I wanted to post this today for 9-11 and for my Pink Saturday post. This song meant a lot to me during 9-11 because in the song he says "Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her? Did you dust off that bible at home?" I remember talking to my mother after the events of 9-11. Two months and five days later I lost my mother. I did not have to dust off my bible but I found these words to be comforting than and moreso today:
"If my people who call on my name will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
I think we need to rethink our world because after 9-11 we all fell back into that same old same old. On a small political note I must say anyone who calls themselves a man of God would not want to fuel the fire that already is burning in this sickening politically correct world of ours. Enough said .

Agreed. I never understand how people's arrogance and ego allows them to behave in a manner that HURTS ANYONE. Even in the smallest ways people can cause detremental pain to another. Hugs to you. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and our country has got to put a stop to terrorism which is just cowardice and ignorance and pure hate just for the sake of hating. I'll always remember.

Thank you ANNe for stopping by, Where were I? I went downstairs to watch my favorite program. I was sitting down in front of the tv waiting for my show to come on and there is a "Special Reports from Foxchannel". and there it is the second airplane hit the second tower. I was terrified as my parents were. I didn't have to work that day and the next. Stayed home until further notice.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love this song and I also remember Alan Jackson singing it on national tv at the CMA"S award. I also going to post this video on my FB. Thanks for sharing.
May God bless you and yours.
Nancy
You are right the world needs a good shaking again but not in this manner. It is a shame how soon we forget that we need to serve the same God each day not just at a disaster. Nice post and I love Alan Jackson.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite songs. ..We pray there will never be another diaster such as we had on 9/11
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday Anne Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful tribute today. I love your writing today sweetie. Isn't this song the MOST beautiful thing ever? I love it's memory for you. How you shared with your precious Moma. It is your song together.
Thank you also for quoting Chronicles 7:14. A powerful verse, so powerful.
I agree without judging anyone, that it is not fitting of a man of God. So sad right before this anniversary of Sept. 11.
Thank you again for the beautiful share sweet friend. I so love to read your writes. They make my heart so happy. You write from your very soul.
Many hugs and much love, Sherry
Anne - it' true, we've fallen back into that old complacency and we certainly need to pray for our country. We must never forget those who died that day in a senseless act of violence.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Joan
I have that on my blog too! sandie
ReplyDeleteMay we never forget.
ReplyDeleteI wish we could have kept that same feeling of togetherness we had after 9/11. It's a shame it takes such a catastrophe to bring people to their knees and to rely on God. And then most people just settle back into the lives as if nothing had happened. That scripture from 2 Chronicles has always meant so much to me. We definitely need Him to heal our land.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Charlotte
Just now getting around to the PS posts. Hope you had a great day.
ReplyDeleteThere is far too much hatred in the world today - I'm not sure why or what it is all about - we are all flawed humans - struggling to "get through" life the best we can with what we have and get.
ReplyDeleteThe golden rule should be forefront in all of our minds.
