Welcome to Alphabe Thursday and Mrs.Matlocks post featuring the letter "Q" this week. I have decided to be light hearted today and use Q for quaint.
The definition of "quaint" is having an old-fashioned attractiveness or charm; oddly picturesque
1. a quaint old house
2. strange, peculiar,or unusual in an interesting way, pleasing or amusing way. a quaint sense of humor
3. skillfully or cleverly made
4. Obsolete,wise;skilled.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite story about the word 'quaint' comes from long ago when we lived in the US. Our landlady had some friends over to meet us, and one of the guests said 'I've always liked Canadians. They're so quaint.' We howled with laughter when we got home, and it's been a family joke ever since.
oooh, i am loving the sweet little thatched roof cottage...so adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteOoh I love the English cottage with the thatched roof. I want to live there and look out my cottage door everyday! Maybe quaint is the best way to live.
