An Anniversary and A Birthday Bash

My beautiful paternal grandparents Joseph and Mary.  They were married on this date in 1905. I can not locate a wedding photo but this was an anniversary photo. Mygrandfather was a wonderful man. He worked a full time job and cared for my grandmother as she had health problems most of her life. They raised a wonderful phamily and lost two young sons both at the age of 3.  My Uncle "Moon" passed away young too in his 50's and my dad was the lone male sibling left. He had 5 sisters and he loved each one. I wanted to share these beautiful BoJon;s on their anniversary day.

I always loved a story my cousin Sammy told me about our grandparents. We lost him too soon too but he told me a cute story. He went to their house every SONday to watch baseball and my grandfather would make them root beer floats. I get such a kick out of that story. I pray they all had a happy heavenly reunion.

Those who came before us, they made the path we walk on today. without them we would cease to exist.  I love knowing all the little things about those I loved and knew and those I never knew but learned so much about.

Happy Heavenly Anniversary to my beautiful Grandparents 116 years after their marriage.

The birthday girl got a pretty pink and purple sporty car for her first birthday.

A Unicorn cake for this tiny girl.

She had an individual cake for herself. She was enjoying that unicorn horn (cone).

Little fashion diva Shea has a new stack of cool clothing.

Rebekah and Zach took some great photos! Shea was winding down on that cake and had a nice warm bath shortly after taking this photo.

Grandpa's buddy Blake had a good time. He is a fearless boy. I still have photos to sort on our phones. I will be back with more. Have a great night.

Feline Friday

Feline Friday I might need a frame for this perfect photo! Ths feline seems to think the Minky blanket is his hmmmm......

My answers to Friendly Fill In's are here:

1. Lately, I've been trying to organize my house since the rain stopped.

2. I find stargazing fascinating.

3. If I had known, I was still going to be here, all these years later, I would saved more for a rainy day.

4. I can't help but eat too much junk food, when I'm nervous.

Ellen came up with the first two questions and Lorianne the second two questions. Thanks ladies.

This was Colton's graduation from ihgh schoolin 2015. He is with Jeremy, Brittany and Addy. How did Addy grow up to be a teenager so fast? I love these memories.

I had to share Nick in his pink Ralph Lauren shirt from 2015. I just love his smile here. Nick had a tough end of 2020 and start of 2021. I am glad he is feeling so much better. That pneumonia kicked his butt. He fits into Pink Saturday perfectly so stop by and say hi to Beverly and all the Pinkies.

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for stopping by.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

Everyday there is much to be Thankful for. Thankful Thursday

So...you have the good life when  you are allowed to take your nap on a Minky Couture blanket. I have not even had the opportunity to use this! These blankets are so soft and comfy. I have a smaller one that I like at night to help me fall asleep. This feline thinks he is the owner of this place he calls home! He says I should be thankful he is here! I think he may have been mad that I snapped his photo. He thinks he is too good to take a nice photo for me.

Thankful Colton stopped by with Shea yesterday.  She turned a whole one year old! She is a character, so fearless, so happy, so excited around all the pets. She has no fear and loves life. They will have a birthday party for her on Saturday. What a joyful year this has been with her in our lives. I often heard grumbling about 2020 and you know, I never had fear about anything. I trust the highest power there is and will not change my mind about that.  I do ask for prayer for Lex, she is the  twin sister of my SIL Zach. She was diagnosed with the virus and she is 3 months pregnant. Prayers for Amanda too. Also due in November 2021 but with natural triplets. My grandmother always said, God has the say if he wants babies in this world. I am excited for both of these sweet mom's. I ask God to put a protection over them and their loved ones.

13 And they were bringing children to Him so that He would touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. 14 But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, “Allow the children to come to Me; do not [a]forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” 16 And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them. the Book of Mark Chapter 10

A favorite photo of Nick from May 18, 2015 when Colton graduated from high school. Always so many good memories. I remember my own high school graduation. My father was a steel worker and he was not able to attend most school functions but he was able to attend my high school graduation. What a wonderful memory. I need to find and sort more photos as I know I have some with my dad that day.
Colton's graduation and Avery with his favorite girls. 2015 seems like yesterday for me.

This was true in Casey's day. Today....not so much. I see some pro catchers that can not seem to hang on to a baseball!

Ellen and Lorianne co host this sweet blog hop.  Here are this week's fill in's:

1. Lately, I've been ________________.

2. I find _____________fascinating.

3. If I had known______________,I would have_____________.

4. I can't help but ______________when I'm nervous.

I will show my answers here tomorrow. Come join the fun.

Hoping your night is filled with sweet dreams.

HAPPY TUESDAY

Humor is always a great thing to start the day off with. We have had so much rain that I need to dress in layers. It gets really cold. But our grass looks really great so that makes us happy. Aw...Mondays

I found this 1980 something photo of my sweet hubby with his mom Rita. They looked so cute with their coordinating shirts. It is hard to believe she has been gone since 2010.

A 1970 something favorite photo of my mom and me. I love this photo and keep it close. My mom always loved Mother's Day and all the holidays. She was a great cook and good parent. Missing her since 2001.

Sandee here is a Maxine for you and me and everyone who relates. The rain let up temporarily so I had a quick chat with my neighbor Carlene.  We complain about our solar situation. We can at least laugh about it.  She liked my new shoes so I came home and sent her the link.

In case you need some cute walking shoes these are great! They match my fancy pants I chose today.

The Serendipity Singers – Don't Let The Rain Come Down Lyrics

Chorus
(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
My roof's got a hole in it and I might drown
Oh, yes, my roof's got a hole in it and I might drown

There was a crooked man and he had a crooked smile
Had a crooked sixpence and he walked a crooked mile
Had a crooked cat and he had a crooked mouse
They all lived together in a crooked little house

Chorus

Well, this crooked little man and his crooked little smile
Took his crooked sixpence and he walked a crooked mile
Bought some crooked nails and a crooked little bat
Tried to fix his roof with a rat-tat-tat-tat-tat

Chorus

Now this crooked little man and his crooked cat and mouse
They all live together in a crooked little house
Has a crooked door with a crooked little latch
Has a crooked roof with a crooked little patch

Chorus

Chorus

(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
My roof's got a hole in it (my roof's got a hole in it)                                                   My roof's got a hole in it and I might drown

PHAMILY BUSINESS : I AM BACK IN MY BLOG BUSINESS

I know many of you so graciously stop by and leave your comments knew I was under the weather with food poisoning.  It was awful but I am much better and we just spent an entire 8 days with Hannah and Jake. Our baby girl and her hubby came here for Mother's Day. They drove 22 hours in their RV and we enjoyed wonderful memory making moments with them. If my father were in this world still, he would be so very proud of me. He always told me, don't invite anyone to your home unless you can offer them a cold or hot beverage or a meal.  My older middle brother Ed came to our home years ago, peeked inside our pantry and said, "you are our mother's daughter!"

Our first born girl Noelle and I on Mother's Day 2021. Jeremy, our first born son and his beautiful wife Brittany hosted a brunch in their new home. We were all together except our son-in-law Zach (Rebekah's hubby) who spent his day with his mom. He is a good man.  We had so much food, bacon and eggs, bagels, toast, stuffed French Toast and Cracker Barrel style cheesy hash brown with and without ham.   We had Rebekah's famous pasta salad and lots of great memories. Rebekah created a "MOMosa" Bar.  We ate, drank yummy drinks and enjoyed the company of some of  our grands and two of our great grands.

Those of you who know "the Mean Mugger" a/k/a Shea Shea or formally known as Shea Avery Marie . You know she is her own person. This lil lady turns 1 in three days. She is a fashion diva but set a long and steep staircase in front of her and she will scurry as fast as those chubby legs will carry her up the stairs. She knows no fear, smiles the biggest and brightest smiles she can make and she will mean mug you if she is not interested in you telling her the dirty word " N O "! She loves big brother Harrison but she is the spitting image of her "Angel" brother Alastor Avery. She is a daddy's girl and will steal your heart. Our grand boy Brody loves this child and he is not afraid to tell the whole world!

Hannah and Harrison spent a quiet moment while Brody looked on. What a terrific day we had. I kept thinking how proud my folks would have been to see us all together. A joyful day. Filled with blessings and good moments.

This big brother jumped off a cliff into the deep water in Mexico where he vacationed with his granmmies Lisa and Carolyn. Fearless and kind he is showing Duke, Jeremy and Brittany's pup some love on those long stairs up to the second level of their new home. Sharing with Aw...Mondays

Anyone who knows me well knows I do not go along with the wicked ways of this ole world. I am not going to be political.  I steer away from social media for that very reason but I found this quiz. It is generalized but my lifelong friend Carole (another good BoJon girl) shared this one having just lost her mom in late 2020. I took the quiz and came up with this answer. It was perfect. My parents demanded respect from all of us. My father was the kindest, most quiet, wonderful man. He worked 47 years in the CF and I Steeel Corp. But he made sure we were respectful and kind to all we encoutered. So unless you were raised without regard for others, you should have a common, basic courtesy of being a decent human being around others. Having attended Catholic school from k to 11 I made sure to mind. No one ever wanted to be in the path of Sister of Beatrice or Sister Zavier while they were swinging their yardstick! Worse yet, the metal edged ruler. Yet none of us ever had the desire to harm anyone else or commit a crime. I am extremely grateful for the education I had in parochial and Catholic high school. My parents had hardsghips of their own yet they never complained and made sure we were raised with faith in God, respect for others and kindness in our hearts.

Rebekah set up a Momosa sign at the brunch. We enjoyed champagne with different juices and fresh fruit and it was wonderful.

Rebekah had this made for me, a cupcake bouquet but she made sure the fellas had some chocolate cupcakes of their own. She is a good daughter, wife and general all around kind soul. She and Zach gifted me with two beautiful floral bouquests. Once my photos are organized, I will post more of the fun and wonderul gifts I received.

Rebekah and Hannah made freckle faces on Mother's Day 2021 on the way to Jeremy & Brittany's.

Noelle, Jeremy, Avery, myself, Rebekah, Nick and Hannah. This was us, Mother's Day 2021.

Avery Bear never tells a fib. He tells it exactly the way it is. We are loud and wacky and silly. We love to laugh, we crack jokes, we have fun and we love each other with every fiber of our being. I am guessing it is the BoJon and Irish mixed up blood the kids have.

I will end here and be back with more Mother's Day stories and photos. I am going to head over to  My Tata's Cottage too.  I will be sharing more stories there. Have a beautiful day and an  incredibly wonderful week and be kind.  This is a perfect share for Sparks

Love is...makes me smile when I think of all the time I was laid up from my neurosurgery, not once or twice but three times.  Anytime I am under the weather, there is Avery caring for me, like the sweet and kind man that he is. I love him and thank him for being so amazing.  Have a blessed and beautiful week everyone.

MAY FIRST 2021

April flew by and here comes May! Filled with happy moments and sad ones too. Avery and I will celebrate 37 years of marriage on May 3. May 6th would be the birthday for my late brother-in-law Gary and May 8 would be the 113th birthday of my favorite Uncle Louie. My Tata Rose passed away on May 12.  and Shea Avery Marie will turn one year old on the 19th.  My grandparents Joseph Kocman and Mary Videtich were married on May 22.  May is filled with many memories and bittersweet times.  Welcome May!

37 years of marriage today! It is the second time in our marriage I have been sick. I had food poisoning Friday and I won't go into that but I still feel wonky. So with a cold rainy day and the hubby busy as a bee at his office, it is a good day to rest.

We've had a good marriage, fun times and lots of sadness too. But all in all we have a strong bond and we enjoy our time together.

The older I get, the less time I want to spend with the part of the human race that didn't marry me. ~Robert Brault, rbrault.blogspot.com

What greater thing is there for two human souls, than to feel that they are joined for life — to strengthen each other in all labour, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting? ~George Eliot (1819–1880), Adam Bede, 1859

I know that marriage is a legal and religious alliance entered into by a man who can't sleep with the window shut and a woman who can't sleep with the window open. ~Ogden Nash, "A Definition of Marriage," 1948
