There’s a lovely little legend
That I would like to tell,
Of the birth and death of Jesus
Found in this lowly shell.
If you examine closely
You’ll see that you find here,
Four nail holes and a fifth one
Made by a Roman’s spear.
On one side the Easter Lily,
Its center is the star,
That appeared unto the shepherds
And led them from afar.
The Christmas Poinsettia
Etched on the other side,
Reminds us of His birthday
Our happy Christmastide.
Now break the center open
And here you will release,
The five white doves awaiting
To spread Good Will and Peace.
This simple little symbol
Christ left for you and me,
To help us spread His Gospel
Through all Eternity

ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful Easter.
ReplyDeleteAnne,
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!! I bought one of these a very long time ago on one of our trips down to the Jersey Shore and it came with the same poem!!
HAPPY EASTER!!
Hugs,
Debbie
May you and your family have a blessed Easter. Did you son make his flight back to college? Monday's drive to work was the worst I have EVER had to do. And I lived in Granby for four years! We still have some snow, so I think I saw some daffodils and tulips on their way.♥♫
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you for The Easter Story-
ReplyDeleteA great way to end the day.
Happy Easter,
Jemma
Forgot to tell you, thank you for your pretty poem also. It had pretty words, pretty in their arrangement AND in the colors.
ReplyDelete..
My first comment 'disappeared.' Sorry.
ReplyDeleteI told you thank you for the second poem. I was hoping that it would end the way it did.
Also I am sorry for your husband's friend, his death, and for his family, and for your husband. Plus the child. Goodness!
