ALPHABE THURSDAY: POWER IN PRAYER

Welcome one and all to Mrs. Matlocks Alphabe Thursday! Please come join us on this educational and fun and so,etime tearful post.

I had a list of "P" words half a mile long! Exaggerate you say! Ah ha, never! There were purple pansies and pretty paper. Princesses, Paradise,Pineapples and Party people!I participate in Pink Saturdays! I purposely plan to prartically please you! I could list a list of "P" words to tickle your pancreas! But I decided considering what is going on in this crazy world of ours I should get serious and pray!

There is much power in prayer. I know, I have lived the highs and the lows and God is always gracious! Just yesterday I bought my hubby his favorite nut, pistachio nuts and I purchased a bag of double dipped peanuts covered in chocolate. I said, "Silly girl, you can't afford to buy this expensive stuff from the Mountain Man Lady! But when I came home from picking my son up at school, lo and behold there was a check from the State of Colorado. They had sent us our 2007 tax refund because we had been overpaying them! You have to know God listens when you pray and there is much power in prayer.

So you need to do me a huge favor! Please please please with cream and sugar on top and strawberries and lots of chocolate on the side, please participate in the National Day of Prayer tomorrow. Let God know you are choosing his team.

Pray for our government. Pray for our military, Pray for fellow bloggers and bloggettes. Pray that God will sustain you in this often tragic world. Pray for those who are homeless. Pray for children in school that they are safe. Pray, pray hard and then pray harder.

Pray for the victims of natural disasters. Pray that our political people in Washington will learn to pray before they speak. Trust God His timing is impeccably.

Remember never give up on God! He is always there for you even when it seems like He is not! It is always in those difficult times that He is carrying your heavy load.

Sometime I get frustrated because my prayer list is so long and I have many, many prayer journals everywhere in my home! But when I am overstressed I know He hears me and He picks up what I can not any longer carry.

I know I am a little serious tonight. But our world is in such distress. Please pray and know God is listening and know that there is so much to pray for in this world.

Thanks for sharing the letter "P" with me tonight.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”- Philippians 4:6-7
Today's passage is from the New International Version.

  28. Such a beautiful post. I do believe in the power of prayer...and the shared prayers for a beloved cause.

I've seen it. Witnessed it. Experienced it.

And although I am not a religious person I am a spiritual person...and I will continue to add my voice to prayers for so many things.

Thank you for a thoughtful post.

And for a mindful stop on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday's letter "P".

    A+

  29. Prayer is a p word that matters and makes a difference. I know it is a conversation and often supposed to be more about listening and changing me. But I am thankful too to have a gracious Father who hears every little thing on my heart.

  30. Amen. Very well said. That's one of my favorite bible verses at the end of your post too.
