I have a heavy heart today. I look at the news and see destruction everywhere. We just need to take a break and pray. My heart aches for all of you caught up in these terrible storms. I am so sad for the loss of lives. I am praying today for my country that has been slammed by every conceivable natural storm these past few days. I worry for phamily and friends caught up in it. So I am praying and I hope you will join me.
"I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the Lord, who does all these things."
Isaiah 45:7 ESV
I was reading an article about Vince Gill and Amy Grant in the AARP magazine we get at home as well as at the office where I work. I wrote this prayer down that Amy said her older kids grandmother prayed everyday. The Lord touched my heart by this prayer and I share it with you. My niece Karla called me. Her husband's step dad is in hospice. He is Frank and he is a Jehovah's Witness. He is dying from a blood cancer which is incurable. Please pray. Then the Lord told me to pray for the US under these severe weather conditions. If you ask Him He will answer and sometime it is very quickly. I just had to share this simple prayer with you today. "Lord, lead me today to those who need me." I think it is a perfect simple request God will honor us for. Thanks for letting me share with you today.

Thank you.
We are blessed as the storms were all around us but we are safe! Praying for those not so lucky.
ReplyDeleteThe violent storms have simply ripped through our country. I'm so sad for those affected. Will pray.
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding us to keep all those affected and in the path of these awful storms in our prayers. And also Frank, may he find painless peace. Ann
ReplyDeleteI'll join you in prayers for all those.
ReplyDeleteThe storms have really hit the county hard! And her prayer sounds just right!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. Everyone I know has someone in areas that have been touched by storms. My cousin put of fb that the largest area hit was less than 15 miles from her home.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy son and his family are in Alabama ... but thankfully south of the destruction. Prayer is so very necessary!
It is sad.
ReplyDeleteWe had alot hit here in Texas
oh yes we need to offer our prayers for the folks who have been hit by these devastating storms.
ReplyDeleteI love Amy's prayer. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for your visit and sweet words on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's a coincidence that I found your prayer AFTER i posted about my "mini-mission" trip.
ReplyDeleteGod is so good - you are right - He is always there to hold us when times are rough and hears all of our prayers. And, prayers are sooo needed for the people affected by these storms and tornados.........and for the people who are fighting the fires in Texas and the people affected by them, losing their homes, livestock.
*sigh* so much to pray for,
Jan
