Mother's Day has always been important to me. When my mother was on this earth she loved getting gifts although she always claimed she did not need a thing. I miss her and always will.
My mom always had her apron on. She spent a lot of time in the kitchen and she prepared wonderful meals. She took good care of our canine girls, Gigi and her daughter Renee. My mom could handle a crisis as quickly as she could cook a delicious meal! I remember once a neighbor dog got a hold of Renee while she was still young. Mom turned the hose on him but it was too late. Dad cried when both of her puppies were born too soon and passed away. My mom took care of so many people in her lifetime. I will never forget her attitude and the fact that I never heard her complain. Today I would love to visit with her one more time but perhaps in eternity. Miss you mom and love you very much.
My mother was a good parent but if she had to dole out punishment, trust me, she did. She also taught me many things. "With a friend like her, you will certainly never need an enemy." She always told me to have my own car, my own money and never be afraid to call home for a ride or help."Life is hard, pray harder."
I have always loved this photo. My mom always looked lovely with her hair done. She was many things to me.
My parents lived through the depression. They would be saddened to see the condition of our world today and where we are headed. History always repeats itself, my father taught me that! "A mother's love is a patchwork of the heart. " Author unknown
So we really do become our mothers?
Mom you were a beauty.
Mother is a name held sacred.
By most mortals of the earth;
It means great love and sacrifice
From the very day of birth,
A love that's so full of beauty,
So tender, so very true!
Something, seemingly, from Heaven
That has come to me and you.
There's no love so understanding
And so faithful to the end
As a Mother's love—God bless her!—
That to us our Lord did send.
