Although my heart is heavy today, I am happy I was able to know Sally DiStefano. She was a terrific and very gracious hostess at Blue Monday for many years here in blog world. She passed away yesterday after numerous health issues. She loved blue and we all scurried to find some great blues to share with her. Sally never missed leaving a comment to each one of her participates. That is dedication and friendship at its finest.
Sally had a true heart for the Lord. She shared her Christian faith simply by being one of the kindest bloggers here. She never stepped back if you engaged her about her faith She stood proud.
Sally was married to John most of her life. They married very young and you knew how much she loved her hubby and the phamily. Sally did not fear death. I beleive she was excited to meet Our Lord and if the true is known about Sally, she may very well be painted some touches of blue across heaven today.
She put this on her Face Book page February 29, 2016. My last comment from her was regarding Blue Monday this week.
In case you are someplace cold today I hope this will warm your heart. I don't see our fearless leader Jenny posting this week for Warm Heart Wednesday but this is my share about my friend Sally. This lady truly warmed my heart with her kindness. I am going to miss you Sally, so until we meet again, xo. Come visit Beverly and share your anythink pink or blue in memory of Sally too!
bless you dear for sharing such a precious tribute.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss Anne. I didn't participate in this meme, but I ran on to many posts others did for this meme.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day. Big hugs. ☺
So sorry for the loss! Sorry that I did not know her blog! Bless you!
ReplyDeleteSweetest tribute

OH NO--thanks for the post, I knew she had been sick but not this.
ReplyDeleteGod bless her beautiful family.
Ann
Thank you for posting this. I participated in Blue Monday some years back but had fallen off the meme for some reason. I guess I can't keep up with more than 1-2 memes a week though I try. I'm sorry to hear Sally is no longer with us but so happy to know she was a believer and will be at peace. God be with her precious loved ones. xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a loss for the Blue Monday Blogging community and especially for Sally's family. Thank-you for posting this lovely tribute with the peace and assurance of Sally's carrying on in Blue Heaven. She will be so missed.

I am so very sad to hear that Sally died. Thank you so much for sharing, she was such a wonderful lady and will be very missed. Where did you find out about Sally? I very much appreciate your post today, God rest Sally's soul. She commented after the link up to her Blue Monday post on the 29th of February. She was happy right up to the end. I will be praying for Sally's Family. When she mentioned she had congestive heart failure I did wonder how she was doing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing such a wonderful post about Sally. If you don't mind I would like to put a link to your post on my post.
Joy

ReplyDeleteThank you Anne again, I went to Sally's Blog and read the comments from so many of her blogging friends.

I am so sorry and so saddened of this news. What a wonderful tribute. Sally was a wonderful person and it is a consolation knowing she is free of pain now in heaven. She will be missed. RIP, Sally!...Christine
ReplyDeleteOMG! I am crying, this is devastating news for me, as I just placed her party on my new post! I am so gonna miss this lovely lady in every sense of the word.

Wow, I signed when I read your comment. I can't believe this, because she wrote me on Monday - yeas about the blue sky!!
ReplyDeleteLast week it was Tina, EG Camera girl, and now Sally. Thank you so much for bringing me up to speed, Anne. I knew about her surgery, but she seemed so strong! And she was, and Tina too, because I remembered today that she knew God, because we were one time talkin back and forth about the X in Christmas. That is our comfort dear Anne in missing them, that we will see them again. They will be the ones welcoming us! Thank you for your tribute to Sally, Anne. You better stay for a while, here on earth, dear friend!
Anne,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you let me know about Sally's passing. I was shocked because she just hosted Blue Monday and I recieved a comment form her because I was able to link up this week. I was so saddened to hear of her passing. She and I had "talked" several times about being cancer survivors. I beleive she had had kidney cancer where I had a cancerous tumor in my ureter which is the tube that connects the bladder and the kidney. I was lucky and did not lose a kidney to cancer.
I will be doing a special post dedicated to Sally this Monday and I would love if you would also join me on Monday with a Blue Monday tribute to Sally.
She was one of the kindest souls in Blogland.
Hugs,
Deb
Hi Anne, thank you for the heads up on Sally. Your tribute to here was wonderful. As I read I began to feel that I had been missing out.
ReplyDeleteI never did Blue Monday but did Blue Wednesday for a couple-three years. Several have died from our blogging community as of late. E B Camera Girl and her husband died Feb 22 in a car wreck. You could read her obituary here: http://www.skwarchukfuneralhome.com/obituary/OD_16020019.htm
and her blog here: http://eastgwillimburywow.blogspot.com/

Anne,
ReplyDeleteI just did a post about Sally and asked bloggers to do a special Blue Monday post this coming Monday in honor of her. Please stop by and spread the word!!
Hugs,
Deb
Sally was awesome and one of the first linky party planners I ever joined in with - I have very little blue so didn't much, but thought the world of her kindness and faith.
ReplyDeleteThis is very sad, we bloggers are a family (phamily) and she will be sorely missed.
Rest in peace, dear Sally. I know there are beautiful blue skies where you went. We will be praying for you.

Ann, So happy to have you following me!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet tribute, dear friend! I miss you on FB!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice tribute Ann. I did not know her but she sounds like a very special person. You can be just as affected by losing online friends as face to face friends. I'm sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteI had met Sally on her blog a few years back then stopped blogging for a while. So sorry she is gone from the cyber-community. Lifting my heart in prayer for all her family and friends. Blessings to all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very dear tribute to your blogger friend. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Sally, but through what you have said, she must have been a treasure. I have lost a couple of friends since I began blogging about 7 years ago and it is heart wrenching. I am proud to know you. Thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog. I appreciate you following me. You warmed my heart.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Mona

ReplyDeleteWell done my friend. I am doing my final tribute Monday.
ReplyDeleteI was an occasional participant at Blue Monday, and it was always obvious how much Sally was devoted to her family. Beautiful tribute.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you dearest Anne, you sum up Smiling Sally so perfectly, we will all her miss her.
ReplyDeleteWren x
Dear Anne, You won't believe this but I was looking up your your blog when I noticed you commented on mine. Great minds think alike. Big smile here. Thank you for your kind comment.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely tribute to Sally today. She was a very special person and I miss her so much. Sally has so many friends in Blogland and her loss has been a shock to everyone. She did not want the sympathy and sadness so she wanted her illness kept very private. So like her to not want her friends too know. She is home with our Lord and at peace now.
I will be set up next Monday to carry on Sally's Blue Monday. I only pray I can live up to her wonderful spirit and her hosting in such a wonderful way.
Love,
Jeanne
My belated condolences to all. The world loses a bright light - and it shines in heaven now.
ReplyDeleteOh. Oh Anne.
ReplyDeleteI am so very, very, very sorry to read this.
She was definitely a light in the world.
So sad when the world glows a little less.
Thank you for sharing this very sad information.
I'm sending you hugs and love and prayers today.
I'm so sorry.
