Pink Saturday

 Pink Saturday

Had to change up my post today. Hearing of the passing of one of the happiest musical talents I loved, Jimmy Buffet on September 1, 2023 I had to share him here.

I can only hope he is sailing away with the angels into absolute glory. A real paradise. Tomorrow we will share a cheeseburger in his memory. Rest easy sailor and sail on.

Last week in Las Vegas we sang along to a young married couple at the dueling piano bar with two blondes. They played some Buffet and we sang our hearts out!

If there is a heaven for me , I am sure it has a beach attached. Jimmy Buffet

Sail on sailor.

John 5;24

Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my Word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life,  and does not come into judgement but has passed out of death into life.

Memories and Birthday and More

 Pink Saturday

A perfectly pink Pinterest find. Such a cool car.

We are both vintage these days and finally Avery caught up with me. He is in the 6-8 club. It was a wonderful day.

We shared lots of memories and phamily time today. Everyone but Hannah and Jake celebrated at the Olive Garden with us.

Rebekah took this shot and I caught this one:

We had a pie birthday party at home later in the day. All in all it was so good to be with those we love.

These 4 make a cute advertisement for our lunch place today. Can you guess where we were?

My dad and Avery shared the same birthday July 23. There is never a day that goes by that I don't miss my dad. He was my favorite baseball guy. He is in his heavenly home and that gives me great comfort.

Where O death is your sting?

Feline Friday

Feline Friday Mister Kitty is very nosy.  He escaped out the door when the hubby was warming the Jeep. .  Boy did he make a beeline back into the house. It was 30ish outside. He lives and he learns. But this female cat has been hanging around.  Nick shot her with a water spray bottle as she was creating a loud scene! This was at 2 A.M. Poor kitty, no one who cares for her. Ack........
Happy people have happy kitties.
Here are the Fill- In Questions thought up by these two fabulous ladies Ellen and Lorianne.

1. I wish I Had been alive during ____________.
2. My favorite way to have apples is____________.
3. I was sad to find out that ___________.
4. ___________isn't rocket science.

My answers:

1. I wish I Had been alive during Annie Oakley's day. She will always be my childhood hero because she had grit and determination. She was very pretty too.

2. My favorite way to have apples is sliced thin and sometime dipped in caramel dip. My mom use to bake them and I Loved the cinnamon dots she would add. Hmm....a good memory.

3. I was sad to find out that 911 happened. I was also saddened to read so many books by widows and learn more truth than I wanted to.

4. Kindness isn't rocket science.
Please visit Pink Saturday. My friend Barb sent me some of this delicious tea. It is appropriate for Pink Saturday don't you agree?
I am always happy when I have my favorite teas.

Feline Friday with Pink Saturday and Friendly Fill In's

I have some silly humor to share so I thought, why not share a silly cat humor too? Please visit Feline Friday I am always running late. I started to wait for the solar electrician but he never arrived. I imagine he is up the street finishing another house project. Oh well, I started to watch the MLB programs waiting for the Braves vs. the Nationals game. Then I started to listen to my own Mew-Sic. I also worked on my ancestry.com trees for a bit. It is hot today, in the 90's but Tuesday we are expecting some snow!
As  life long Colorado natives we are aware of the bizarre weather patterns we have. So we roll with it and keep the cold weather gear close by. Let's hope we don't need to apologize to Elsa:
HaHaHa....she will send the snow! Shhh........
Ellen is taking a break as she lost her precious Polar Bear kitty. Our condolences to you and all your fur babies Ellen. I wanted to borrow the images from Lorianne so I could share this precious boy.
This beautiful image was created by Ann for Ellen during this sad loss. Thanks Ann, your creative and kind heart is a joy we all love seeing.

Lorianne will share with us this week but both of these fantastic ladies thought up the questions.

1. To __________or not to ___________? is a question I ask myself.

2. I wish _________would _______.

3. I'm on the fence about ___________.

4. If you don't __________you won't _________.

My answers:

1. To wake a sleeping or not to wake a sleeping kitty is a questions I ask myself.
Mister Kitty rolled on his back while I used the zero gravity on my bed. But I do not fall for his       phoney behavior. He will bite and scratch and he can be ornery. So I said I can wash the gray soft cover on our bed til tomorrow. No rush, no worries.

2. I wish the weather would it's mind up.
I don't want to go from 95 to 14 in a matter of days. I want Fall! I want Autumn! I want to enjoy the warmth of the cooler but sunny days.

3. I'm on the fence about lots of things going on in the medical field.
I use to trust doctors. But since I am still suffering from sinus issues I am searching new alternative ways to feel better and get rid of the gunk and junk!

4. If you don't take a chance you won't succeed at anything.
I am not artistic but I buy American Girl dolls and I buy them used.I would love to learn how to restyle their sometime messy hair. I buy new clothing for them and like to pose them but I recently found a mother/daughter duo at ebay and Facebook that recreate these tired dolls. Their finished product is wonderful and the dolls are gorgeous.  I will see where this takes me.

These pink skies were the prettiest I captured, although the phone photo is not doing it justice. This was back in March 2016 when life was so much better. Please visit Pink Saturday
KYGO 98.3 FM radio has these  humorous shares at Instagram. This one caught my eye because I literally say this to the hubby when we are driving through our neighborhood.
This is maddening, herding us through like cattle. Hmmm.....repeating history? I like this thoughtful expression instead. Have you ever had a funnel cake? I use to make them when the kids were small along with Indian Fry Bread. They are pricey in amusement parks and we learned how to make them at home. The ingredients are few and cheap to make so why pay $10 for something you can whip up at home? If you have a plastic funnel you have it made!

Feline Friday and Friendly Fill Ins

Nick's girl Rose was a real character. She had serious catitude! Her entire life she could hold her own. She was not afraid of the dogs or the big man cat. She could have been a left handed girl like me, because she had a serious left hook and she was not afraid to clock you. I miss her everyday. She left us last year, 2019, a year of too much loss. But her memory will be with me always. Miss you Rose. I hope you visit Feline Friday
You know Ellen and Lorianne host Friendy Fill Ins. Here are today's fill in's:

1. My latest obsession is____________.
2. I am so over ___________________.
3. I'm skilled at ___________________.
4. I'm not very good at _____________.

My answers are:1
My latest obsession is nothing really. I don't obsess with anything. Nothing worth too much effort these days. Downsizing things but moving at a slower pace.

2. I am so over all the politics and liars and all the rest.

3. I'm skilled at kindness. I don't have any other unique skills. I do love my hubby though! I love him the most.

4. I am not very good at lying. Never have been, never will be - a liar.
I like Friday because the hubby will be home in a few hours and that is where my joy is. With him. If you could be a flower, what flower would you be?
I would be a carnation. They seem to have a long life.

Sunflowers  are cheerful. They are hardy. If you can get them to grow they also produce sunflower seeds and they make for a good snack.  Now if you could be an animal what animal would you be?
I would be a horse. Not a race horse or really hard working horse but I would love to be a horse that was loved and cared for by one person. They would groom me and fed me and ride me and tell me they loved me. I think that would be perfect.
This is a sweet pink cottage. What color cottage would you live in? Stop by Pink Saturday Say hello and if you love pink share some. I wish I had a photo of my aunt Mima's house. It was a pretty pink stucco house in the country. I always loved to visit her. She was my dad's older sister and the second to last sibling to live a long life. I wish I could see her house today. Someone told me one of her daughter-in-law's lives in her house today. All of her children are gone too and my Uncle Sam. He was a very quiet man but always so kind.

Do you ever have these days?

PINK SATURDAY

Pink hair, don't care! Her hair is beautiful. I am a huge fan of pink. Particularly in clothing and lip colors.
Molly Ringwald was "Pretty in Pink". The movie was quite sweet and she designed her own prom dress. She was perfect for the part.

The country singer Kacey Musgraves has a perfectly pink living room.
Marilyn Monroe looked pretty in pink.
Everything looks good in pink!

This beautiful pink bouquet comes from a florist in Boston, MA.

PAT and RACHEL

My favorite photo of my late sister Pat. She would have celebrated a birthday  March 27th. Her leaving this world too soon in 2001 is still hard for me to fathom. She was a wonderful person. A good daughter, sister, wife and mother. She was also a grandmother and if she could see her grand babies today and a great grand baby she would be so happy. Her great grand girl Paisley Joe is the spitting images of her. She would have loved that. Her grand daughter Racheile is another looker. A real beauty. My sister would flip to see herself in such a remarkable young woman.
My sister was a real hero to me. She could sew like a dream and she was funny and had a beautiful laugh. I will always miss her while I am here.
Outside her home in Radcliff, Kentucky. She had a green thumb and her yard was always so beautiful.
The loss of a child is devastating. Now I am no expert, but I have seen grief on faces of parents who have lost a child, including my own mother who suffered the loss of my sister before her own passing, 9 months later. But losing an unborn child hurts too. My baby girl Rachel was taken back in 1987 and I still miss her because I wonder what she would look like. What she would be doing with her life.
Our little girl went back to her heavenly home on March 27, 1987. It is a pain and grief you can never understand unless you yourself have felt this grief. I remember the kind souls who came forward and shared their own stories of loss with me. It was about the only comfort I had than.

Love is...has always given me joy and comfort. I love the little cartoons and miss the talented original writer and artist. She was amazing.
I thought I would smile today and share this silly cat photo with Feline Friday I have heard you can train a cat to use the toilet. HaHa! My big boy is too busy being dramatic when he needs a fresh drink of water from the faucet. This google image was a smile maker.
We are expecting snow. Supposedly heavy and wet.  Crazy weather but in Colorado no lack of moisture. My mountain friends have photos to prove they have been hit with lots of the white stuff this year.

Stop by Pink Saturday and share your pink too.
