SCAMS

Someone I know as well as myself have been victimized here by a  scam. All I can say is if people are dumb enough to fall for some ridiculous scam where some idiot claiming to be someone you know asks you for money and you give them money you deserve to be scammed! The bad thing is AOL, AIM , BLOG SPOT, FACE BOOK no one is avail to help you just a bunch of baloney questions where they want you to change your password but should call in the FBI because the stuff they ask you is ridiculous. Because I am friends with someone does not necessairly mean I know their life story with extremely intimate details like dates of birth of parents, siblings, picture identification of someone from their childhood fifty years ago!  There is no customer service in this world anymore. Only idiot machines you talk to!

I hate Face Book and I am going to find a way to close the account down. So please if you follow me here don't talk  Face Book or be offended when I  dump all the e mail that comes from Face Book into spam! I changed my password as they asked me. Then four times they say someone was trying to hack my account. You need to change your password. You need to change your password. You need to change your password! It is utterly  stupid and they have screwed up my whole evening. How can I change my password when I already changed the password and you tell me change it again and again and again!?

I ran a virus scan on the computer and did everything else that I should. I just had to vent and I am very sorry that you received an e mail from idiots who ought to be beaten with a stick my their own mothers! They         e mailed me about myself, that is how ignorant they are!

  1. I am so sorry this happened to you! I try never to open emails from anyone I don't know and don't see where they are coming from. Facebook has gotten very invasive. Sorry Hon, just close it!

  3. So sorry you got caught up in this. I just closed my FB account this weekend, I just wasn't happy with it. I felt like I was running all over the place. Too invasive as Linda said. I'll stick to my blog. Hang in there it will a get straighted out.

    Blessings,

  4. Wow! You just gave me another good reason not to Facebook! I'm sorry about your troubles with it. I have no idea how to fix it. I get emails in my spam that looks like I sent it to me. Lots of those viagra junk mails in my spam too. Idiots!

Hope you have a better day tomorrow!

PS I hope to get that post card in the mail soon. I haven't forgotten you I just haven't had time to get it.

  5. Yikes...sorry that happened to you. I"m really careful about Facebook and personal email as well. I've gotten friend requests from total strangers in the last week...no link to my blog, or other friends...just completely out of the blue...which I ignored.
Oh in my personal email, they sent a spam that had my email address on it...and you know how I knew it was a scam...the headline said I was offering Viagra at a discount...well, I don't think so...It did make me howl with laughter, right before I clicked the delete spam button..
Love, hugs and prayers for a day without scams...Heather :)

  6. Those hacker/spammers are annoying! I got the same e mail in my e mail account. So dumb they sent it to themselves (as me) HA!I notice the spam right off the bat. Why would I send myself an anonymous e mail? I would not answer an e mail request for money from my own family! I am closing that Face Book as soon as I can take care of all the annoying things there. Thanks everyone for the support over here. Anne

  7. Take a deep breath...I still love facebook as it is a way for me to chat real time with friends and family..I am very careful and don't acknowledge friend requests I don't know..I guess I am lucky I have not had much problems..I don't play the games either and I think that's where a lot of that crap comes from...hang in there, no biggie..I just deleted it.

    hugs

  8. it's so weird that someone can do that....I think in some way they can be blocked but not sure how....and something I've learned this year...don't ever let anyone stop you from having your voice. Sarah

  9. I got the silly thing too. I inadvertently opened it, but immediately sent it to spam.

I wish I had set up a filter before I sent it to the spam folder. (I didn't know how to get it back from spam to do that!)

    Maybe it will stop soon.

  10. Its hard to "delete" a facebook account... they hid the link somewhere in one of the back pages of their site.

I'm sorry this happened to you - I detest spammers, and the people that write computer viruses. Imagine all the good these (obviously talented, if not so bright) people could do.

  11. Hi Anne, Yep I got that email too. They claimed to be you, but I deleted it right away, I knew it wasn't from you. It's so bad what these crooks try and get away with.
On a lighter note!! My giveaway has started, so please check it out, maybe there's sometime you might like. Take care, Carol Mae

  13. I just got the email from "you". It did look strange, so I popped here to see what was up.

About Facebook, I tried it for a month, but the annoyance of it drove me away. I only held on that long because it was the only online "presence" of a good friend of mine. I had no problem closing the account. I cannot remember how, since it was about a year ago.

  14. In my email...anything that looks personal that shows up in my spam filter...it's spam...and I automatically delete it without opening it.
on FAcebook, I'm very particular about my privacy settings...only friends gett to see and view my page and NOBODY else. In fact, if a stranger where to try and find me on Facebook, all they would see is my photo and nothing else...
And the friend requests from absolute and total strangers...I ignore those...Oh, I did get one once from someone saying their name was "John McNoughten"...and they found me on one of Pastor John MacArthur's websites..but then it says on his profile that John is not his real name and he lies to prtect his privacy...well, that to me is really creepy...so I ignored it. The person tried friending me AGAIN...and I ignored it again.
One other time, I had to report the person to Facebook because it was getting harassing.
I hope you figure things out and you'll do whatever is best for you. Love, hugs and greetings from Oregon, Heather :)

  16. So sorry - this has happened to friends of mine as well. I saw the email and clicked on it. But at the same time I was reading it, I was talking to another blogger on the phone and she said it was a scam. I just sent it to SPAM and deleted it.

Relax - it will all work out.

  17. I totally can relate to how FRUSTRATING it can be when you can't get a real person to speak to on the phone - especially when it is extremely important....

There are just some things that a computer or "Robot-voice lady" can't do as well as a real human being - Hah, imagine that!!!!

I am really sorry that you have to be dealing with all of this though, hang in there!!!!

  18. I also got an email from what looked like you..but I knew immediately what it was. Don't let it get to you Anne..we all know you and love you..and we know you would never, ever be a party to a pitiful mess like this. It's almost funny that they take so much of their time to make total asses and fools of themselves. And Anne..their own mothers couldn't beat them with anything. These creatures are slime, and born and reside under a rock. They have no mothers...So to whatever, whomever it is,that's really trying to mess you about..try to pity the idiot. Can you imagine living under a rock with slime, and slugs?????
Now, didn't that thought make you feel better?????
Hugs my friend..don't let idiots get to you..
