Praying, Thinking, Hoping

Today my hubby found out his younger brother had a stroke. He is living alone in Bozeman, Montana. He had the flu and fell and hit his head on a dresser. He had internal bleeding and they found out he had  a stroke when he made it to the hospital. He has no insurance but he is a Veteran of the US Navy and spent eight years in the military. My sister-in-law is taking charge. She wants to go up there and help out. Please pray. We are all struggling but pray she can get up there and help him out. I am grateful my hubby talked with his sister. It is a good thing to stick together during these difficult times.
Pray for Nick too. He and his team mates run indoor track at Kansas City tomorrow at 7 P.M. They will run in the Johnson County Cavalier Cup in Overland Park, Kansas. We are sad we can not be there either. But pray they all run well and they travel to and from the meet safely.
Tomorrow I am hopeful to get back to blogging as I started my Alphabe Thursday post. I have had my mind on all the tragedies going on around us. But my heart has been on the Oklahoma City Bombing. It has been weighing heavily on my mind since the latest shooting and with the Aurora Shooting trial going on here I am having a tough time thinking about much else.
So I am praying, thinking and hoping.

"Be still and know that I am God. " Psalm 46:10

From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2

You are so right that there is so much going on around us that it is hard to be encouraged but we can be. Iron sharpens iron so we can boost one another up. I am praying that your brother in law pulls through and begins to heal from his stroke. I am learning that what can be meant to harm, God can call into blessing. Praying that that is what happens with your brother in law. Cheering on your son during his race!

Anne will keep your brother in law and family in our prayers.
It would be so easy to become overwhelmed by what is going on "out there".
Wishing you a blessed new year. (())

Anne, thanks for your sweet comment on Zip A Dee Doo Dah-we never knew anything either about slavery when we sang this song. I will put your BIL on my prayer list and Nick is close to us tomorrow-wishing him good travels.

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother in law. I do have an idea but not sure if it would work or not. Is there a Veteran's Hospital near where your sister in law lives? They might can transfer him there and she could take care of him easier from there and her home. There's a Veteran's Hospital about an hour and a half from my house and a Veteran's Home about an hour away.

Hugs,
Angela
