Thankful Thursday Feline Friday Pink Saturday and Life

Thankful Thursday Ok Brian's home, you are terrific because you host faithfully. Good folks and felines too.

I am stuck on Pink this week! But a tiny kitten in a pink tea cup made me smile and now I need tea. I was going to hang my sheets outside to dry but my son-in-law is smoking something delectable and now the sun went down and the sky isn't as bright so I will use the dryer instead. We have lime green sheets. They are beautiful but I always wash them alone. We also have turquoise ones and  they are bright and beautiful but I wash them alone too. I am a sucker for color, especially brightly colored sheets. Thankful for all the bright colors in the world. Thankful for all the delicious dishes the kids whip up and thankful for hot tea that I can enjoy.

Kitty paws for Feline Friday. My cat has big ole feet but I guess he does cause he is a big boy.  At least it makes sense to me. Mimi, you are a real sweetheart for hosting here. Thank you!

Pink Saturday

A kitty to wish you all a Happy Pink Saturday. Thank you Beverly for hosting. You are a gem.

Love this quote. It would have been perfect for Sparks too so let's share it both ways, life in general and Sparks.
We celebrated 39 glorious years together on May 3. We had a fun dinner at the Saltgrass Restaurant. It is so delicious but Texas hospitality is casual here. We loved our dinners.

One final Pink note:

These handsome dudes crack me up. Brody told his mom he will get all the ladies wearing this pink shirt because they love pink!

Spread some P I N K sunshine around!

Thankful Thursday and More

What is your pleasure? Ice Tea or Sweet Tea? With this following Crumbl cookie I recommend regular ice tea.
This is a Crumbl cookie. There is a story behind it.
Visit Thankful Thursday and tell everyone what you are thankful for. Now these Crumbl cookies are not for the calorie counter. This Chocolate Carmel Crunch Cookie , although load with sugar and calories is surprisingly not as sweet as some of their more plain variety cookies. My son bought me this cookie and I ate it in four days. It is pure delightful goodness with chocolate, carmel and crunch. Sigh......something to be very thankful for, but not to be eaten everyday.  It is delightful with a cup of steaming hot tea or a tall cold glass of milk. I am going to jump in and share my Ten Things of Thankful.

1. Let's just say that cookie is number #1! I don't indulge too much but once and a while I love to share this cookie with my Sweets. He is not suppose to have too much sugar. He needs lots of sodium instead. So help me out if you know or have some sodium rich foods.

2.
When I meet people this is the first thing I notice about them. A doctor I knew, who sculpted as a hobby, made many people beautiful again with perfectly scuplted noses as he was an ENT/Plastic Surgeon. He was left handed! Genius! Ha Ha - I too am left handed. The nuns at Catholic school dared to try to right my wrong as they called this the devil's hand. Well, I won, they lost and I love being left handed. I am thankful that God gave me my left handed domination.

3.
My Hibiscus is blooming and I caught it when the dew was still on the petals. This is a grocery store purchase. The second one I bought. My first was yellow but I Lost it a few years ago due to a terrible frost.  I will be more careful with this one.As you can see my rose is not faring as well. The heat has been brutal this year.  I Love flowers and am thankful to grow some in our yard.
4. Ah.....a new favorite tea. Talk about reducing stress! Bigelow makes this yummy rose/mint herbal tea. Shh......I have more coming. Thankful for all the tea I love and drink daily.
5. H U M O R : There are so many things that are uncomfortable to talk about today and some folks use humor to calm their nerves. Others go ballistic and have fits! Just remember everyone uses different mechanisms to cope with the unknown, the stress of life, sadness, etc. My oldest son dislikes clowns intensely yet I sent this to him this morning! He laughed out loud! Thanks to Karen D. Milstein for sharing this. Karen had an awful few years. First their leather shop/business burned to the ground. The insurance had expired. Her husband suffered a near fatal accident at their home. He spent many moths at Craig Rehab Hospital. He came home and passed away peacefully although Karen and her phamily were grilled by the local authorities. As if they had committed a crime. So be thankful for humor. Some of us need it more than others. Remember these words:
Be kind and most of all be thankful for all you have.  Be thankful for those you know and love. Be kind, use it like glitter so it sticks to everything and everyone  you come in contact with. I am exceptionally thankful for humor and kindness.
6. This is a photo I took last week. Since then our squash and zucchini is bursting forth everywhere. I am grateful and very thankful for fresh garden veggies. We also have a bounty of fresh tomatoes, Marzano, Big Girl and Cherry. I like to pop those cherry tomatoes like candy and they are better for me than anything sweet, even my favorite Crumbl cookie.
7. Everyone knows the hubby and I have matching t shirts. We love them from Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse to The Avengers and U of Ky Wildcat Basketball! This is one I really want to have.  I actually have those glasses and I L O V E my glasses since I am as blind as a bat! I am thankful for a good husband who takes good care of me and always has taken care of his phamily.
You can't see his shirt but we love U of Kentucky basketball. My big sis Pat lived in Kentucky near Louisville ( not Louisville basketball fans hahaha) for many years before she passed away. My niece attended U of Ky. to complete her Master's degree. It is funny we are all Kentucky Wildcat fans!
8. We love traveling but we are happy to confine our travels to the USA! This is the Cave of the Winds in Colorado. It is an amazing place to visit. I have been to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and one of the Kentucky Caves. I was a teen way back than and my dad was not thrilled being in such a confided space. I was young and carefree now I am more like my dad was. Funny how life changes you. But travel is always on our minds. I love the small community of Salina, Kansas.People are friendly, they have a beautiful private university (Nick graduated from there) and there have so many fun shops to visit. Plus their zoo is a great place to visit. One place I want to visit is the OKC Bombing Memorial. Our youngest daughter made the trip and said it was incredibly sad. I love history and I Love landmarks.  Grateful and thankful to have visited many states and seen lots of wonderful landmarks and have eaten many good meals.
9. Thankful for my collection of dolls and bears. I even have a pink and purple Unicorn. This is Old Friend Bear and American Girl Josefina. I Buy many used AG dolls as they are pretty pricey. I Have loved dolls since I was a small child. One of the first dolls I had was a Revlon Girl that my brother Bill bought for myself and my older sister.  They were very glamours. Somewhere I do have a photo of me with them. My big sister Pat brought two German dolls home from Germany when she was living there in their military days.  They were not properly stored and probably were tosses away. :-( I had a Shirley Temple doll too. She was simply lovely. Some dolls today look more like night walkers from Colfax Avenue in Denver after dark.
Holiday Barbie 2019. My oldest Noelle buys these dolls for me every year. I wish I Had a large room to showcase all of them. My late friend Kathy O'Gane had a massive doll collection. She had John Wayne and all sorts of celebrity dolls like that. Her cousin made a floor to ceiling curio that encompassed a room and she had those dolls on display. They were amazing. I am thnakful I was able to collect so many dolls.
10. Vitamins. I am very grateful and very thankful we take a daily regime of Vitamins. I do not take much medication. I Only take on prescription and like to use natural remedies when I can. The hubby has asthma so it is harder for him to get away from all the Big Pharma drugs and I hate it with a passion. So many of those drugs are hard on your organs and many of them make him so tired. I do my best to keep him healthier with Vitamins and other health and wellness products. Do you know how many people I know that have never given their child so much as a child dose of pain reliever? They live very healthy lifestyles and steer away from the big corporate medicine. Two very dear friends both passed away in 2010, taking the same regime for mental health -  Big Pharma drugs and died from massive heart attacks in their early 40's. Coincidence, I doubt it. Another friend who took all those very same drugs now is needing a transplant. It is very sad that many in our society would rather have a pill, a label or a popular ailment then stay healthy. Of course, not everyone is blessed with good health and so I am thankful I can pray.  I worked in the medical school. I worked for the department of Microbiology and Immunlogy. I know what can be created in a lab. Just an FYI! Also always remember, doctors are people not GOD Himself so be careful putting them on a pedestal.
sharing the Friday Friendly Fill In questions. Thank Ellen and Lorianne for sharing their questions with all of us. I appreciate these ladies very much.

Thankful Thursday

I am running all day everyday so I may change my posts a bit. I do not want to give up my favs like Sandee and Brian host along with Ellen and Lorrianne. So I guess I will go back to doing my own thing. I am also working on catching up some posts so they are easier to release. Life seems hectic and I don't like that, It seems it is hard to get anything done without a huge fight. I am saving my energy for the weekend, especially the SONday brunch we have planned for the hubby and his sister. We always do biscuits and gravy as it is quick and makes a ton of food for all. We will have veggie and fruit trays . The hubby loves chocolate cream pies so I will take care of those and possibly cupcakes to make the choice of chocolate or white cake easy for everyone.  Rebekah makes an excellent pasta salad and Jeremy cooks up a nice batch of bacon. Rebekah likes to have a mimosa bar so orange juice, cranberry juice, apple juice and more will be provided. The last brunch we had was a great success and we look forward to hosting them at least once a month.
We may have some silver dollar pancakes and of course scrambled eggs. Now Brody is a diced ham and eggs kinda guy so I may make a batch with ham and one without. When I worked in a medical office, the hospital next door made some wonderful breakfast foods. Sometime they would make a special treat, scrambled eggs with chives and cream cheese. It was delightful.
Those two are keeping secrets. Maybe they are planning a food fest soon too. Stop by and say hello to Thankful Thursday I know I am very thankful that right now we can have phamily gatherings and enjoy some good food and make memories.  Tell Brian and the feline friends hello and give them your thankful list too.
Gratitude and thankfulness go hand in hand. I am thankful for so much in my life. Here is my list today.

1) Clean Water: I wake up and drink my cold refreshing water. I never take it for granted.

2) Fresh flowers:
I have a new hibiscus plant but it is not flowering yet. It is very beautiful though when it comes to life. I love fresh flowers. This bouquet is lovely.

3) Grandkids:
Here is grumpy little guy. Poor Blake is getting ready to turn one and he is getting new teeth everyday. He is not a real happy camper. Love the grands, everyone of them, grown up or little guys like this. I am thankful for all of them.

4.) Reading: I Have a huge stack of books. Planning to read as the cooler months roll around. But I finished one and it was a difficult read. I think I need some light hearted books to mull over. I did find books about Western New York where our youngest Hannah lives with her hubby Jake. There is a lot of history. I Like to read about the places people live and how life was 100 or so years ago. Do you have any light hearted suggestions?
5) Sandee had a post about ice cream. It made me think, I need some tasty ice cream. I love it all. But one of the Good Times stores here had a custard called Chunky Chimp. Banana custard with loads of mini chocolate chips. So I will have my ice cream or custard any way I can get it but not all the time.

6) Weighing in during this quarantine :
Boy I would be very thankful if this were my current weight. But my hubby tells me not to worry because America is going to go into some somber times. We try to stay healthy but I get tired of the chronic obese posts everyone shares. There was a time a gal could weigh 126 lbs. and be considered fit and trim. Now if you are not walking around in a skeletal mode you are an obese pig. I think I will be thankful that GOD is in charge of it all and considering the darkness covering our nation, I will trust Him alone for all my needs. Fat or thin, old or young. Tall or short. Light or dark, redheaded or blonde. Blue eyes or green or brown. GOD loves all of us. It is good enough for me.
Thankful for the fact that GOD is not prejudice.
Considering all the lies we've been told, this about sums up the scare tactics. My friend Dianne, who recently turned 72 was hospitalized with a problem on her leg and a wound that was not healing. She also contracted Cellulitis. She spent one week at the hospital and three weeks in a rehab center. Guess what she did not contract COVID-19! In Colorado many hospitals are laying off nurses and other medical staff. This must be common core math.
Target even put up a mirror so you could try on your mask before you buy it! Think about that for a minute! As a child, my mother would never let us try hats on. Simply because if someone had, say head lice,  mom did not want to have us take it home.  I believe in being careful period. But I will not be driven to madness over this political ploy.
Finally the American Disability Act. As I shop once a week at the grocery store, I notice many disabled people around me and none of them wear masks.  You can end up in a hospital emergency room with a far worse condition, infection in your lungs, from breathing your own carbon dioxide. I think people need to stop being narcs and allow people around them to shop in peace and quiet. Isn't it enough the whole world is mad? Hate spews everywhere these days, let's at least be kind.
People may not like my posts but I speak from my heart. I am truthful about what is going on around us and I have heard this from my hubby for all the years we've been together. Life is changing and unfortunately not for the better. I won't be like this:

                                                                        THE END

Thankful Thursday

Do you have a favorite food? I think my top favorites  are bacon, cheesecake, fresh fruit and salmon. On this Thankful Thursday I am grateful currently to enjoy many delicious kinds of food. I hope you will share yours too.
Tiramisu Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. I do have a cheesecake form so I am going to attempt to be like my mom and make a cheesecake from scratch once we get cooler weather.

Rebekah created this fruit baby carriage for Jacey's  baby shower. She did a really nice job and the fruit was wonderful. Miss Shea Avery Marie was the guest of honor because she couldn't wait to be born closer to her June due date. She arrived on May 19th.
Rebekah and Zach make a good team and make the best salmon with creamy dill sauce. I enjoy all these food, some more than others and hope you share some of yours too.
This is Franklin's grin. I told you he had a rough life before Jake rescued him so he has much to smile about today.  He and Hannah are good pals and he is a bit spoiled too.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful God loves all people of the earth. I am thankful I have the bible to refer to. I am thankful God loves me. I am thankful to be intelligent enough to know God loves each individual. I am thankful for Thursday. I am thankful I  found this sweet images of this beautiful feline. Thankful Thursday

 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
 - I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Matthew 5:43-48 - Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
 - Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.
Acts 10:34-35 - Then Peter opened [his] mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
 - And the second [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. - The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Proverbs 6:16-19 - These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him:
 - He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
 - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
 - Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied [him]? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil [is] good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where [is] the God of judgment?
 - Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
 - For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
 - Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I [am] the LORD.
Zephaniah 2:3 Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, who have upheld his justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility.

Thankful Thursday with Anniversary and Birthday Wishes

Happy anniversary number 4 to Brittany and Jeremy. They were married April 30 2016. It was a beautiful ceremony and a wonderful celebration.  They have weathered a few storms already. But good marriages always take the great times with the not so perfect ones.  I am thankful for these kids and their kids too. They are champs when it comes to managing their household, the new rules for living in recent weeks and still smiling when all is said and done.
These two belong together. They met at their mutual job site. They are both Denver Bronco fans so their wedding had a Bronco theme. It was a great day, it snowed a bit but the wedding was indoors so it made for a perfect day.  Their life together has had more joyful moments. It has been good this past four years because of these three:
Jeremy stepped right in  and took Addy  along for this new journey . She is a great girl and Jeremy enjoys this life he is living. Brother I came along and then Brother 2. These three make their lives happier and there is lots of fun in their household.
Marriage is never easy. It is was everyone would be happily married. We would all like to walk into it with a box full of good things, all the wonderful things we enjoy. But marriage is truly like an empty box. You get out of it what you put into it.  It doesn't hurt if you choose to put Jesus at the center of your marriage. He adds the perfection.
I love this little poem. You might think it is sappy or silly but I like the words to it. I want Brittany and Jeremy to have their hearts locked together for this entire lifetime. They are raising a beautiful phamily. They have lots of love at their house. Laughter too. The kids are the right additions to this great marriage recipe! I hope you will join me in wishing them a happy anniversary and a wonderful life.
Before I sign off I have to wish Mister Kitty a/k/a Tiger or Mister Tomkins a happy feline birthday.
He turns 7 on April 30. I tried to give him away for their wedding present but they politely declined. When Jeremy was a single guy still living at home he thought this feline was a fine addition to our house. Hmmm.... I never wanted another cat after my Boots left this ole world. But here I am seven years later making sure this big boy has a good home and isn't roaming the streets singing for his supper. As you may have noticed, this fellows hasn't missed a single meal in seven years. Happy Birthday kitty.
