Hi! Welcome to AlphabeThursday Soup. I started this post on the letter "G" so since I missed the letters A through F I want to take you on a quick trip through these letters. Please stop by here. You can thank our teacher Mrs. Matlock for hosting this weekly creative, funny, thought provoking and learning post. So here goes my tribute to the letters A,B,C,D,E,F.
A is for Angels. I love angels. I have lots of beautiful dolls and figurines that have pretty little wings and sweet delightful faces. But did you know that in the Holy Bible the only angels mentioned by name are men? Michael was a warrior and Gabriel was a messenger. Satan was a fallen angel and all three were referred to as males. In Luke 10:18 it is written "And He said to them. I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightening."NASB
In Jude 1:9 "But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment ,but said, the Lord rebuke you." NASB In Luke 1:26-38 Gabriel visited Mary and told her she would be the mother of the Son of God!
B is for bee. I love bees because they are always portrayed as cute little creatures when they have a lot to offer us. There are over 250 species of bees. I am fascinated by the honey bee and the fact that they work so hard to extract the honey that we drink with our tea. It is a quite a process and the bee is quite a busy little creature. Antonio Bandreas is the voice of the bee in the Nasonex nasal spray commercials. Jenrry Seinfeld made a movie about a bee.
C is for cookies. I love to bake cookies around the holidays. My hubby's all time favorite is the peanut butter cookie. I am partial to chocolate chip and my kids like the chocolate variety. My sister and I once made so many thumbprint cookies filled with jelly/preserve and rolled in corn flakes crumbs that we got sick! We had a dog who ate five dozen Chinese Noodle cookies! He took them right off the table on Christmas by pulling the wax paper sheets they were drying on and dropped all 72 of them into his mouth. We found him in the morning with a bloated belly burping butterscotch! It was quite funny and he never stole cookies again!
D is for Dolls! I love my dolls! I have dolls everywhere! My children have watched too many silly scary movies where dolls come to life and harm people! I have such an extensive collection of dolls I would probably be a wealthy woman if I saved instead of spent that money on them. But they are so cute that I have enjoyed them throughout the years. I did not have time to capture photos so I am showing everything here tonight in google images.
Here is Barbie as Lady Liberty, Ginny from the Vogue Company, Hazelyn and Lil Hero from the Paradise Gallery company and a pretty little schoolgirl doll that I purchased at the thrift store. She was perfect and I was buying different shoes for some dolls and showing the hubby. He was manning the grill and I was sititng on the patio. A breeze caught her and she fell flat on her face, which is no more. I feel so sad. :( She was so cute and her whole face is ruined. I e mailed a local doll hospital but received no response. I guess they have too much business!
E is for exciting. I am having an exciting time knowing everyone over here in blog land and every time I heard from you I get excited.
F is for fun. I have fun knowing everyone here and it is always fun to post with you. I will look forward to more fun soon!

ReplyDeleteGood job Anne! I missed many letters along the way, for one reason or another, but I didn't think to do this to catch up.
ReplyDeleteI love the doll wearing the Statue Of Liberty dress. I just took a NTC harbor boat ride the other day and took many photos of her.
Really enjoyed your bit about the angels. Society has made them cute and cuddly, but I always have pictured them in armor, how else could they protect me?
