Love is...

As a young wife and mother I always wished I could have stayed home full time with my children when they were younger. I know the women's lib movement would tear their hair out hearing this but even today now that my kids are older I really think this is the best career ever!
I was blessed because my Sweets and I passed in the doorway coming and going with our kids. We found a teen age babysitter who was very responsible so if our days overlapped she would watch the kids until the other parent got home! Our kids were always happy and healthy in their own home. It was the best situation we could afford!
So if you can bake cookies instead of having a career, just do it! I think your kids will appreciate your sacrifice, although they might not show it until later in life.
Recently my Sweets celebrated a birthday! Our middle daughter bought him a book titled "Why A Daughter Needs A Dad" (100 Reasons). It is filled with photos and simple verses about being a father to your daughter. Our middle wrote her own thoughts on sticky notes and placed them under the other quotes. It really made us both feel wonderful that having one of us always available to talk with her in difficult situations was a tremendous blessing.  She felt that we were always there for her no matter if she was having a good time or bad! We were glad we could be there for our kids when they were younger and now they can be there for us as we get older!
This little Love is...is tiny so I hope you can read it ok. Then you can visit Marydon and share your Love is...with all of us.
Now let me announce the winner of the Love is...Wild Ride Book filled with Love is...to use for your very own participation in the weekly Love is...
Drum roll! Kim B. is he winner of the giveaway! Woo Hoo!
I have always LOVED those too. I have a little plaque that I picked up at a thrift store. They are sweet as can be. I would LOVE to win the giveaway. Thanks for the bible verses on Love too. Have a wonderful day. Kim xx
This is the comment Kim B left regarding this giveaway! Congrats Kim! Get a hold of me with your address so I can send the book out ASAP!
Thanks everyone and stick around, I will be doing more giveaways!

He's Got the Whole World!

"In Him all things consist" Colossians 1:17

I have been thinking about the Lord and how he sustains our entire universe! As a young child I learned the song "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" and had it sung to me many times as a youngster.  I sang it to my own children and grandchild when they were small.  In Catholic school, a girl one year younger than me always portrayed the Christ Child during the All Saints Parade (November 1). Her mother made a beautiful costume which consisted of a while velvet cloak trimmed in fur and she wore a gold crown on her head! In her hand she carried a small replica of the world. I thought about it than and I still think about it today, how in the world does He manage it all? He is so amazing.
Think about the stars in the sky. "He counts the number of stars; He gives names to all of them." Psalm 147:4

But aside from keeping the cosmic system in order. He also sustains us. He makes sure were are never alone and is always available for each one of us.  He "gives life and breath to everything, and He satisifes every need." Acts 17:25.

He is an amazing God and He is readily available for anyone willing to turn their heart toward Him.
I hope you will stop by Charlotte and Ginger's . I hope you will join this wonderful encouraging post each week.

Lobster Bisque

What to post for Pink Saturday! I love pink so it was easy showing off lots of pinks I have around the house! I think the summer sun bakes a persons brain! I can not think and I am posting later on Saturday.
Before I continue my Pink Post please accept my heartfelt apology. I was suppose to draw the winner of my Love is...."A Wild Ride" book last night. But that trip to the dentist turned into a horror show! His hygienist was angry because I have a tongue that refuses to stay put. When someone is angry and trying to force a metal plate and x ray film into my mouth while I was sick with bronchitis and I gag so violently that the whole thing shoots out of my mouth twice! I would think you would say, hey this isn't working! Instead she continued to berate me and try to force the stupid thing inside my mouth belly aching that my tongue was driving her mad! They called the doctor in and instead of saying sorry to me he comforts her! Then they talked about growing up in the 70's and all the old furniture the doctor acquired from his folks to fill his house and the hygienist should borrow, blah, blah blah. for her 70's party she is planning! She finally stabbed my gums repeatedly with her dental tools trying to clean my teeth! I am never going back there! She talked indignantly to me and acted as though I was stupid! I was so upset.  Then had the nerve to use up my entire dental benefit for a cleaning and had the nerve to say I would have to come back another day because we ran out of time and the front desk said I would have to pay $78 out of pocket for the cleaning! If that was not bad enough I could not eat and today my teeth are so sensitive I could scream! My gums have bled for nearly 24 hours.
Because of this horrendous experience I was sick with a migraine and was unable to draw the winner! Again I am so sorry. I hope you will forgive me and come back by nine o'clock (MDT) to see who the lucky winner is!
Now I want to calm down and share a wonderful recipe with you. I hope you will try this delightful soup sometime. It is pretty in color, pink and it tastes divine! They serve this soup on the salad bar at Texas de Brazil!

Good Morning...I Have Been Thinking

I have missed two days of walking! I am sad! :(
I have a summer cold with bronchitis! Yuck! How I caught it I am sure I know. Have you ever been forced to work with people that do not respect you? They touch your things like rotten little kids with no manners! You can wash your hands and use tons of sanitizer on your hands and phone but....if they won't leave you alone they can make you sick! Literally!
So I am off to the dentist in about an hour attempting to get my teeth cleaned! Have you ever stuck a stick thru your eyeball? That is how I feel when I go to the dentist. They make you pay all the money for your services up front like a house of ill repute!
But I am up front too! I ask how many children the dentist has. Then I proceed to tell them that they need to know up front that I will not, let me repeat it twice, I will not pay for their children's college educations! I am funny that way!
Then you have to go out into the world and be surrounded by mean girls and disrespect and hatefulness. You see, many of you know I attended Catholic school. From K to 11 I was under their command. So I learned to get savvy and smart and that is why I have such a B I G opinion on things today! I am an outta the box kinda girl! I hate when people try to make me do things their way only! I like a bright and fresh perspective on life and work. I am very good at what I do. I have worked in the medical field since 1983! I kissed no ones toes in the process. I feel like you can not do a good job if you are constantly blowing your own horn and kissing up to the person in charge! When I attended Catholic school I made many life long friends. You have a special bond with these people. The popular rude girls will always be that way. The jocks and the geeks and the loners too. But I was never hateful or mean to any of them and therefore I can not tolerate mean people!
When I worked in the medical school I made fast friends. Ladies many years older than me. One of them Bea and I still connect. She is 81! She taught me to demand respect from the doctors. When I left the medical school for a different job on campus I was told by people interviewing me that they asked for references and were always surprised what that group of doctors said about me. They said if I came back and worked with them then would give me a bad reference so I would not leave them. It is called camaraderie. People you can trust, you can count on in the rush of life and work tumbling over your head! People that care! Wow! What a word! Caring! Lacking sorely in this world today. I went to work in the hospital in the Admissions Dept. as well as the emergency room! Talk about getting life experience. That is why things rarely bother me! I have heard them all! I made some of the most wonderful friends. Silly girls I still talk with today although one moved back to her stompin grounds in Texas! Another to Nashville! One still at the hospital! Another helping her hubby with their appliance business. That is friendship! Great times, sad times always helping each other in those difficult situations and laughing your pants off with them when times are terrific! The ins. co. Yikes! What a place, ranks up there with politicians and bankers, sleazy, corrupt mean and wicked! But the people stuck working there with me always had your back! That is team work.  Kindness and consideration. Words and actions sorely lacking today.
Now I am in a place where you can not get anyone to help you out. No watching your back! More like middle school with bullies! Whispering! Hatefulness! Acting like evil! I have a plaque someone gave me from the days at the ins. co. It simply says "How will I ever fly with eagles when I am stuck working with turkeys?"
I am thinking perhaps a change will be in store for me. Why? Because so many of you have taken risks and succeeded! My baby will graduate in May 2012! God willing if I am there at his side I may think about making a change for myself!
I have been a good person, working diligently without any succeed. Making the same money I had made in 1999! Yet times have been good and it is extremely difficult working around non believers and making me feel so hopeless there. I tend to lash out when I am cornered and I hate it! I hate being an untrue Christian. I want to live my life for the Lord. I do not want to worry about ridiculous things like reality T.V.  or inappropriate magazines littered around an office that should showcase  a professional atmosphere. I want to go somewhere that I can work hard and be treated with dignity and respect. Somewhere that someone will have my back!

Olly Olly Oxen Free

Oh My! I have not been playing alphabe Thursday lately! I don't want to dig up the muck and share so I will try to be nice and share some fun with you! Oh, the bad things happen at work! Yuck! Enough said! My oldest daughter always says "Shut the f..........ront door!" I love it, I will!
Do you remember Olly Olly Oxen Free? As a kid we played so hard and had so much fun ! We were not overweight or inactive. We were simply kids and we played hard! I know times have changed and kids can't be as foot loose and fancy free as we were! But they can still play these fun games! I will give you a bit of history on "olly olly oxen free" and then you can go share with Jenny! She is the outtasight teacher we have at Alphabe Thursday! She is such a devoted blogger and I love knowing her! She can always make you smile and she shares the best things with us!
Olly olly oxen free is a catchphrase! It is used in children's games like hide and seek and when it is called out players who are hiding can come forward and not lose the game! It is thought to derive from the phrase "All ye all ye outs in free". In other words all who are "out" may come in without penalty.  However this may not be the etymology at all--olly olly oxen free is suspisously close to the German phrase of "Alle alle auch  sind frei.  Its meaning is everyone everyone is free.Various calls used for such purposes go by the collective name  of ollyoxalls in some places.
The phrase can also be used to coordinate hidden players in the game kick the can. In this game a group of people hide within a given radius and a "seeker" is left to guard the can filled with rocks. The seeker has to try to find the hiders  without allowing them to sneak in and kick the can. In many areas the phrase used is "All_y  All_y in come free. This is a way to tell the remainder of the players that it is time to regroup.in order to restart the game. The phrase is annouced by a player who successfully sneaks in and kicks the can!

Blue Monday Love is....

Hee Hee! This Love is...is so precious. It is a good reminder of the coolness of splashing around the swimming pool when the temps are rising above 95 plus degrees! Whew! What a cool refreshing way to entertain yourself.
Come join the Love is... fun with all the girls. Stop by Marydon's and check everyone out. Then go visit Sally . We all have been praying and rooting for her since her ordeal with her health began over a month ago! Keep hanging in there Sally and we will wish you a beautiful blue Monday!

We have been working in our two car garage since summer started. We had a wet Spring so we could not get out there. I think by September we can put two cars in the garage! Yea for us!
I found this pair of  blue stems. I think they are so sweet. I think there were four because one was broken inside a felt bag but the 4th one is nowhere to be found.

I hope you like them. I don't know a thing about them. They had tags that said "China" on them but they came off when I gave them a good bath!

Say hello to Sally and come join some blue fun!
Remember to leave a comment and be a follower so you can enter my Love is...giveaway. I am giving away a copy of the sweet little book "Love is...A wild Ride" which has lots of sweet Love is...cartoons to share with all of us!

Pretty Pinks

I love how the pinks reflect the water like a pink mirror at 5:30 A.M. where we walk daily and my Sweets runs! It is so peaceful and relaxing. I thought I would share these photos with you for Pink Saturday. Please stop by and visit Beverly and all the pinkies this weekend.
Then stop by  Charlotte and Ginger's and share some encouragement with them this weekend. Many of us enjoy the blessing of spiritual fellowship each Sunday.
Here are two verses I wanted to share with you today:"He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea." Job 9:8
"May you blessed by the Lord the maker of  heaven and earth." Psalm 115:15

Love is....

The first five years that I knew my Sweets and the first five years we were married I sent him a card weekly in the mail. He still has tons of them hidden around the house in boxes and his t shirt drawer. I never stop telling him how much he means to me. How much I love him! He shaved off his mustache after wearing it for nearly 30 years! I laughed out loud because our middle was the only one who noticed. He got a new haircut yesterday and then came home and shaved the mustache! He sat with me a full hour and I never noticed! Duh! But the intuitive one noticed! We had to tell the others! They were clueless like their mother! LOL!
The fridge has always been a place for us to post love is...to each other and to our kids.
I have a few more things to share today. Happiness! Sadness!
I have had some thyroid issues lately and if you look at me I will cry! Then if you make me laugh I can't stop. Unsure that it is totally insanity but hopeful the dear doctor I work with can get this dosing right. He upped my Synthroid and said we can recheck the labs in six weeks. I am eating one full meal a day and working out hard. We walk at the lake and today I hit 2 1/4 miles! Sweets runs, he is mad about running! While I am talking to bullfrogs and beavers and ducks he runs by just smiling! But a sweet country friend told me she and her hubby talk to the animals on their walks in the country so I am not alone! I found myself singing Smokey to sleep with "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" and "Mockingbird". Now those of you that know Smokey know that this sweet and silly patriotic dog (born three years ago July 4th) weighs 75 lbs. So having him lie in our king size bed, well, let us just say, he is a bed hog!
Here is my favorite T.V commercial. I love this little girl! She reminds me of myself as a small child.
Do you eat your Cheerio's? I love 'em! Sometime I like a banana sliced in the bowl. Other times just plain. I also love the Honey Nut and Whole Grain Cheerio's.
Linda told us recently that precious Baby Ellianna passed away on July 14th. I was so sad. Having lived with a V.P. Shunt inside my head since 1984 I know firsthand the pain and suffering it caused me and still does sometime today. But this was an innocent little baby girl. I am happy knowing she is safe in our Saviors arms but my heart aches for the parents Mark and Hannah and the siblings. Life can be so unfair. My mom used to say "Life is hard, pray harder." I am praying very hard for them today. Please join me.
My Sweets is in the kitchen. He just put a huge pot of green chili on to cook. Now he is contemplating the new veggie juice he is going to whip up for us! Yesterday I dropped him off at the hair cutting place and ran a quick errand. He walked across the street to the Natural Grocery and when I arrived a few minutes later he was walking out the door with a bouquet of kale! Whenever we buy kale I always thank him for my lovely bouquet! Kale is so healthy for you.
My middle just told her dad when she is in the bathroom her sister sends a book under the door and tells her to read it! Then she moons her with the hand mirror! I will tell you, they did not learn that from me!
Nick is heading out the door to work. He has been getting lots of hours. It is 98 degrees outside. Pray the power stays on. If it fails they will die from heat exhaustion and I am mortified at the people that curse at them when their pizza's are late. Last week a flash flood hit the street where the pizza place is. Jeremy said people were walking in the water up to their chest! When the fire dept. finally got the water to recede (bad sewer systems) he delivered a pizza to a brutal woman who stiffed him on the tip and said "It's about time". Obviously she is in a private world from the rest of us.
A friend recently said to me that she thinks people around the world are so fearful of the horrible state of the economy that they lash out at each other.  It is something to think about.
My kids will pay $800 more a semester for college this year. We will also pay the full ride for children of parents who came here illegally and made no effort to right that wrong. But when our own government won't stop the madness what can a country do? A dear friend in Texas prays daily for her son, a man with a wife and young children protecting the borders in Arizona. My daughters life long friend has a brother holding down the same job with a young wife and child also.
Pink wrote a song called "Dear Mr. President". Personally she could have added Bill Clinton's name to that song that she dedicated instead to George W. or our current leader of the (keep your fingers crossed folks) free world.
I like Eminem and although I am not fond of the language he colorfully uses in his music I know where he is coming from. His song "Not Afraid" is something I think  people should adopt in their thinking: "I'm not afraid to take a stand." Combined with praying harder I think we might just win this battle that is raging all around the world. When my kids see me listening to and reading the lyrics from his music they say "Where is my mother and what did you do to her?" If you don't pay attention to what your kids are doing someone else will.
The girls friend Dan is back from a quick two month European tour of duty with the U.S. Navy. He says Spanish women in Spain are more beautiful than other women. I like learning little tidbits like that from a youthful perspective!
I heard a local interview with Larry King. Talking about all the U.S. presidents he interviewed in his day! His favorite and most relaxed and fun, George HW! I was a bit surprised. He seemed so reserved and gave his son "W" such little attention and no affection. The most intelligent- Richard Nixon. I have to agree, he ran for the presidency when I had my very first opportunity to vote. He certainly knew his foreign policy and military strategy and at least he ended the Vietnam War. The cockiest, Barack! Larry said he was full of himself!  I would have thought Bill Clinton shared that billing! My favorite president was JFK! I was a small child when he was elected and I remember watching him through the airport fence in my hometown. He cared about people and I loved that he cared about the well being of children and implemented the physical fitness programs in schools. He also had a genuine love for all people no matter  their race.  The Federal Reserve despised him and he sadly died so violently. My second favorite president, Gerald Ford. Although he was not a stunning speaker,  he spent a small amount of time in the Oval Office and truly cared about people too. A Dem and a Repub. You won't find first class guys like them in this world anymore. I am always shocked when people say "Obama is so charismatic!" Goodness, I want to say does he follow a cult?  Is he going to brainwash me? So who is your favorite president? I don't care what party you follow, if you do, I just like learning new things about my friends!
I hope you didn't mind this lengthy post today. I felt so disconnected that I had to jump in and pour my thoughts out to you.
I am going to close with a final video. This is a song I love to walk with. It makes me feel happy.
Remember to leave a comment and be a follower to be entered in my Love is...giveaway. I will giveaway the book Love is...A Wild Ride on July 29th.

I've Been Thinking

"But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one." 1 Thessalonians 3:3

Welcome to Spiritual Sunday. I have missed a few weeks and I often think I will prepost and than publish my post in a more timely fashion but I like to live in the moment.

So I was thinking, the Lord is good and faithful. He is always watching our back. He keeps us safe in His loving arms and yet we often try to take care of ourselves and when we do we tend to mess things up!

It is hard to rely on God but is it harder to try to solve life's problems on our own. I thought this verse today really hit the nail on the head!

God is good. He is faithful. He will never leave or forsake us. I remember those words from my first week at kindergarten. That was many years ago and yet they have stuck to me.

I hope you will remember them and keep my close to your heart. You always have a friend for life. One that will never leave you or forsake you.

Please join Charlotte and Ginger and thank them for their faithful service each week preparing for Spiritual Sunday.  If you have a moment please stop by a delightful friend I know here in blog world. Her name is Simone and she has a wonderful story to share.

Thank you for stopping by.

Simple Deduction

Gotta love this logic!

After the Packers / Bills game, Buffalo released quarterback Trent Edwards.

During the Packers / Eagles game, the Packers injured Philadelphia quarterback Kevin Kolb.

Philadelphia then had to play backup quarterback Michael Vick.

During a playoff game against the Eagles, the Packers injured Michael Vick and another backup was needed.

After the Packers / Cowboys game, Dallas fired Wade Phillips.

After the Packers / Vikings game, Minnesota fired Brad Childress.

Four weeks after losing to the Packers, the 49er's coach Mike Singletary was fired and replaced.

During the Bears Playoff game, the Packers injured Jay Cutler and backup Todd Collins.
forcing the Bears to go with 3rd string quarterback Caleb Hanie.

Question: Is it just me, or did the Packers create more jobs than Obama last year?

Hey don't get mad if you love the prez. I am neither a Dem or a Repub. I am an independent voter!  But my Sweets boss who is a black man from Madison, Wisconsin sent this to him! I think he is right!

It is a good chuckle today! The way our world is moving so out of control you need to take a break and smile. Laughter is truly the very best medicine!

Blue Skies

Here is a picture of the sky this morning at 6:05 A.M. when I started my walk around the lake. The second photo is the run off point of the lake where we walk and run each morning. I can never get close enough to any of the birds to get a close up shot. But we see so many different species of birds. It is such a fun experience. The earlier we go the more birds we see! They seem to enjoy the cooler temps as well. We have been getting lots of rain late in the day. So the lake is filled but I worry this weekend when the rain leaves and the temps soar it will recede.
Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain.
The Lord will make flashing clouds;
He will give them showers of rain,
Grass in the field for everyone.
Zechariah 10:1
I am a day late but adding this to Blue Monday. I hope you will remember Smiling Sally in your prayers as she is still hospitalized. Please stop by and visit Smiling Sally soon.

Love is...

I always loved these sweet cartoons that are still featured in newspapers across the world. In the 1960s Kim Grove drew these sweet little characters for her beloved Roberto Casali. Roberto passed away from cancer in 1976 and Kim passed away in 1997. They had three sons, and their son Stefano keeps  the Love is... in print still today. There is not a lot of info about Kim but an interesting fact is that she and Roberto had two sons and she was artificially inseminated after his untimely death and that produced their third son. I thought it would be good to share what info I have collected about Kim. I have two of her books filled with these cartoons. she was born in New Zealand and lived and passed away  in the UK. At one time she and Roberto both lived in the USA illegally trying to find work so they would be able to settle here.
I hope you join all the participates of Love is....including Marydon, Sherry,Tete and Rita. We have such fun posting these sweet cartoons for you to see! Come join us please !
In memory of Kim's wonderful artistic talent I will give away a gently used copy of her book Love is..A Wild Ride. All you need to do is post a comment here and be a follower. Easy peasy!  I will draw a winner on July 30th! So you have lots of time to join the fun and leave comments. I am adding a button to my sidebar so feel free to share it with everyone. These little books are sweet as can be!
In honor of Love here is my Spiritual Sunday contribution. I love searching my bible for Scripture and here is a list I compiled about love:

"If you love me, keep my commandments." John 14:15

"Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for his friend. "John 15:1

"Let brotherly love continue.Be not forgetful in entertaining strangers:for thereby some have entertained angels unaware."  Hebrews 13:1-2

"Love worketh no ill to his neighbor:therefore love is the fufilling of the law." Romans 13:11

"Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honuor preferring one to another."  Romans 12:10

I hope you find some love in these verses today and stop by to thank Charlotte and Ginger for hosting the weekly meme Spiritual Sunday.

Scrapbooking Colors

Good day! Welcome to my contribution to Pink Saturday. I would hope you will stop by and thank Beverly for her generosity in hosting this lovely meme each week. We just celebrated three years of pinkness. I hope you like what I have today.
My oldest daughter is currently looking for different employment and they will be moving closer to us. It is such a wonderful but bittersweet time. Sometime you need to make choices that will make you happy and leave those things behind that have made you miserable. I hope she and I will have many days of scraping fun! I selected some wallpaper above to use because the summertime at our house is filled to the brim with birthday celebrations. I have lots of photos that need to go into our phamily album. You can tell I like pink because so many of these papers have pink in them. I also love butterflies and can see them here.
Enjoy and then go visit a few pinkies. Jeanne is one of my favorite stops each week. She always has some kind of wonderful to share with us. She is the kind of backyard neighbor that we would all love to share some summertime pink lemonade with. Go visit her today.

In Flanders Field

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow,
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Shot days ago.
we lived, we felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Click here to read the story behind this beautiful, simple poem written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae M.D. (1872-1918) Canadian Army

Please make sure to read both of my 4th of July posts I put up. Also check the Box Tops for School post so you may help those devastated by flooding in Minot, ND. They are in dire need of these to rebuild their schools, six which were lost in the flooding.
Thanks to all who have read it and are sending their box tops to North Dakota.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

Please be safe and enjoy your Independence Day!

"The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father's God, and I will exalt Him." Exodus 15:2
The Charge Of The Light Brigade

by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Memorializing Events in the Battle of Balaclava, October 25, 1854
Written 1854

Half a league half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred:
'Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns' he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

'Forward, the Light Brigade!'
Was there a man dismay'd ?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd & thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack & Russian
Reel'd from the sabre-stroke,
Shatter'd & sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse & hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wonder'd.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred!

Love Is...

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast., it is not rude. It is not self seeking., it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Please enjoy the "Generation Love"video featuring Jennette McCurdy and wish our youngest daughter Hannah a happy 20th birthday tomorrow! We will be eating cake! I wanted this video to tie into the Scripture I used for Spiritual Sunday and show you that many young people today are doing their part to make our world a better one.

Come join all the fun with Love is... Marydon and all of us .

Visit Charlotte and Ginger and join the spiritual blessings each week. These two ladies offer so much encouragement to us hosting this each week.

I hope my contribution of the red, white and BLUE pinwheel will send you over to Smiling Sally and Blue Monday. Please keep Sally in your prayers as she is having a setback from her recent surgery and we need to rally round our "Blue Monday" leader. Thanks

I hope you will read the previous posts too. I am sending my Box Tops to Minot ND. They lost six schools in the flooding. This is an easy way to help a community starting over. Then remember this weekend is Independence Day in America. Count your blessings because currently we can still enjoy our freedom.
