We are getting ready for a fun trip to Durango in mid-October. Markus ,Hannah's honey plays football for Western State College so we are going to go there and watch his team play against Fort Lewis College. Durango is situated in a very lovely place and was founded in 1880 by the Denver Rio Grand Rail Road. It is perched 6512 feet above sea level and is located in the Southwest corner of Colorado known as the Four Corners. It is best known for the Historic Narrow Gauge Durango and Silverton Railroad. It is the home of Fort Lewis College and is close to the Mesa Verde. That is another story for another day. We are hoping the autumn leaves will be in full color and we are excited because our oldest daughter and her phamily will travel with us. It will be a nice phamily time and college football is always exciting in the autumn air! I will post photos of our trip as my daughter Noelle and her hubby Roger are excellent photographers and we should have lots of fun photos to share. I think this trip is something we could all use after a difficult summer.
Our friends are in Colorado as I type. They have a fifth wheel and go out every Fall. Been doing it since 1964.
ReplyDeleteYour trip sounds wonderful.
Lucky girl, we have been a couple of times. It is so beautiful there. We went in July years ago and rode up to Silverton where it had snowed during the night. The kids could not believe snow in July!

Hey!! So are we!!!!! :-) If you see me say Howdy! We are flying into Denver in mid October as well to stay for a week and celebrate our anniversary. We are going to drive in a big circle while there. We are hoping to go up a bit into the rockies and then circle west and then down towards Mesa Verde and then continue our circle east and then make our way back to Denver to fly out. I'll keep an eye out for you! LOL!! Oh yeah, and we're gonna do lunch with a few friends that have moved out there too. I miss them. Anyway, hope your travels are safe too!

Hey Anne! Thank you for coming over today. How fun that you put up Miss Pioneer Beauty's party. Isn't that going to be so much fun!
ReplyDeleteColorado is one of my favorite places to go since I live in the lower 48. Alaska is my most favorite......but Colorado is somewhat like it. Doesn't have the ocean though.........mountains, yes.
I so think of you and your work........all the time now that I have to go out. One day a kid was kind of not nice to me. It was so hard. I kept praying and thinking if you can do it, I can do it. The next day he was better.
I love you sweet friend.........have a good week and I will be praying for you!!!!!
Hugs, Linda
I pray that you have a save trip.
