Tea Time At Blue Monday

I hit the jackpot when I found this sweet "Made in Japan" teacup and saucer in a pretty shade of blue! It costs me one whole dollar at the A.R.C. thirft store!
Another pretty piece in flowery shades of blue! It cost one dollar and fifty cents. Made in Japan as well.
This Mikasa teacup and saucer was seventy five cents. It is laced with lovely shades of blue and green and some red.
I thought this tea time quote by Oswald Chambers would be a nice reflection on the many blessings we all have in our lives. I hope you will visit Sally and our blue crew! I really don't like to miss the Monday blues so I am going to try to catch up so I may post in a timely fashion. Now sit back, enjoy a cup of tea (or coffee if you prefer) and visit Sally and the rest of the blues! Thanks for sharing and stopping by!

"S" is for Smiling

So I am sappy! I see life differently as I age! I hear these political ads, lies, more lies and lies again! I hear people sharing their reasons why they are voting for this candidate or that! I smile. I smile very sweetly and plead the 5th amendment! As long as it is there to plead I will smile and nod my head! I like to agree to disagree! There are so many things in this world I am not interested in hearing about but I secretly stop and thank God for the blessings that are all around. My great grand baby Jayden above! I am not sure he is smiling! He is a very strong willed boy! I love that face! Please visit Jenny and the gang at Alphabe Thursday and share your favorite "S" things with us.
A smiling mom and her first born girl on Mother's Day 1978! We seem to smile a lot!
I love this black and white photo of Roger and Noelle! They have picture perfect smiles!
A smiling phamily. Graduation Mother's Day 2012 at Metro State College! Way to go Jeremy!
A pink smile for a pretty Proverbs verse and it is perfect for Pink Saturday! Beverly is our gracious hostess with the mostest pinks! Please visit her and many more pinkies this weekend! Stop by Spiritual Sunday and join Charlotte and the folks who share many encouraging words and photos with us. I think this pink quote from the Book of Proverbs honors women, no matter what our lifestyle is or the career choices we made.

Pink puckered lips! An ah ha pink moment!
Aw.....Marydon! I missed our Love is...last week!  I need to paint the bricks in this little Love is house pink!
A final pink share! Is this pooch cute in the hoosetooth pink and white cap and matching scarf?

The greatest pleasure in life, is doing the things people say we cannot do.
-- Walter Bagehot

Prayers for Nick who runs in Stillwater, Oklahoma tomorrow. I want him to remain healthy and run strong. I think this quote sums it all up. Nick has come a long way in a short time. He has kept his grades up and runs strong and with this journey opened new doors for his future.

Computer Woes!

I am way behind on everything! Wishing you all a beautiful weekend! Relying on google images until I can get my laptop up and running! Frustrating.

Those who prayed for my co worker thanks very much! She has a cyst they want her to watch! But after that scare, back to her old tricks! Prayer is needed and I could use some too! Thanks for being here. Hugs to all of you this weekend!

Happy Autumn/Happy Fall!

Today, the 22nd day of September celebrates fall/autumn! Have you seen leaves falling to the ground? I have all around!  Shades of gold and orange and brown litter the streets and walkways everywhere! I think the trees will be bare very soon.

To celebrate fall or autumn, whichever you prefer, I found some beautiful google images to celebrate pink in this glorious season!

I hope you visit Beverly and all the cool pinkies today! I have never visited each and every one of you but I so love being part of this awesome bunch! Do you realize how incredible Pink Saturday is! One womans mission to share some pinks has literally turned in a world wide event each weekend! Amazing! Thank you Beverly for your kind and gracious heart!

A road well traveled. I love the solitude on a walk like this! Only the crunching of the leaves beneath your feet! A time to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature all around us.
I hope you visit lots of pink today! I have participated in Pink Saturday since January 2010. I have formed many wonderful friendships as a result. Go visit today!

"Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all!" Stanley Horowitz

I used google images to present this post today!

"R" is for Respect

I have a really hard time with people I work with lately! I am focused, hard working and ready to roll as my day starts! This is not the case with those around me! Instead of rallying round each other it is mostly a fight, a division of sorts and really rotten!
Regardless of this mayhem I have tried to resolve some of the issues and respect the people involved. It is hard to do! So I have to consult the guy who gets big results! You might know Him. He is God! I am constantly referring to Him! He reminds me to be respectful. Often the kinder you are the worse the results! He disagrees! He feels the reality of it all is going to work itself out. So I pray. Then I pray harder. It is my mantra. Those are words burned into my brain! My mother, God rest her soul. repeated this to me in my life on a daily basis. So I tell my children the same thing!
This is good advice: Always say a prayer. So while I am trying to sort through difficult feelings in the work place I remember these  phrases and rely on them heavily!

Now I don't want to act disrespectful and drag a persons character through the mud but my co worker has been having some wild times since her husband asked her for a divorce. They were married a long time, thirty years and he wants out! She has met a variety of men on line and the process is rude and ruthless  . I certainly do not wish to come off as judgmental but I think sometime we can set ourselves up for failure by the bad choices we make. We have all done it. My concern is, that although she and I are not close and she is difficult to work with, often piling work on others, I feel badly for her. I feel like a shrink at times, because I start to analyze her situation. I don't think she had a lot of love as a child from her parents and apparently the marriage had its difficulties she may not disclose.  Something has caused her to break to the point I feel she is risking her safety and putting herself into very dangerous situations with strangers. Her story is rather long and unconventional but I think Satan is attacking her on all fronts! Last week she had a mammogram and having survived breast cancer on her left side she received a call stating they needed her to return tomorrow to do more testing. They don't like something they are seeing on her right side! I was alone with her at the time and I tried my best to console her. It is always scary facing the unknown. So I told her I would share this and pray and ask for prayer.
I own a copy of this portrait. It is called a "Hook Head" and the late artist Richard Hook portrayed Christ as he felt he might have looked. I think he did an excellent job and I have this portrait hanging in our bedroom as it has hung for the past twenty nine years. My high school pal Randy gave this to me. He worked for a local Christian book store and  I have always treasured it. I hope you will pray for my co worker Theresa as I continue on my journey of realizing respect for those I am with during the work day for eight hours five days a week.
Come visit Ms. Jenny and participate with all of us while we share the letter "R" today! I am remaining respectful to my co worker and praying for her. I hope and pray that  respect will catch on where I work! Aretha Franklin sang it best when she belted out the hit song  R-E-S-P-E-C-T ! In the society we live in today it is often difficult to find some respect. So as I leave you tonight here are a few quotes about respect:

"Respect commands itself  and it can neither be given or withheld when it is due." Eldridge Cleaver

"There is no respect for others without humility in one's self." Henri Fredric Amiel

"When men and women are able to respect and accept their differences then love has a chance to blossom." John Gray

Love is...an education!/Blue Monday

I hope you will stop by  Marydon's and check out Love is....

Here is my selection for the day! I have always loved to dance! When our kids were small we spent many Sunday mornings dancing around our house. My hubby won't go with me but I would love to take some formal dance lessons. Maybe you can Samba or waltz or even tango but I think it would be so much fun to learn to dance. I know lots of "wedding" dances. Being raised a Slovenian I knew how to polka. I knew the Macarena and the Chicken dance but once a guy I was dating started jitterbug dancing and I was totally lost! When I was younger I could Texas two step!
I like this Love is...because you can get an education in the Arts if you attend a symphony, an opera, the ballet or any theater production! Sigh!  I think sometimes the Arts are very underrated! It is good to have some culture in your life and these are some great ways to get it!
Just a little thought.
I saw the neatest video and tried to upload it here! No such luck! So please head over to you tube and check out a video called "Where the Hell is Matt 2012?"  The title isn't my favorite but I think you will like what you see!
Lots of blue birthday gifts for the birthday boy Jayden who turned one on September 12th!
My grandson Colton in blue!
A one year birthday boys special cake! He was being so gentle until his mom pressed the frosting into his face! He was shocked until he licked his lips! He still had frosting sideburns when we left the park!
My honey with his USN Enterprise hat (navy blue) and his Kentucky Wilcats t shirt!  See the pretty blue letters across the shirt?
Jayden is unsure if he likes that water spraying him on the playground! Hmmm....His friend Hayden who was born exactly one week before him attended his birthday party! Hayden is not walking yet and he likes to help Jayden sit down!
Hayden was thinking "where the heck did this water come from?" Hmmm.......
All in all the birthday party was quite fun with 80 degree temps to make the outdoor event perfect! I hope you stop by and say hi to Sally. She is our host each Blue Monday!

Some Pinks to Brighter Your Day!

This is my Vintage Garden Princess House tea stuff! See the pretty pink fake sugar packets? Not a fan, those belong to my oldest daughter. I worked in the medical school. I don't do chemicals and Equal and Sweet n Low are 100 percent pure chemicals! Artificial sweetener's, that is the truth! Gee, now I got off the topic at hand!
How did that silly squirrel get into my pinks? Hmmm....he is watching over the delicate pinks, blues and pretty pastels.
Feeling blue on a Pink Saturday. Nick is running in the Southern Stampede XC Invitational at Joplin, MO. today. I want to be there but here I am! Please pray that he and his team run well and the rain does not turn into a big storm. Have you ever made these cupcake pops? I know they are full of empty calories but they look so delicious! I like the pink icing over the chocolate. It is a great color combination not to mention flavor! Yummy!
If I can't be with Nick I would want you to stop by and we could share some petite desserts with a tall pink refreshing drink. You choose what you would prefer. I am a gracious hostess and want you to enjoy your visit.
Oh my, these are sweet and so light and airy! I will share with you. Stop by.
I will brew you a cup of tea. Just let me know what kind you like. I have a full cupboard with many different kinds.
Catherine from Bolton, England in the UK has these sweet balm of friendship tags at her etsy shop. I thought they were the perfect ending to my Pink Saturday post. Please visit Beverly so you may share your pinks and visit the blogs of lots of pinkies and check out their creativity, encouraging and simply fabulous pink posts! Have a terrific weekend.

Q is for Quickly.....

I have a serious problem! I can't go anywhere or do anything without someone yakking about politics! So please, quickly extinguish all political talk and let's have a different conversation! This photo is self explanatory in regard to quite radical political views!
Whatever will be will be! Things are already set into motion.  Washington D.C. is filled with powerful people who will push the button to get their candidate elected! Before I change topics this is what I have to say regarding political talk, all politicians are filthy rich! Not one of them cares about the middle class! I don't want one more person to say "you baby boomers....." because I might lose my mind, scream and Bruce Lee them out of my life!
Bruce Lee was quick! He could move so fast that when filming him the film had to be slowed down in order to capture his moves! Sigh!
My Sweets can still do this! Our kids have always been afraid of him! Whenever they have tried to outrun him the Bruce Lee comes out of him! Laugh Out Loud!
I am more a Chuck Norris kinda kicker! Much as I love Chuck he was not quite as good as Bruce! We just look mature! We can still beat our kids! Ha Ha Ha!
Let's not quarrel! Don't fie a querimony! Let us live in peace and quiet!
These guys are good at quibbling!

quib·ble  (kwbl)
intr.v. quib·bledquib·blingquib·bles
1. To evade the truth or importance of an issue by raising trivial distinctions and objections.
2. To find fault or criticize for petty reasons; cavil.
n.
1. A petty distinction or an irrelevant objection.
2. Archaic A pun.

Now that you heard all about my political views let's get on with life and stop haggling over these two! I hope you visit Ms. Jenny and share some good "Q" with us today!

Blue Monday/Love is....

It was hard to choose a Love is....comic today! I was looking through them and they reminded me of my girlfriends I just spent time with, Yvonne loves to travel, Charlene was married to a golf pro, guess what she likes? Lynette cares for an elderly aunt. Carol finished raising her five kids alone after her husbands untimely death. So I closed my eyes and picked this one:

Love is....a reflection of him. I never take my hubby for granted. I know Carol thinks about Joe and the love they shared for many happy years before his untimely death. I know she sees his reflection everywhere, in the faces of their children, in her grandkids, everywhere she looks.Memories are all over. I wanted to dedicate this Love is...to my long time friend Carol. I wish her much love and peace in the coming years. Please visit Marydon and come share your favorite Love is....with us.

I am backward today! This is the road from Pueblo back to Denver! I guess I will do this post in reverse! See the lovely blue skies?
A view of the field at the Air Force Academy. Their home colors are blue and white. I remember watching Joe Montana play here when he attended Notre Dame! Gee, am I telling my age! Sigh!
A mountain view near Monument, Colorado. More blue skies!
Nothing blue about this tasty meal! Pass Key serves the best Italian sausage grinders. We decided to have lunch here because we spent every Friday or Saturday night in high school  hanging out at the original Pass Key after football games. The price is still right and we five gals had a blast catching up!
Lynette (far left) and Charlene (standing) wore blue! Carol (next to Lynette) and Yvonne (green). We laughed and Charlene brought her 1971 yearbook. It is the year they closed the Catholic high schools in Pueblo and we were separated and the five of us attended four different public high schools. We reread what we wrote 40 years ago and wrote something new today! I L O V E D it!
We exchanged phone numbers and parted vowing not to wait 40 years for the next visit! Lynette, Carol and Yvonne live two hours away from me. Charlene gave all of us incentive to plan a trip to San Diego! Sun and fun on the beach! She lives a block away from the beach! Sigh!
A little blue card verse to complete my Blue Monday wish to all of you. Enjoy the friendships we have and please visit Smiling Sally today.

A Golden Chain
Another inspirational friendship poem by Helen Steiner Rice
Friendship is a Golden Chain,
The links are friends so dear,
And like a rare and precious jewel
It's treasured more each year...
It's clasped together firmly
With a love that's deep and true,
And it's rich with happy memories
and fond recollections, too...
Time can't destroy its beauty
For, as long as memory lives,
Years can't erase the pleasure
That the joy of friendship gives...
For friendship is a priceless gift
That can't be bought or sold,
But to have an understanding friend
Is worth far more than gold...
And the Golden Chain of Friendship
Is a strong and blessed tie
Binding kindred hearts together
As the years go passing by.
