Birthday Fun/ Blue Monday/ Aw...Monday/Love is...

I love when the sky looks like this. I think fall is going to be early this year. We had picture perfect weather the past two days.
Rebekah and baby Michael. He is the best baby ever! We love being with him.
Jayden and his floaties at the pool. He had a birthday pool party yesterday and although he celebrates his fourth birthday on September 12th it was early to celebrate.
Michael is beautiful in blue and his smile is amazing. Love this tiny baby.

This spider man balloon looks so real. I thought he came to visit the party. He looks great in blue too. It sets off his red web shirt and mask.
Balloons and gifts for Jayden's fourth birthday party. Lots of blue in here.
Lots of spider man things to add to the celebration.
Even SPider-Man as a pinata made the day filled with candy and fun!
A Spider-Man costume is in order for Jayden's fourth birthday celebration.
Jayden had so much fun and he stopped after he opened each gift to thank each recipient and hug them. He has the best manners. Make sure Sally and the Blue Crew see your blues too.
Leo enjoys visits from his cousins, Smokey, Stella and Bandit. He gets so sad when they leave because he loves to run and play all day with them. Please  join Sandee and everyone at Aw...Monday.

Today I wanted to chill out, kinda like this, but instead we worked hard, in the garage and then cooked a huge barbeque for the kids. We had fun but now we are tired. Love is...so precious when spent with those we love.
I hope everyone had a blessed and beautiful Labor Day weekend and you are all safely tucked in tonight. Have a  beautiful week.

Waiting...

My mind is wandering....all day today. Yesterday we sat and watched the judge read the verdict in the Aurora Theater Shooting trial. Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty,!  The judges voice trailing off, was lost inside my mind, I was playing out those lost, those injured, those forever changed by violence so brutal...My heart breaks for the families of those lost. My heart aches for the families dealing with the severity of their injured loved ones. Life is cruel and people take to social media.
The beautiful hearts that did not survive the massacre. within days of the shootings I could tell you things about each one of these wonderful souls.  But I would not and I will not give the shooter the courtesy of looking at him. Why does the mainstream media turn the attention to the killer. When people want to kill they will find a way. We do not need protests, we need love, we need kindness, we need to remember those who died so tragically! Let me recap my thoughts almost three years after that fateful night:
Jon Blunk, smiling, happy, living life. He put himself in harms way to save the life of his friend. A.J. Boik, Nick's age, graduating high school 2012. Excited, heading to college, holding close to the one he loved the most! A.J. loved purple, those attending his funeral were asked to wear purple. He would have liked it and he would have smiled. Jesse Childress, quiet, smart, funny! Jeremy had played flag football with him. A loss so difficult for his family they asked for privacy and to be left to their own thoughts and grief. Gordon Cowden, threw himself on his two children to protect them, to save their lives, he died doing so.One of his daughters says the last words she heard him say were  "I love you, I love you both." Jessica Ghwai, a bright shining star. Life was good, shortly before the shooting she had been in a food court at a Mall in Canada  weeks earlier, where someone opened fired on the crowds of people. She had just left the area. Her mother wears her scarf. She said she feels Jessie's hugs because the shooter took away the real ones she should have.  John Larimer, a Navy man! Happy, smart, enjoying an evening out. Gone in a moment. everything to live for taken away from him and all the others in a moment. Life is cruel, it is fleeting. Matt McQuinn enjoying a date with his best girl. Guarding her from harm, taken way too soon. His family left to grieve.  Wanting a reason why. It will never be given to them. Micayla Medek, pretty as a picture. Working at Subway, loving her title "Sandwich artist". Attending college, trying to live a young girls dream. The picture of her own mother, holding her mother yesterday, trying to be brave, so she would not break down.  Veronica Moser-Sullivan, a small child, a little precious life, gone in the blink of an eye! Her mother paralyzed from the attack. Her unborn sibling lost from the trauma and shock of it all. Her father says what keeps his sanity today, the mountains that his little girl loved. He is climbing the Colorado 14er's, all 53 of them! They give him the only peace he seems to have today. Alex "Sully" Sullivan, enjoying a movie with friends, celebrating his birthday,  getting ready to celebrate his first wedding anniversary the next day, taken away from those he loved and he from them .Alex Teves, gone, a bright shining life dimmed, never to shine in this world again. Working with at risk youths. They were devastated. They said he gave them hope, and courage, to begin again. Amanda, his girlfriend, took his last name , runs in  the Colfax Marathon 26.2 miles for those who lost their lives and those whose lives were forever changed. Life makes no sense, many rally around the shooter as if he is some sort of urban legend. Others judge him . It is a terrible twist of fate, to make a decision, life in prison or death. Pray for the jurors.  Rebecca Wingo wanted to stay home with her children, she perished, her friend survived. He lives with the guilt each day as the years tick away. Everyone who knew Rebecca said her smile would light up a room! Gone but never forgotten.
I am no expert on grief. But I have seen it in the faces of those who have loved someone taken away in such an unthinkable crime. I watched these same faces when the Oklahoma Bombing trial was here in Denver. Each and every day I drove my husband to work on my way to my own job and I had to drive in front of the courthouse. The media circus, the families, their faces filled with sadness, with grief, with unbelief that their loved ones were never coming back. My daughter knows someone who knows this grief well. If you follow Face Book please read yesterday's post from Coni Sanders. She knows grief well, her father Dave Sanders died at Columbine HS in Littleton, Colorado 16 years ago.  As if life didn't  punch Coni hard enough, she is a breast cancer survivor. She works with those so troubled she tries to help them put their lives back together. She talks about love....
If you know me, you know I rely on my faith to pull me through life's difficulties. These words ring true today:

/Love is.../Blue Monday/Aw...Monday/Fearless

I missed Blue Monday! Frustrating, because I love it a lot and I also missed Aw...Mondays! I am putting my post up here anyway. I am mixed up on my days. Busy trying to get the painting done and the heat is so uncomfortable. I know, I know, excuses!
I am sharing this google image. My nephew Joe and his pretty bride Jessica were married Sunday in Florida. They all wore touches of blue. I am waiting for them to come home from their family trip/honeymoon so I can ask Jessica if I may borrow some of her wedding photos to share here. In the meantime I like this blue rose trimmed wedding cake.
Keeping with the romance and wedding theme I love this Love is...so sweet and reminds me of the love I see in Jessica and Joe's eyes. They have eyes only for each other.
Laughing out loud! If I know only one thing about cats, they do not like to be held or bothered with! This was so sweet. I figured I would still share it for Sandee and all the shares with Aw...Monday!
Ninety five degrees is way too hot for me to go on a hike! I chose to stay home and work hard indoors with my a/c on! My tiny middle is getting ready to take on a new job at her office.  She starts it soon and she loves to go hiking and release her mind from all the cares of the world.
Nick looks like he is conducting an orchestra from a top the mountain at Chautauqua Park.  The city of Boulder is tiny in the background.
My handsome Nick and grandson Colton, two of the most handsome young fellows I know! Taking a break from the rocky climb.

Three of my loves, Nick, Colton and Rebekah.
Colton is fearless. He does par kour so this is a walk in the park for him! I love the view!
Colton is a climber. When he was very small I turned around and he was gone. I heard him giggle, "Hey Grandmother, up here". He had scaled our roof in a matter of moments. He still loves climbing.
This is a young man who loves living on the edge. I pray a lot as you can well imagine!
The view from up here is magnificent. I hope Sally will stop by to see my blues anyways.
Adding a few prayer requests here. Pray for Noelle, she has an interview for a different position at her workplace tomorrow. Please pray for Joan, her cancer has returned and she is going to see a new specialist to find out what options she has. This gal is a prayer warrior and a fighter. She is always grateful for pray. Bailey is 7 years old and she had such severely swollen lymph nodes her mom is fearing the worse. Please pray as she was released from the hospital and has an appointment today to see if they have any new information. I also appreciate the prayers for myself while I keep searching for work. Thank you and if it is hot where you are chill out and stay cool. Thank you.

Love is.../Blue Monday

The local Goodwill makes a nice display of sale items. I happened to be there when this blue thrifty display went up! A nice selection of blues to purchase at a great discount.

These Love is...went together nicely today. We missed two Sunday's of church services due to the weather. Today the sun came out and we enjoyed a wonderful service. We started a new series this week on relationships. The ministry staff did a phamily style skit which we watched because they had great fun making it and there were many smiles and good laughter. But on a serious note, relationships are hard. You have to work on them. I like the power of two but in our marriage we have to hold on to the power of three...husband,wife,and Christ as the center of our lives.

Ecclesiastes 4:12New American Standard Bible (NASB)

12 And if [a]one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.

Please join Sally and the Blues today.

"M" is for Moon

Last week I finally got into the groove of Alphabe Thursday with  Ms. Jenny and the gang who share such great ideas, poems, stories, and just about anything marvelous, made for fun and maybe even crafty! I used "L" for Love because afterall February is the month of love and we all enjoy being showered with some attention, especially during the day of Love, February 14th. In my quest for love I found another blogger who is involved in a ministry with girls that have been in different types of abusive situations in the country of Brazil. The Day  of Love isn't until June so you have until April 1 to send a card, handmade, store bought, it does not matter. I am sharing the address here:

Hope Unlimited for Children

P. O. Box 100

Jefferson City, TN  37760

But you can stop by the blog yourself and check this story out here. I am always anxious to help. It is just in my nature. I have had many wonderful opportunities here to to meet people going through difficult life journeys and I encourage you to stop by and read the story behind this.

Life is difficult so please join me in this simple endeavor to brighten a young girls day. It speaks volumes of the kindness all of us have to share. Thank you.

Now for my "M" post. I am in the mood for Love so I will share a simple and sweet Love is... with each one of you. Many have heard me say this before but I use to cut these little cartoons out of the "funny papers" in the daily news and give them to my hubby. He has all of them. I use to cut them out and glue them onto construction paper scraps.  It bring both of us great big smiles even today, all these years later. Love never changes. It is a constant.

So here goes my "Moon" post: My Love is.. shows that you two can outshine the stars but you can also enjoy a quiet moment under a hanging paper moon. I love the moon, I like to see it hanging low in the sky shining like a huge bright silver coin. I love when it is a small sliver like a tiny slice of cake. I enjoy seeing it when it is a half moon glimmering in the night sky lighting our path. The moon is one incredible  Did you know that the moon is the Earth's only natural satellite? It has been gracing the skies for many, many centuries.  It's gravitational influence produces the oceans tides and slight lengthening of the day.During an eclipse of the moon, you will notice a reddish tint on it. It appears in various fashion across the skies and it is a sight I never tire of seeing. There are so many influences in our world that are resulting from the moon.  One a simple note one of my favorite childhood books that I read to my own children is called "Goodnight Moon".

I hope you have enjoyed my little presentation of the moon.  My sister tells me that her little great grandgirl Ari will look into the sky at night and blow kisses while saying "Goodnight Moon"! She loves the moon too!

I hope you will visit Ms. Jenny and all the other participates of Alphabe Thursday. It is a good place to be.
