Guide Dogs

If you go here you can read about guide dogs and how a wonderful service was started on the West coast back in 1947 to service military personnel returning from World war II without their sight. The dream of many volunteers came true and this guide dog school thrives today. Many magnificent animals who would otherwise be sent to animal control agencies and eventually be "put down" are often used to provide a wonderful service for many folks. I hope you will take a moment and visit this site and read in detail the wonderful service this agency provides. Then stop by Angela's and thank her for hosting this Tuesday meme.
I hope you all have a wonderful week.

  3. You know you just don't realize what a service the guide dogs actually do for their people! Just last week I was in town and seen a man with a dog. He would say something to the dog and the dog would walk guiding him where he commanded him to go. I couldn't help notice that when they crossed the road and he got to the curb the dog kind of hesitated to let the man know he needed to step up. I also noticed that the man was walking in straight lines so to speak. I had tears in my eyes seeing it. I'm almost for sure that the man is blind. Then the thoughts that ran through my head....
