I always got this old fashioned hard candy for Christmas in my stocking!
A google image of a similar Christmas tree my folks put up each year. Ah...the memories.
I am sharing this with Jenny and all the wonderful participates of our weekly Alphabe Thursday . I am way behind decorating my tree with just 4 days to Christmas! But at least it has lights on it!
We are waiting to see if this snowstorm turns into a blizzard! We are scheduled to get at least a foot in the Denver metro area. At least that its what they tell us! So my mind has been on the sinus/head cold I am getting and the snow! The white stuff that brought frigid temps to us! It is so pretty but only if you can stay inside and watch the fluffy white stuff falling on the ground!
A warm and cozy fireplace...ah...
Enjoy the warmth of this season with those you love.
I hope you feel better! I love snow...and would love to see it again! :):):):):):):):):):):)
ReplyDeleteI saw some of that hard candy in a store recently. My grandmother always had it in a bowl at Christmas!! Have a happy Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteI love the ribbon candy, especially when it's the minty/spicy flavors & a little on the thinner side:-)
ReplyDeleteI think I'm deprived. I've never had ribbon candy or hard candy. I always liked that Dolly song, though. She never fails to be uplifting, even when she sings sadder songs.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your snow. It doesn't feel like Christmas when it's brown outside!
Have a wonderful holiday! :)
Lovely ribbon candy.. I remember wanting such candy to eat when I was a kid. However now as a parent I try not to give my own kids too much of such candy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a super post for the season. Lots of happiness to you too!
ReplyDeleteI remember my grandmother having that candy at Christmas time! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHi there dear Anne! We always had candy and fruit that was one of our favorite things under the tree!
ReplyDeleteI have a sinus issue too and it isn't pleasant! Hope you are enjoying this snowy day:) HUGS!
My mom loves that ribbon candy. A few years back I found it at a grocery store and bought it for her at Christmastime. She loved it, ha.
ReplyDeleteI remember the ribbon candy..we can still get it today. Love the Dolly Pardon son..a favorite of hers.. Hope you didn't get to much snow and that all is well. Warm wishes for a Merry Christmas

We have a bit of snow here, but I'm sure you have more because I saw a picture that Sarah took out her front door last night! YES! I'd love to get together when the weather is not frightful next year!! We have a plan, we'll just figure out the time. Merry Christmas!♥♫
ReplyDeleteStay warm and safe and enjoy your family time. I remember the hard ribbon candy, my Dad always liked it! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteNow, THAT looks like Christmas!
ReplyDelete=)
So far, we don't have any snow nor do we have the temperatures for the snow. I don't mind until Saturday night when I want to wake up to a White Christmas, but hey, if we don't, that is okay. I do hope you have a great Christmas!!!

ReplyDeleteI deleted first post because of a typo...I love Dolly. When I hear this song it makes me think of stories my Daddy would tell of Christmas when he was a child. Mom always kept some of this candy in the candy dish around Christmas. "Sweet" memories!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Annie! do you remember that old ribbon candy that was so thin and like glass and it could cut your mouth if you weren't careful? I think that was outlawed.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas- xo Diana
