Pink Saturday

When our middle daughter was born in 1988 my favorite Aunt Ang made this quilt for her. AT the time she did not know if it would be a boy or a girl so she made a Sunbonnet Sue kinda quilt! My heart breaks because it is worn and ragged and I would love to be able to recreate this but I am clueless when it comes to quilting. The recipient of this quilt has quilting on her bucket list. She is a smart young lady turning 27 this year and perhaps will be able to recreate this for her own children. My aunt suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and yet she created so many beautiful hand crafted treasures for us. I miss her so much. She was a true blessing in my life.

Had to share this quote for Beverly and the Pinkies today. Enjoy a beautiful Friday!

  1. Quilts are one of my weakness. I have three or four regular size Sun Bonnet Sue quilts.

  2. A beautiful and loving quilt. Your aunt would've felt very good knowing that the quilt she made became ragged from lots of use.

  5. Perfect for both Pink Saturday and Blue Monday! My mother in law had a quilt with just the girls in their bonnets. I really think this one is so sweet with the boys too!

  6. What a lovely treasure to have in the family ragged or not.
My husband's grandmother made a baby quilt for our daughter which she now has in her own home.

  7. My Mom created a quilt like this one for me. It took her several years to finish it and she finally did at the age of 80! I cherish it with all my heart.

I hope that yours stays in the family for years to come.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, it is always good to hear from you.
