Love is.../Blue Monday

I am loving all the little Love is...cartoons. Although we do not play tennis, I thought this sentiment was perfect.
Christmas lights looking bright! See the blue in there? Boondocks is a fun center within walking distance of my home. Our daughter Hannah was there last night and took this photo. You can ride the bumper cars or play miniature golf. We are going to play some miniature golf once Nick gets home.

Of course the blue lights won't shine for me on our 2014 Christmas tree. Lots of red, gold and silver adorns it but it is tall and the tree topper won't fit! Any suggestions?
I walk each morning at the open spaces. The geese have been naughty and they left their calling cards all over the sidewalks near the water. I walk around the grassy field which incompasses about 0.9 miles. They are setting up for the annual Winter Fest and I took a few photos. Of course, at night it will be beautiful with all the colorful lights.
This tree will look lovely when it is decorated with lights and pretty treasures.

I love the log cabin. It all reminds me of a quiet little village. If we had a little snow, it would be perfect.

Sally and the Blues are waiting for us to add our blue shares. I know my open spaces photos are sharing plenty of beautiful blue Colorado skies!

A final share, a poem for those who love the wintry white snow:

Snow-flakes

By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Out of the bosom of the Air,
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare,
      Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
            Silent, and soft, and slow
            Descends the snow.

Even as our cloudy fancies take
Suddenly shape in some divine expression,
Even as the troubled heart doth make
      In the white countenance confession,
            The troubled sky reveals
            The grief it feels.

This is the poem of the air,
      Slowly in silent syllables recorded;
This is the secret of despair,
Long in its cloudy bosom hoarded,
            Now whispered and revealed
            To wood and field.

Have a happy week everyone!

  3. Hi Anne,

You're right: that is a beautiful blue sky! I have a grandson who recently decided to live in Colorado, so he's looking at the same sky. (A nice touch for me.)

Thanks for making Blue Monday special.

    Happy Blue Monday!

  8. Hello Anne, I love the photos you shared. The festival promises to be very special. Try putting a big bow at the top of your Christmas tree but not 'on' the top. I like bows as toppers.

    Happy Christmas season,
    xo Jeanne

  10. Beautiful photos, Anne. When I was first married, we had all blue lights on our tree... That was about 1962 --and we even sprayed that yuky 'snow' all over the tree.. It got all over the ornaments/lights, etc... BUT-we thought it was so pretty that year... ha ha

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  11. Your tree is beautiful!! My tree is very small, and my Angel topper is too big for it. It would topple the tree over, so it sits beside our tree. lol. Maybe your other reader is right. A large bright bow near the top would really look very pretty. Or maybe set an angel or a bird on a branch near the top of the tree. Even without a topper, your tree is gorgeous.

The next town over from here has a huge tree in an open field at a traffic light intersection. Every year the tree is decorated and oh my it is just beautiful!

Now it is lunchtime, and my little fellow is barking orders at me to get busy in the kitchen. lol. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
