THANKSGIVING AND FRIENDS AND PHAMILY

I hope each and everyone of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.  I ate smaller portions but when I was shopping I purchased a wedge of Brie cheese. My hubby and youngest daughter Hannah loves it and so do I! The cashier said there was no price on it and since it was for Thanksgiving, it's free and Happy Thanksgiving! I was tickled! But she is my favorite cashier!  Brie cheese is a real weakness for me. We also had a beautiful selection of pies and lots of tasty side dishes to compliment our turkey.
Oh my gosh, this Princess Sassy Pants had me chuckling! I love this sweet sentiment.
These two fruitcakes will be married on Dec 2. I called them that affectionately because Rebekah is very into all the Irish traditions for weddings. One of them is the bride and groom eat a fruitcake together. So being a good mother, I bought them one from Collin Street Bakery.
It is being soaked in Irish whiskey for the wedding event. Jameson to be exact. Boy this mom love her girl.
Cousins, Jayden (6), Michael (2 1/2) and Harrison (21 months). These fellows make the holidays jolly.
Police humor makes me smile. Our youngest Nick has a BFF Jazin and he is a local police officer. Oh the stories you can already share! People are silly. This pooch is quite handsome too so he might enjoy visiting Aw...Mondays with Sandee and the gang.
You know you are saying Aw........Mondays!
Police Dog filing his report.

Ha Ha Ha! This police dog is not a fan of the feline ! He's pretty serious about his work.
Hope this police dog humor made you smile today.

My phamily has grown from 7 of us to currently 24 1/2. We have to count the new baby boy who will join us in March 2017. We need our own private hall to hold our holiday dinners. My folks would be so proud. They really loved their siblings and all the extended phamily we had. I hope you stop by Blue Monday and say hello.
Aw....Love is...can always make me smile.
I'm not a big shopper these days. Too much rudeness, crazy drivers and all the rest. I like to shop from home. SO I agree with Maxine here. SHe makes me smile every day.
Thinking about people who need encouragement today.
Always lots of prayer requests. A high school friends son-in-law lost his sister in a motorcycle accident. Don and Vickie, struggle with health issues. Always needing extra prayer. Pray for those homeless without anywhere to go. Pray for those struck with mental illness and unable to help themselves. Prayers for many needing full time employment, pray for young parents, as my friend Maureen says, the older generation, we can never stop telling our grands about Jesus. Pray for young married couple that they keep Christ at the center of their marriages. I have prayed for my little friends Kaydence and Mayah since before their birth. I never forget them in my nightly prayers. So many hurting hearts. Thinking of a small kindness you can do for someone hurting.  Appreciate all good thoughts you have and the prayers lifted up.
Pinterest makes me smile. Love this tea time which can be anytime at all. Look at those sweet macroons. Remember to follow me and leave comments so you can be in the second part of my giveaway, this one will be a Christmas Tea Tyme Giveaway. Come join the fun. Thank you for visiitng me and letting me share a smile, a prayer or a simple story today.

PRAYERS AND SOME GOOD NEWS

I am trying to get into the swing of the new year. We were swamped at work today and our Audiologist was out. Family emergency. Dr. T's hubby Patrick was taken to the emergency room with a blinding headache. He was sent home. A while later he was unresponsive and the good doctor and her family called an ambulance. He had a blood clot and was transferred to a "trauma I" hospital where he had emergency surgery and is currently stable. I ask that you all pray for this wonderful family. Dr. T. or Koko as she prefers is a sweet and wonderful gal who is my co worker. Her hubby Patrick and his mom  and Koko and Patrick's two kiddos Kira and Kevin are a wonderful family. Please pray that Patrick has a swift recovery and is back on his feet in no time.
In the meantime my niece Holly had a lumpy bumpy on her breast. She is mom to cuties Sean and Sarah and wife to Steve. She was scared and had a biopsy two days after Christmas. She found out today that that darn lumpy bumpy was not breast cancer. Thank goodness and Praise God! Rather something in her thyroid meds that needs to be adjusted. Thanks for all the prayers you put out for her.
My Sweets spent the morning with his brother at the surgery's office. More back surgery in his future. It has been a very difficult road for us with him here. My Sweets loves his brother but his presence has taken a toll on our phamily. He will get the surgery as soon as the doctor can schedule him and get the insurance approval. Then my Sweets told the doctor he needs to go into rehab to recover. We work, our kids work and go to  to school full time so we do not have the means to be a full time care provider here. Please pray. We need to accept this I know and I hate to sound uncaring but it has been very difficult for the six of us and Phil who stays with us. Everyone is always trying to avoid him and he over medicates himself and we have no clue where he hides the meds he was getting from his family doctor and previous surgery. It is a real battle for us as we are all a bunch of plain janes at our house. We don't do anything to harm ourselves and it is difficult to watch someone slowing going down the drain. I just ask for prayer.
On a happier note I seem to be linking into some strange survey and got a nice tutorial from Jenny to help me resolve the problem. This blogging business is puzzling sometime.
I appreciate each and everyone of you and wish you all well in the new year. Thanks for always listening and come back often.

Things I am Grateful for Today

I am grateful that I know this sweet girl AngelDawn. I know her through many wonderful bloggers and she is holding a purple shirt I sent her. The shirt I thought went to my swap buddy Dee in Maryland. Ah...another story for another post.
Today I caught up on some of my internet stuff, my aim and g mail accounts and my blog to name a few. My washer went on the fritz and the kids rallied round us and we ordered a brand spanking new one to be delivered December 4th, a day after my birthday! Whew! A sweet gift huh? For a birthday gal like me, yes.
I received a sweet post message from  Linda. It was about her sweet deal for a quilting kit. Sitting here counting all the marvelous blessings the Lord has given me and my phamily lately with the new house and all I decided I think we should put a quilt together for AngelDawn. She loves purple and I thought a purple theme would be appropriate for this little lady struggling with brain cancer. I hope you will all join me. I am quiltlessly clueless when it comes to any sewing matters so help me out everyone.
Please visit   Nezzy who started this AngelDawn campaign because this littele lady was her Sunday school student.
Lots of great folks have been involved in the AngelDawn story. Stop by Sherry's and Marydon and find out that they know this sweet little girl too.
We have lots to be grateful for and I am always grateful that I have faith and pray daily for all my bloggy friends. Keep the faith folks and although the day is winding down please celebrate Thanklsgiving by being thankful for many blessings I bet you have in your life.

Prayer Request

Good morning and  happy Friday! I am sad today :( because my baby is on a plane heading to Mesa, Arizona for the Cross Country Invitational.

Please keep him and his team in your prayers this weekend as they run in this five state event.

To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.

THURSDAY IS HERE! CROSS COUNTRY UPDATE! WE ARE GOING TO STATE!

Moving into the weekend! It is amazing how quickly time flies! Today I have a half day at work, leaving at 12:30 for Nick's meet. This is it. This the end of an awesome but sometime difficult season. Last year Jerry Nick's team mate struggled with his hip and other issues. This year he is a senior and unstoppable. Pray for him today so that he will be a top qualifier for the State Competition in Cross Country. Pray that Nick and his entire team do well and stay healthy for this last run of the season. Keep Nick in your prayers. This was a tough year for him and he learned a lot. He once had an arch enemy Des who is now just another buddy running the race. Pray for Des. He is awesome too but stuck on a team of lack lustre runners who are not into it. He is a bright young man and I wish him well. It took a lot of courage and help from my backfield, The Lord and His top people to change my heart. I wanted my son to be a winner. He is. No matter what comes his way he will always be a winner to me. I want him to succeed but no at the price of hurting someone else. Cross Country is a different sport than football or the other top rated scholarship earning sports. You become part of an extended phamily. It is a good clean sport and I pray all the runners today succeed whatever their plans may be.
As always I thank each and everyone of you for stopping by. Eventually I get around to visit but some weeks are difficult.
Last night we saw the house two blocks from here. The owners were super nice and we liked the house. Problem is so does everyone else because of this market we are sliding downward in. Pray, that is all we can do about it.
I will see you later and wish you a beautiful day full joy and Christ's blessings. Thanks
This is an update regarding the regional trials for Cross Country. THS  Cross Country team is going to state. Those boys ran their best race and they took second place as a team! Next weekend we will be at the State Competition. Prayer is always welcome. Thanks for all your thoughtful comments. I will get pictures posted this weekend! I still have to organize my photos from Durango!

PRAYER UPDATE

I NEED PRAYER FOR NICK. HE IS TERRIBLY ILL. I WILL TRY TO UPDATE LATER. PLEASE PRAY

"do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Luke 6:31

Today as I prepared for work with less than five hours of sleep, I prayed and prayed harder. Nick has been waiting for an entire year to run in the league race today and he is laid up with a terrible case of strep throat. My doc that I work for suggested we take his tonsils soon. He hopes to travel to Phoenix and run in the Nike Invitational again at Thanksgiving time. So we are hopeful my doc has Christmas here so we can get this boy in and have those nasty tonsils removed. Hannah has been, knock on wood, well ,since her tonsils came out in May 2010 .
I am just sad for Nick mainly because he would get his picture on the "Wall of Fame" at school. But he can try to run the race next year. I freak out with high fever because my brother and his wife lost their precious 18 year old daughter in 1996 to a rare form of blood poisoning and it all started with flu like symptoms and a high fever. I try not to live in fear but when it comes to my children, I often lose control of my senses and Nick was in so much pain throughout last night and it scared us. I am grateful to God that we had the necessary insurance to take him to the urgent care for treatment. He now has an anti-biotic but he is still feeling very poorly. His fever is starting to be contained.
I was overwhelmed by the prayers you all prayers for him today. I was getting ready for a horrible day at work and I had to put that post up. I am going to add to it here and want all of you to know how absolutely amazing you are.
I am so overwhelmed at work. When I woke up at three a.m. this morning with my sick child I read the verse I posted here. I went to work and posted it on my phone. But God just keeps letting Satan have his way with my phamily. I feel so awful and I appreciate all of you more than you can ever know.
I was planning to give up the Durango trip but my sweets wants me to go so he will stay here with Nick while Hannah and I go with Noelle and Roger. It will be a sad weekend without the rest of my phamily but my sweets will go look at a house to rent. Please pray that he makes the right decision about moving. I think part of our problem is this house is loaded with mold and it is very unhealthy. The electrical wiring is very unsafe and our landlord is going to lose this property. He will never get what he paid for it and he owns the entire balance because he was given an interest only loan. Nothing works, the roof is in dire need of replacment. The electrical wiring is outdated and somewhat frightening. The wood floors were heavily damaged from the poor insulation and cheap windows when we moved it. They are no better now having been replaced by more cheap windows.
I do not wish to burden you with my blabbering about something I have no control over. I just kep asking for your prayers.
I feel so guilty asking sometime. I see AngelDawn and Colette and many other sweet bloggerettes suffering with cancer and other hardships. But I never stop praying. For Shauna and Ron and Lisa and Heather and all the wonderful people I know here struggled with their own I think, as my late mother use to say, we all have our own cross to bear. Some just have a lighter load than the rest of us. But I will not allow my faith to be shattered.
Just keep praying...

ALWAYS PRAYERS

I want to ask everyone who stops by today to please be in prayer. I am not sure what is going on at the office but prayer is needed.

I ask each and everyone to remember me today as well as my phamily.

I am praying and wake up in prayer and fall asleep at night in prayer. I see things in this world that would make me fearful if I did not have Christ as my center.

2 Chronicles 20:15 (New American Standard Bible)

15and he said, "Listen, all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: thus says the LORD to you, '(A)Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for (B)the battle is not yours but God's.

PRAYER

P owerful words
R acing through my mind
A bsolutely
Y earning with
E ach individual
R eason why

I love my prayer time. I am grateful to God each day that I may wake up and reserve time for Him with all my requests. I find that as I get older I am able to pray more wholeheartedly for others rather than concentrating on myself.
Today I found out my friend Veronica is undergoing tough radiation treatments for her breast cancer that recently returned. Drats! She is a single mom of a college aged son. She really needs your prayers.
Gabe also needs your prayers. He is a young friend of Jeanne's church family backyardneighbor.typepad.com. Please pray for him as there is nothing doctors can do and he is in God's hands.
AngelDawn is the sweet little lady we met through the Miracle Makeover with Sherry http://countrywingsinphoenix..blogspot.com/ and other wonderful bloggers who posted her story about getting cancer at the ripe old age of 11! I am currently in the process of putting together a package to send my new friend. Please pray for this sweet girl who loves the Lord.
Denise at http://shortybearsplace.blogspot.com/ needs pray. She generously prays for everyone. She needs lots of prayer support regarding her health with her failing eyesight and I want to put up prayers alerts for her. She is so kind and giving she needs us to support her with this.
Mollye at http://mizmollye.blogspot.com/ needs us to continue praying for her family including herself, Punkin and the kids Buddy,Lori and Shari. We know Jake is in Heaven watching down on all of us. So pray that this family will carry on the memory of Jake's life and smile when they remember his life
My pictures won't load tonight. so I hope you will not mind my plain post for prayer request.

The devil tries to interfer in my prayer time and I decided tonight since I can not post my pictures I am going to post my favorite prayer quotes:
Prayer does not change God, but it changes him who prays.  ~Søren Kierkegaard

No one is a firmer believer in the power of prayer than the devil; not that he practices it, but he suffers from it.  ~Guy H. King

Don't pray when it rains if you don't pray when the sun shines.  ~Satchel Paige, 1974

I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs.  ~Frederick Douglass, escaped slave

When at night you cannot sleep, talk to the Shepherd and stop counting sheep.  ~Author Unknown

When you pray, rather let your heart be without words than your words without heart.  ~John Bunyan

MONDAY POTLUCK AND PRAYERS

Today feels like Monday! I know, I know, it is! My hubby and youngest son are getting ready for the kiddos new bed to get here. He has slept on an awful boxy mattress for several years and needs a new one. The big brother is helping his friends dad move from Colorado Springs to Brighton and Sean's dad is generously giving us the queen mattress set which is nearly brand new!
Today was a wild ride at work. One employee came in ,saw the doc and left. Throat infection. My hubby's co worker has had one since last week and he is not getting any better. I had it last year. My PCP told me my tonsils were actually rotting in my throat! What a picture, I don't ever want that crude anytime soon! Awful stuff. Wiped me out for 2-3 months energy wise! Busy patient day two nose bled's, one an older lady and one an eight year old girl! Yikes! Those were awful emergencies and they really hold up the schedule! But you gotta do what you gotta do! One patient is a true Raider fan,. He has tatoo's of the whole Raider mascot thing everywhere! I am not a tatoo person but the artwork on his tats are amazing.I did not know they got beat so badly yesterday during opening football season. I was talking about the Broncos loss, that coach, what was he thinking putting Tebow in as not the quarterback!? I guess with all the quarterbacks we have he does not worry about losing one to injury! I told our patient these whimpy football players today could not have played with the likes of Kenny Stabler, Jack "Hacksaw" Reynolds, Lynn Swann, Joe Namath and even the likes of Joe Montana in his heyday! But I think the Raiders and Broncos have their work cut out for them.
I have received so many wonderful postcards and am getting ready to do the drawing for the grand prize winner soon. Keep watching. I am absolutely amazed at the kindnesses of everyone. A patient will send me a card from Cypress when he goes next month. I have received so many thoughtful cards and some of the cute stories behind it are just precious.
Sleep is in order here tonight. Hannah leaves at 4:30 A.M. for Oklahoma City with Phil. They are going on a business trip. She is a good sister. Her sister does not want to lose her scholarship monies and such so she will go to Vegas next month. Prayer would be nice.
The hubby is having his cataract surgery in the morning at 7 A.M. We wholeheartedly trust the doctor. He is retired Air Force and I am sure has 20/20 visions himself! Prayer would be nice.
I saw my chiropractor tonight. He is the very best. Takes excellent care of me and my bad bones. Working on my shoulder pain and once we resolve that with one more treatment of hydro massage therapy I am going to sit and talk with him about my hip pains and go from there. I hate aging but I have to think about what the bible says and go with that. The cooler evenings are hard on achy bones.
My brother-in-law Rick is being ripped off by a car dealer in Wyoming, where he lives. Thank goodness my hubby works for good attorneys and they are helping him. The thing about where my hubby works is that they are everywhere. They have so many offices in so many states. Wyoming is one of those states. Prayer would work here too.
My hubby was quite instrumental in calming the rift between his siblings. The two brothers are going to spend some time together.  My hubby is a good man and a wonderful peacemaker.
My daughter Noelle works with Maureen and Saturday night Maureen fell asleep with a candle burning. Burned her apartment to the ground. Walked out of that fire with the pajama's on her back! Nothing else but most importantly her life!  Please pray for her. I am hopeful the news stations here will help her out. Prayer is really needed here.
Nick needs to run in the Liberty Bell on Friday. But he called himself off a few classes last week and is paying the price. I am hopeful they will let him run and miss next week's race which is not as important. We have to wait and see. More prayer needed here. But on a bright note he has learned a valuable lesson I told him that thirty eight years ago I tried that with my girlfriend. That slick nun caught us before we could commit the crime of meeting public school boys and my father looked at me so pitifully and said he was disappointed in me. That hurt worse than any beating or I told you so!  I told my son they caught me years ago and today they have recorders on the phone. So you can not get away with anything. Learn a valuable lesson and go on with your life. There are worse things then having to go to school.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week. I am showing a picture of Nick's new bed. We need to work in his room and for now here is the new bed: He is the only phamily member with a headboard! Cool!

PRAYER REQUESTS

Nick runs at 9:30 this morning. Please pray as we will be closer in to where the Four Mile Fire is burning.

Please pray for CC's family during this difficult time of loss.

Please pray for Mike. He is going through a tough divorce situation. He is struggling and hoping to get a nursing job in Alaska.

Pray for the families of the 9-11 tragedy today and every day.

Pray for our military and all the emergency responders everywhere today.

Prayers would be greatly appreciated.

POTPOURRI

I am getting ready to head out the door. Nick did not run yesterday because the coach was saving his top five runners since they are running on a brand new course today, the course they will use for the state competition later in October.
I ask for prayer for Nick today. This morning the Lord put this verse on my heart:
"Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself." Philippians 2:3
Remember to check out my Pink Saturday post and the several giveaways I have going on. Just check my right side bar and I have my posts listed there so you can easily click on the one you need.

MY PRAYER

Dear Lord I am praying today for the hurting in this world. Many do not know how to reach out to you. Please give them the tools to come to you and allow the Holy Spirit to touch their hearts and their minds in Christ Jesus name Amen.

PRAYER REQUEST

Today is my husbands birthday! He is finally my age! LOL! But today is a very sad day. I need all of you to please lift up my husband and our phamily in prayer.. His mother  took a turn for the worse. We are driving down there shortly. Please pray. There is so much sadness but rejoicing because my mother-in-law is a Christian woman and frankly I am jealous she will be meeting the Lord!

I ask you all to pray for us today. I will be back tomorrow. Pray we can manage all that is going on. Blessings to all of you here! I love each one of you!

Prayers for Shauna

http://thewildraspberrysisters.blogspot.com/2009/10/please-pray-for-my-sister.html

In my effort to catch up on my blog reading I came across this lovely blog. Since I am struggling to learn all the blogging protocol I decided to try to paste the button on a post. Please pray and help in any other ways.

I appreciate your actions. May God Bless Shauna and her family and May He keep them safe in His Care.
