Hi! Welcome to Pink Saturday. Please stop by Beverly's blog and say hello and thank her for being such a terrific Pink Saturday hostess. I have been a bit "blue" but I managed to smile today as I got a double dose of some pretty girls in pink.
This is Jaslin and Alexis, 6 and 4 respectively. They are the daughters of Christal and Alex. Christal is my son-in-law's daughter and these are 2 of Christal and Alex's three children. My daughter and her hubby are on vacation for two weeks so they were doing some kid things with the girls. They were shopping at the thrift store where they got their pretty pink outfits. They stopped by K-Mart where the sale clerk asked Jaslin "Do you ever get sunburned, you're so tan?" She replied, "No, I never burn, I am half Mexican." This is the same girl who use to ask me "Do you peak Panish?" (translation Do you speak Spanish?) She is fluent in both English and Spanish having grandparents from what I call "the old country". My daughter thinks Alexis is a whiner but she told her today, "I am isn't and I am telling my mom you said that!" The girls love my house, they say "please may we go to the Barbie house?" They love my Barbie's that are everywhere!
I love bowling. I started bowling in the 4th grade. My friend's mom was widowed in her early thirties and she worked at a local bowling alley. They rented a bus for the Catholic school kids and every Saturday morning we went bowling. We were SLOVEnian kids so they dubbed us "the Bowljohns". I am a pretty decent bowler even all these years later! A "bojohn" is a slang word for SLOVEnian people. My paternal grandfather told me when they got off the boat at Ellis Island most of them had no papers and the men wore bow ties so they were called "BowJohns". We have a phamily friend who was born over there and she is insulted to be called a bojohn. I find that sometime you just can not please all the people all the time! Do you like this cool black and pink bowling ball?
I also posted a favorite google image of a pink sunset. I absolutely love this photo.
I hope you have enjoyed this pink post and now please go visit CC and check out her incredibly beautiful blog. It is so friendly over there. You will instantly love CC! She is a sweet gal with a big Texas heart. She is recuperating from a bad fall and I wish her a speedy recovery. Please stop by and say hello. You will love Sun Bonnet Sue over there too.

What cute little girls. I haven't been bowling in ages. I always enjoyed it, though I wasn't that great at it.

Happy Pink Saturday Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post you have shared today.
Now does that bowling ball say "Candy" or what? Oh my gosh I can just see rolling down the lane. How pretty it must look. Oh thank you for sharing. Love it.
Now those girls are just about the sweetest picture ever. I love their little faces and the way the younger one twisted her arms, just priceless. Absolutely pricesless.
(5 of my 8)of my grandchildren are also half Hispanic, and let me tell you they do not burn either. They get so dark in our pool in the summer.
Your sunset is DDG. I love it. Oh could we ever sit and stare at that one all night. Living here in Phoenix, I see quite a few beautiful ones myself. This one is pink a licious. I love it.
Thank you again for the beautiful share today. Please stop over and let me share mine with you.
Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
