It seems I am always a day late. But I Love answering the questions here so please join Joyce and share your answers too. Happy Birthday to Joyce's mom. Those of you who still have your mother, you are so very blessed.
1. The Hodgepodge lands this year on National Secret Keeping Day (Wednesday July 7, 2020)...on a scale of 1 to 10 (with one being I'm a blabbermouth and 10 being I am a vault.) how good are you at keeping secrets?
I am a ten! I am a very good friend. I have a friend Sherrie, who is a super great secret keeper and my late friend Vivian who literally took many secrets to the grave with her. Joyce read about nine jobs for people that can keep a secret - cyber security worker, executive assistant, housekeeper, lawyer, nuclear plant technician, physician, private investigator, psychologist, security guard. Of the jobs listed, which one interests you most and why?
I think being a P.I. would be a great job, but in today's world, I am not sure how safe it would be. So I choose Psychologist. I am a people person and always was able to calm a patient down or a family member when I worked for Admissions. I am a good listener, so I do keep secrets.
2. What's the secret of life (or one of them anyway)?
I think faith. If you know and trust God life might throw curves at you but you will be better prepared to maneuver them.
3. Off the record, best kept secret, a fly on the wall, top secret, my lips are sealed, secret shopper, quiet as a mouse, poker face, spill the beans, open secret, bite your tongue...which secret idiom can you best relate to right now? Explain.
Bite your tongue. It is a difficult one in this chaos we live in. I express my thoughts sometime but I passionately love my country and am saddened to see it being torn down over politics. I turn to Scripture though and I know God's truths will prevail and this life will not.
4. Spill the secret ingredient to one of your favorite recipes.
My hubby's famous goulash. He uses a special pizza sauce instead of tomatoes.
5.Share a favorite quote, song lyric, saying or verse of scripture that will add some sunshine to her day (ours too).
This verse has helped me through many good times and bad times. I love it and hope it can add some sonshine to your day and your mom's.
6. Add your own random thoughts here.
I am thankful everyday for tea. It is a cure all for many things. I hope you visit Thankful Thursday and share some thankfulness.
An added thankful bonus. I love silly jokes and found this one on a popsicle stick. PLease enjoy a wonderful weekend.

Those were good answers, very interesting! We liked the Alley Cat humor too. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteThat alley cat is adorable. You have a wonderful weekend and stay cool. Hugs, Edna B.
ReplyDeleteI've kept a lot of secrets over the years too and some of them were hard to keep.
ReplyDeleteLove the alley cat one. It made me chuckle.
I hope you had a blessed Thankful Thursday, Anne. Big hug. ♥
Being a good listener is a gift not many people possess ... and so valued! I wanted to be a psychologist, but soon realized I'd never be able to remain impassive or impartial. I'll immediately feel empathy for someone or another, and it's "Katie bar the door." LOL!
ReplyDeleteThese verses you've chosen all speak to me. Thanks for joining in the Hodgepodge!
I am a good listener and secret keeper. Oh the stories i could tell from the things i have heard over the years! But my lips are sealed!.
ReplyDeleteLove you!
That is a cute joke!
ReplyDeleteWhile it was a job i fell into, not what i would have chosen, i am a housekeeper, and yes, i have to keep many secrets and confidentialities. The fact is, i have to be able to see something to pick it up and move it so as to clean under or around it, without really seeing, or noticing, what it is. After all, it isn't my business.
