car accident. Liz has a sprained wrist and they both have shoulder and neck pain.  Pray for George and Betsy. They were also involved in a car accident, Betsy has a broken wrist. These three wonderful ladies are all experiencing pain. Thank you. These ladies and gentleman are amazing folks. I am thankful I know them and I can pray for them.

Pray for Mimi's loved ones as they lost Uncle P. and much prayer is needed for all those shocked and saddened by his loss. I am so thankful I met Mimi here in blog world. She is such an encourager.

Every single one of us is a different kind of person. I appreciate you all here. Just never forget we all do think or act alike. That is the beauty of being an individual creation. You are unique, no one else is like you.

Goodnight and Sweet Dreams.

Harrison and I were taking a walk on Saturday evening. We saw the moon hiding behind this tree. It almost looks like the moon is sitting on the street light. Harrison was amazed. #beautifulmoon

Happy Tuesday and More

Happy Tuesday

Here is a Mile High Boy for my happy Tuesday. My day was anything but happy but I am here, after I drank an excessive amount of caffeine and tried to rest. The two do not mix!  So our middle made us a healthy dinner, chicken strips  with mustard sauce and zucchini and squash steamed. Plus a salad.  I forgot to take photos. Then we went for a walk, nearly one mile around our neighborhood.

Look at this sweet little flower all alone. We saw it on our walk.

I love puns. Here is one for you to enjoy, hopefully.

When fish are in schools sometime they take debate.

Oh Maxine, you are such a sassy one.But I still love you.

Aw...Mondays and More

Aw...Mondays  We had the most productive and wonderful weekend. Yesterday we took four  bags of shredding to our mall and gave a donation to Crime Stoppers. We had old receipts and statments and all sorts of crazy stuff. What a great feeling to get rid of that junk and help out a good cause in the process. Today Nick and Avery and I went to the Rockies game. We had not been to game in person since 2019. It was a beautiful day . Colton and Jacey and the kids joined us. Shea had a blast at her first baseball game. If the Rockies had won it would have been even better. But they beat the Diamondbacks yesterday and Friday so the series ended up in their favor. After the game Avery and I took Shea to Noelle and Roger's so Nick, Colton ,Jacey and Harrison could attend the WW event . Dad and son bought matching t shirts.

We took two selfies since Shea wasn't in this one. I am going to post it at my other blog. We had such a wonderful P H A M I L Y day.

Love is...makes sense in all walks of life, as long as you are with people you love and enjoy their company. It is a great feeling.

Feline Friday

 '

Feline Friday A good day to share my boy Boots again.  wish I had more photos of him.Somewhere I do have some where the girls were small and dressed up and made him pose. He was so gentle.

Ellen and Lorianne co host this weekly blog hop. They each choose two questions to pose to us. Thank you ladies!

1. I never thought I would enjoy sushi, until I tried it. Now I love it.

2.Carbona is the secret to getting red dye out of white clothes. I accidently washed two white t shirts of my hubby with red pillowcarses. Uh-oh! His whites t shirts look great again.

3. I'm happy to announce that  I am trying really hard to eat healthier.

4. My own home is like a second home to me.  I just love our house.

Colton and Jacey and Shea picked me up for lunch at the Olive Garden today. We took a selfie and Shea was too busy eating her breadatick waiting for her lunch. After lunch, another patron walked up to Colton and said, "I wanted to compliment you. Your child is so well manners." It was so sweet. I can scan a room and always tell the ones who dislike children.  It makes me sad. But this lady was older and she was so kind. She may have heard Shea say thank you to the server when they brought her food. The girl is a character and she loves to eat. She is a messy eater but she is 15 months old so there is that.  We stacked all the dirty dishes on the table and cleaned up as much of her spills as we could.  We missed Harrison as he is in school fulltime now. Last night they came over for dinner and Harrison beat Grandfather and I at Csndy Land. That kid has a gift and he always draws the best cards. He was so happy we beamed, I beat you Grandfather! What a blessing the kids are to us.

Here are some pretty pink and other colorful macarons. You can check out their website here: LeilaLove and please visit Pink Saturday

A favorite photo of Nick. Happy number 2-8 trips around the Sun My son! This Margot Kelly photo was taken in 2011 at the Nike Southwest Track and Field Event in Arizona.  Margot Kelly was kind enough to let us share her photo as long as we gave her credit for it. Nick won the boys open event in Cross Country. It was an exciting time as he had shingles and was still feeling the effects of it. It made this mom and dad so proud.  It was also a fun day because Jenny Matlock who use to blog went out of her way with her husband Steve to come to the event and meet us. I Miss Jenny to this very day. She became very ill and retired her blog and I somehow lost touch with her. I wish I could find an Arizona blogger who knew how she was doing.

We were all dolled up for Jeremy and Brittany's wedding, April 30, 2016. What a day that was. Wonderful memories and it is not often that my sons get dressed up with me. Nick's birthday is technically at 4 P.M. MDT but we have been celebrating all day. He is going to have three of his siblings over for cake tonight. He received a beautiful decanter from a friend in Pennslyvania and of course, our gift is delayed until tomorrow. I will get a photo of him with it when it arrives. Maybe he will let me snap a photo of that gorgoeus decanter too.

I am grate for this young man and wish him many more wonderful celebrations around the sun.  He was always my lunch buddy until he went off to middle and high school. College was the hardest because the other kids stayed close and he went to school in Kansas. Many wonderfulmemories from all those road trips.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!

Thankful Thursday

I am very thankful today. I am a day late, but my late sister Pat and her husband Gary were married on Augugst 18th. They would have been married 65 years but both of them passed away too young in their early 60's.  Please visit Thankful Thursday

My sister was a beautiful bride. Her groom Gary was in the U.S. Army so they traveled and lived in many places. They have five sons and the first and last son were both born in Germany while he was still in the service. I was too small to recall their wedding but when they brought home their first born son, they stuck in my mind. You see, I was the baby, the apple of my father's eye. Then Gary Jr. came along. Aack!! He ruined my perfect life. (hahaha) I was going to be five when he came into my life. Thankful they were in my life.

My uncle Louie and my auntie Ang. She would be celebrating a heavenly birthday today, on August 19th. we lost him in 1990 and her in 2000. They were the very best people. They did not have children of their own but they treated all of their nieces and nephews like their own. So many memories and so sad when I think of all the wonderful memories we had with them. Happy Heavenly Birthday Auntie Ang. I know you are walking heaven with many of your loved ones. So thankful they were partof my life.
Life is hard when loved ones go away to their final destination. But I will see them one day and I will have memories to comfort me for now.

Ellen and Lorrianne bot think up these weekly, "fill in the blank". It is fun and they are both so clever thinking of things to say. Here are this week's questions:

1. I never thought I would_______________until________________.

2. ___________is the ___________to _____________.

3. I'm happy to announce that________________________.

4. _________________is like a second home to me.

My answers will be here on Friday.

Happy Tuesday

I found a list of  Childhood Memories sent to me by my dear friend Miz Mollye (Meredith) back in 2013. She was a happy soul. A light in a dark place. She loved everyone and shared happiness everywhere. I sure miss her terribly. I think of her each day, she was like a real sister to me. One who never turned her back on me. So here is a few of those Childhood Memories list:

1. My parents taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE.

"If you;re going to kill each other, do it outside, I just finished cleaning." (haha that one was directed at my two older brothers).

2.My parents taught me LOGIC.

"Because I said so, that's why."

3. My parents taught me MORE LOGIC.

"If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to the store with me."

(I loved going to the store with my mom, my aunt and uncle owned a meat market (it is still in business today) and my uncle Munson would offer me a slice of fresh cut cheese slice or a cold beef hotdog.. Those were some wonderful times.)

4. My parents taught me IRONY.

" You keep crying like that and I;ll give you something to cry about.."

(My dad said that, but he never laid a hand on me. My mother, well, that is a different story. I often think of how ornery I was and what a hard time I gave her. She was a very good mother).

5. My parents taught me about CHOICE.

"Do you want me to stop this car?" (My dad had one car rule when we went on road trips, if anyone said "are we there yet?" he'd turn that car around and take us home).

I hope some of these made you happy and gave you a smile. There were many more but I chose a few to share here. I am happy I had the childhood I was given. Today's kids , so many, are very disrespectful to their parents. Too many choices, too many electronics, no self motivation to help out with chores. I think that is very sad.

Maxine hit the nail on the head on this one.....I will be happy to see some cooler temps soon. I pray anyway...

I hope you will pray for Afghanistan. So many Christians are being presecuted as well as the citizens of that country. The airport was closed and many are trapped. A friend shared something today that gave me chills. It was a piece written about the destruction of Afghanistan and the words were very clear, many Christians will be meeting Jesus face to face . To have such incredible faith to give your own life for another.

Aw...Mondays and Love is....

Aw...Mondays This sloth has a great smile. I thought it was a perfect Monday share. I put two posts on on my other blog and forgot to release it as well as this one. Just one of those days. But this smile made me happy so I liked that.

This face is priceless. I love the look. I wonder what this little one was thinking of?

This is one of my very favorite Love is.... It is good to have someone who understands you and works together with you.

In moving slow he knows no Peer.

You ask him something in his ear;

He thinks about it for a year.

And then before he sayd a word

There, upside down (unlike a bird),

He will assume that you have heard-

A most Ex-as-per-at-ing  Lug.

But should you call his manner Smug,

He'll sigh and give his branch a Hug.

Then off again to sleep he goes,

Still swaying gently by his toes,

And you just know he knows he knows.

Feline Friday and Pink Saturday

 Feline Friday

Some peopel do not like black cats, they tend to be associated with Friday the 13th. Well my boy Boots was the most fabulous feline I ever knew. He was pure class. He had a bit of an ornery streak. If he did not want his photo taken he would turn his head so I could not see his eyes. He had a milk mustache and white paws and a white chest. He was an exquisite gift and I will love him forever.

He never left my side. He always stayed very close by. So while Friday the 13th comes to a close, I cle]ebrate my Handsome boy who lives in my heart forever.

Between Garfield hitting the wall  Phamily Blog and Snoopy stressing I would say this was a good conclusion to my day today.

A vintage pink phone booth in London with a pink phone. when I was young I always wanted that pink Princess phone or the Victorian phone. Sigh.....now people spend way too much time on cellphones. I miss those good old days. Please visit Beverly for a Random Pink Saturday where anything goes. This image came from google.
