"P" IS FOR PLAYTIME!

I was planning to write a post about my Barbie Dream House that my Sweets is going to help me build. Then I got an idea, why not incorporate it into my Alphabe Thursday P post! Perfect, huh? Pretty good idea! I love my Barbie's and I own a lot of furniture that Barbie, Ken and the gang lounge around on! I love decorating and I am not good at those tiny miniature houses you can build with teeny tiny furniture but I love Barbie and refuse to pay several hundred dollars for a silly house that is primarily made out of paper products! Hey, this P post is going to be pretty fun! As a child I had the original 1962 model. Shhh...don't tell anyone my age! LOL! Through the years of marriage and kids I never could save enough money to buy a super cool Barbie house. So I found a six shelf bookcase that will make a fancy house! With his trusty jigsaw Sweets can cut windows and doors for me and I can have a super cool Barbie home! Ah....

I have two full bedrooms for my Mattel gang. I have three bathrooms, two kitchens, a beauty salon, a rec room and piano/tea room. I have an office. A nursery and many more fun rooms. So I am going to create a perfect Barbie paradise!

Now that I have laid out my floor plans for you I will keep you posted and you can visit Jenny and tell her that I posted a perfectly pretty post! In fact visit as many of the Alphabe Thursday participates that you can! I am always amazed at all the different posts everyone comes up with!
I am also linking to Beverly for Pink Saturday. Go visit some pinkies and enjoy the weekend!

  1. This is so fun! My mother saved an old dressing table when I was little. It was 2 peach crates stood up on end with a board on the bottom and one on top...it even had old metal wheels on it. She took contact paper in pink and covered the top and all the shelves inside and then she made a pretty pink skirt to go around the front. I used it for my Barbie house instead of for books. I could raise the skirt and play and when I was done, just put the skirt back down. Nothing to clean up and put away.
It was so cool and I had 5 rooms!
I hope you have fun with yours!
Thanks for putting my button on your blog!
    So cool!

  3. Oh Anne ..this sounds like such a fun idea and project! I look forward to seeing more when it's finished.

I had a Barbie and Ken doll when I was young, and some oufits for them, but that was about it. My daughter had more Barbies and accessories than I had, but she never wanted the Barbie house. She did have a doll house that her Dad made her that was for miniatures, whcih she loved.

    Have a good weekend!

  6. Hello dear Anne, I have had company for two weeks and i have hardly touched my computer. On Sunday my cousin is leaving to visit another cousin and I will miss him. At the same time I am ready for some time to myself.

Your Barbie house sounds like it will be awesome. Just the thing so you can share your Barbies with your blogging friends. I bet there are lots of Barbie fans in Blog land. Your pink Barbie photo is so sweet. it sounds like you love to collect many things. So do I.

    Warm hugs, Jeanne

  7. Happy Pink Saturday Anne Sweetie...
What a gorgeous share. I love your idea of your Dream House for Barbie, Ken and their friends. I can't wait to see the finished product. Isn't it wonderful that we have such crafty hubbies who can help build our dreams. If I can see it, he can build it.

I have a Midge doll from when I was a kid, but none of my Barbies. I do remember spending many hours playing with them though.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
