The End of the Summer Flowers

Today I saw some flowers, looking pretty but warning me that summer is leaving and the cooler weather is ushering in Autumn! I want to share the flowers with some pretty pinks dotting the bunch! Please visit Beverly and thank her for hosting us here each week. You should visit Connie too. She was featured at Pink Saturday and she has been downsizing and has a great giveaway! Tell her I sent you over!
I took this shot at a street corner heading over to the Liberty Bell Cross Country Invitational. The police had the intersection closed temporarily and we were behind a school bus from Poudre Valley. We made it to the meet on time and Nick took 34th out of a field of 153 runners. Considering he was struggling with this nasty shingles he is doing so well. Their team took 7th overall! It was a grand day and the weather was perfect.
Enjoy the weekend.

  1. Those flowers are lovely. I feel bad for Nick with the shingles. Hope he is handling it well. 34th is a good showing.

  2. Congratulations to Nick and his team. Hard to imagine running and suffering from Shingles too. My husband has a case of the shingles about 12 years ago - he said that was the worst pain he's ever had.

  3. Beautiful flowers! I hate that part of colder weather coming...no more flowers in the garden. Sorry Nick is suffering with shingles. I've heard that is very painful. Congrats to him and his teammates. It sounds like they did great!

    Take care,
    Connie

  4. Indeed fall is on the way in and summer on it's way out.. I will miss the flowers as I had not much energy to enjoy them this summer. I have bought some mum plants for my window the front porch and for the cemetery.
    Enjoy the warm days.

  5. Your end-of-summer flowers are lovely...not to be here long but lovely while they are!

My son, Ryan, used to get shingles too. They were awful and they could not get them under control. He was in hospital at least once with them. I know how painful they are for Nick too! Hugs- Diana

  6. Pretty end of summer flowers...you are fortunate to have them. Texas flowers have been kaput since late June....I'm hoping for a few mums anyway. Cool Running for your son and team! Thanks for your always neat comment on CITexas Gal.

  7. Yes, flowers are starting to wilt. Fall is here in michigan. I don't mind except for 2 of my lovely students have passed their nice colds on to me. Yeah, what can I say? I have students who love to share! Including their germs!

I am so glad Nick did as well as he did with the shingles! I hope he feels better soon

  9. Yay for Nick! I had shingles when I was 12 and that was the most painful experience ever!

I'm hoping that the flowers decide to stay a bit longer this year. It's been a wet season here in Oregon so I'm hoping that we'll continue to have warm weather.
