Did you know February was National Cherry Month? Now you do!
Do you like cherries? Do you have a favorite dessert with them? Here is an easy easy Cherries Jubilee:
16 oz. can of cherry pie filling
1/2 cup brandy
Good quality vanilla ice cream (French Vanilla?)
Almonds
Heat the cherry pie filling in a sauce pan until warm.
Heat the brandy in a different sauce pan. It will not ignite if not heated.
Spoon ice cream into individual dishes. Add some cherries and pour brandy over all.
Ignite (make sure you do this safely) You can find on line tips about this :-)
Sprinkle with almonds and enjoy!
HaHaHa! I use to do this with friends when I was a kid. Simpler times. My favorites were, is your refrigerator running? You better catch it! and calling stores (the local grocer in our neighborhood) and saying Do you have Prince Albert in a can? You better let him out! HaHaHa!

In case you really need a S M I L E today stop by Happy Tuesday and say hi than think about Angela. She use to host Tuesday Show and Tail and she would love this one. I Miss seeing her and so many others at their blogs.
Maxine is right on with this one! Too much technology has made people so mean and hateful. It is everywhere in your face. I love to unplug. Makes me breathe easy. But I grew up and learned early on, from jobs I held, handwriting and doing for yourself without a gadget intervening was the better way. My thoughts on this only.
Lots of good folks need prayer everyday including you and me. Would you keep Marsha in your prayers? She is having a knee replacement this week. Please pray hard for Jamie. She is dealing with some heartbreaking personal matters. Prayers for our tiny Logan, back in the hospital again. Prayers for mom and dad too as the bills are mounting and insurance is refusing to cover much of it. Prayers for Colton, Jacey and Harrison. A new baby bundled in pink is heading their way this summer. We will never forget our sweet Alastor Avery and I am thinking perhaps he requested a sister be sent to his earthly phamily. It is something that can't help but make me smile. I knew that baby boy was incredibly special. Missing him today. I pray daily for the homeless, particularly in the wake of all this cold, miserable weather. While I am comfortable in my warm home there are so many on the streets and the single digit temps are not fit for man or beast. If you are in the cold wintry months please take extra care of those pets. Thank you.
I love cherries. Not much into desserts though. I'll just eat all the cherries.
ReplyDeleteLove all the funnies and you know how I love Maxine. She's my kind of gal.
Prayers for all those in need.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Big hug, honey. ♥
That Cherries Jubilee looks totally yummy. Prayers from all of us to those in need too, especially dear Logan, I really hate that he is back in the hospital again.
ReplyDeleteThat looks good-fancy and easy. Don't forget- do you have pop in a bottle? Better let him out :)
ReplyDeleteFIRST, I'm honored to join you and your prayer warriors. Please, won't you let us know how Marsha, Jamie and your babes are doing?
ReplyDeleteOoooh man. The sickest I've EVER been in my life happened when I gorged on cherries back in 8th grade. I can hardly look at them anymore. (*grin*) Are you that way about any kind of food?
That phone picture brings back lots of wonderful fun memories. Not only the games were fun, but chatting with the operator, and counting the rings to see if the call was for you. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
