Love is.../Blue Monday

My hubby does not need glasses except to read. I was practically born wearing them.  I started wearing glasses in the fourth grade. Poor sight, terribly near-sighted. So Friday my hubby too the day off and we saw the eye doctor for our annual eye exams. I need new glasses, surprise, surprise! But my honey will need a cataract surgery on his left eye. He had the right done about three years ago. This is a new doctor, as our previous one retired. The retired doctor had been an Air Force pilot. You can imagine we enjoyed seeing him (no pun intended) LOL! So tomorrow I will venture out and look for new frames and get those new glasses soon. My honey has the next two days off and we have snow so it will be great fun having a few more days together.

Here was the sky on our way to church today.
Coming home it looked like this and it was cold and getting ready to snow.
Our Sunday service at RedRocksChurch is held at Heritage Square. It had been a glorious amusement park. One of those fun filled family places where many good memories have been made. Sadly, we have heard it is closing at the end of 2015. This photo of the music hall was pulled from google images and oh what fun we had there! We saw many fun music productions there and sadly it closed last year.
These Victorian buildings are so beautiful and the shoppes they once held were filled with lots of fun for the kids and for adults too.
This is my shot of the Music Hall. Sigh!
The sweet little carousel was at the entrance of the park. I wonder what they will do with it now. Thank you google image.
Another image of the entrance to the park. I put these photos up so Sally and the Blue Crew would spot the blue in each photo for Blue Monday today!
My shot of the carousel when we were leaving church today.
My shot of the Heritage Square Entryway as we left our church service today. Our church uses many of the smaller Victorian buildings on the Main Street for the Children's Ministry! I hope we don't have to move after the park closes.
Lots of activities when the park was in full swing.
The Alpine Side was quite an attraction for the youngster.

This will be a sad time to see this lovely village filled with colorful Victorian buildings  close. I hope someone steps forward and buys it and  revitalizes it soon. I also hope our church will continue to hold our Sunday services there. It is beautifully located in the foothills of Golden, Colorado.

Love is.../Blue Monday

We had a beautiful church service today and each time I attend church I find so much peace and feel so safe and secure close to Our Savior. This Love is...will always be a personal favorite of mine. Without God, life can be hopeless and filled with despair. If you don't believe me take a look around our world today.
I thought Sally and the Blue Crew would like these Scripture verses I shared highlighted in blue. Today was a blue day for lots of football fans, at least the teams that lost and are  finished for one more season.
Me, I was thinking about baseball and with the beautiful Spring like weather we had today I know there is hope that Spring is not too far in the distance.

Visit all those wonderful folks who share Blue Monday with each one of us and have a terrific week.

Love is.../Blue Monday

Hi, you will be shocked today! A very short post for me! I tend to get "wordy"! LOL!

I was challenged at Facebook to do the five day challenge and post three things that make my heart grateful. This Love is... says it best! I miss all the gals who use to participate in Love is...If you have them or love them share one with me please.
Found this at pinterest. The pale blue touches adds such elegance to this gorgeous vanity. I would sit there, even for a few minutes a day, and just dream! Sigh! Please tell Blue Monday and sweet smiling Sally you want to share some blue too. Have a super day everyone!

Someone I love lots needs to see this.

Love is.../Blue Monday

What a week! I could complain! I probably should complain! But lots has happened and I am just grateful for what is!
We missed the super moon but Saturday morning this beautiful sun came shining through a hole in the clouds. So I know God is still good and He is watching over this world.
We fell asleep Saturday night before catching the Super Moon. So here is a sweet share, how about a paper moon hanging in the window?
Nosey kitty. Mr. Kitty likes to be in a photo op! He wakes me each day with a loud "Meowwwwww." because he wants food and he wants it now! I am thinking of changing our bedroom colors to shades of orange but he is comfy here on my light turquoise and brown comforter set. We use the light fleece cover to catch all the pet hair and messes they send our way!  Especially litter trapped on their feet! Sigh!

The Margaret Carpenter Open Spaces has two bodies of water. This is the larger one. You can walk about one mile in distance around both and on the other side is the grassy fields where they play various sports like soccer and junior league football. Nick ran up here during high school. Lots of cool birds and critters like frogs and muskrats. Isn't the sky and water looking lovely in blue today?
This mean ole bird was eating all the fish and frogs on the shore, he would dive and never miss! He sits in the middle of the larger lake and commands everyone else. He is a supreme jerk and I was so angry that he ate all the frogs. Argh......
Mean ole bird and here is his friend, I call this egret Ego Bird:
He lets you get so close and flies away! He is another jerk! Lots of the little ducks and birds will just hang out these two are annoying.
This is yoga duck he is chilling on this rock enjoying the cool breeze. We walk one to two miles each weekend day. We use to walk every single day because we got up at five a.m. and enjoyed the quiet. Now it is getting harder to rise earlier. Both of us have super busy jobs and we need our rest! I am hoping we can go up to the rec center Thursday after work. The Nacho Men will be performing from 6:30 to 8:30. They are a unique band. They combine humor with dance music and lots of great costume changes as well as performing hits from the Swing era, the 50's, the 60's, Disco and beyond! I will hopefully be able to get close enough to the stage to take some photos. Please visit Sally and all the blues today!

Love is.../Blue Monday

Ah, this is the good stuff! I know I have told you before, but I have always loved Love is.... by the late Kim Casali and written and drawn by Bill Asprey. When I was dating my hubby and later when we were married and "newlyweds" I would cut these out of the daily newspaper and give them to him. Later on I pasted them on little scraps of construction paper and we still have them, all of them! This one is especially sweet for me! I love dancing and when I met my honey we danced up a storm! He didn't seem to enjoy as much as me these days but last weekend we stayed up way too late listening to oldies. We went to bed after 1:30 in the morning and that is  a record for us these days! We listened to lots of great oldies like the Bee Gees, Bread with David Gates and Gordon Lightfoot. My dream is to take some professional dance lessons with my honey but I am having trouble moving him in that direction! Laugh out loud! Our middle daughter loves country dancing and she is quite good. We plan to surprise her and go watch her dance on her birthday! She has met some wonderful dance partners and is as excited as a small child learning lots of new moves on the dance floor!
What a great thought! I believe we all need to be told we are awesome! It makes you feel good to hear something like this! I have another beautiful thought and it hangs in our Master bathroom. It says "Be your own kind of wonderful!" Do you know the song "Some Kind of Wonderful"?  A few years ago my oldest daughter gave me a musical birthday card that plays that song! Sometime I just need a lift so I listen to it! I love that card and that song!
Oh this verse from Scripture has given me comfort and peace many many times. It is beautiful in blue.
There are days that are not great and there are days that are awful!  These words have made me feel better many days. Instead of feeling blue!

Now please visit Marydon at Face Book (MD Middaugh) and share some Love is...favorites with her there. Then hop over to Sally's and share your favorite blues!

Love is..../Blue Monday

I like this Love is...growing old together! It has it's perks! Visit Marydon and tell her which Love is...you like best!
This brainy quote has a pretty blue sky. I thought it would look good at Sally's for Blue Monday! I also wanted to share this:
I know, I know, I am never a meanie but since both the Broncos and the Patriots wear blue I thought this was a great send off to the Super Bowl. I am very happy the Broncos are going there. It has been a long time coming. Ah, youth ....but both Manning and Brady have experience and are excellent QBs so someone had to win and someone had to lose. I heard a lot of talk about the youthful QBs today! I think ego got the best of Kaepernick. Just a personally observation, the way he pats his abs and kisses his throwing arm when he makes a TD! As for Russell Wilson, he also wears blue:
A classy QB and he has youth on his side. We will wait and see what the Super Bowl brings! May the best team win the big prize!

Love is.../Blue Monday

I am very blessed with my phamily and my hubby is the best there is. He is feeling awful and has to work tomorrow because his co worker is off for the day. I think he needs an anti biotic and more rest. Say a prayer for him please. We are a thriving phamily. This little Love is...actually reminds me of the grandbaby. He loves to water my flowers although the watering can is bigger than he is! He wanted to water on Thanksgiving but I told him all the flowers are sleeping til Spring. He is quite the little man!
Silliness for Thanksgiving Day! Momma, Daddy and Jayden! Stop by Marydon's
How about the December Blue Topaz gem stone for December? I have a lovely marquis cut ring my father gave me when I was 16. I need to bring it out and wear it. It is a lovely ring and I treasure it. I thought the blue topaz would make a good Blue Monday show! Tell Sally and the Blue Crew hi and check out lots of the great blues.

My early birthday celebration last night was great fun! Although my pretty tea cup cake was in green, purple , yellow and lavender I noticed a little blue on that plate! That 6 is a pretty shade of blue. Ah...another year older and although I have a creaky knee, a grumpy hip and other age related creaks and cracks I am generally in good health. I am thankful to God for His many blessings.

My middle daughter has all the photos she has not released to me yet but I received over 60 letters and cards with good wishes. It was amazing to read them and I will read them over and over. I was so excited when I started opening each individual card and letter. I am very blessed to have so many
wonderful people in my life.
There's my baby boy at Denver International Airport earlier today heading back to OKC and school in SW Kansas. He arrived safely wearing his skinny blue jeans and dark blue shirt. I miss him terribly and he returns December 13th. Say some prayers for him as he is having to take some really huge tests tomorrow and Tuesday.

Love is....Blue and Orange

How did I know when Andrew and Tarrah posted this pic of Jayden with his cool Bronco clothes that my Denver Broncos would go on to the next playoff game? Ha Ha! I didn't! But good things happen when you trust the Lord! So here is my tribute to blue and orange with  my Love is.. post today.
I like this rap video. No inappropriate language! Woo Hoo!
I am not trying to say the Lord is a Bronco fan but I am saying if you trust Him the way Tebow does, you never know when some nice things can happen to you and your team! Go Broncos!
I trust my Sweets very much. He takes good care of me and our phamily! So well I am sharing this wonderful Bronco win enjoy my little great grandbaby and the rap video for Blue Monday. Check out Sally's page and wish her well as you share your blues too!
Then hop over to visit Marydon and the ladies who post for Love is...Come join us. It is so much fun and each week I come across a Love is...I have not seen in a while or one that I don't recall seeing! It is loads of fun!
Now one last pic to share!
You see Tebow threw the touchdown pass, in overtime, to Thomas, and  we all know that Tebow trusts Jesus! Amen!

Love is... A Beautiful Blue Monday

After all the festivities we are settling in to a quiet Monday. See the little blue rug and pants on the little Love is... character? I thought they would be cute for Marydon and all the ladies at Love is... and Sally and all our Blue Monday crowd!

Hope your holiday was perfect! I am sharing some of our phamily photos here:

I was Zach's Secret Santa! He received a new winter jacket and matching gloves! He is Rebekah's beau!
Jeremy received a retro Bronco t shirt from Noelle's phamily.
Grandpa Roger with Devin and the girls, Alexis and Jaslin in the background.
Hannah and grandson Colton.

Hannah and Rebekah.

Tarrah, Andrew, Jayden (grumpy) and Lex.
Rebekah and Jayden (wide eyed).
This is a favorite photo. Sweets and I were getting ready for his office Christmas party  Dec 11, 2011. Rebekah shot this timed shot of her and I.
Santa baby and his daddy. Another favorite photo.
Some of our Christmas fare.

A truly favorite photo, Avery,Nick,Jeremy,Hannah,(back). Rebekah,Roger,Anne,Colton and Noelle (front). We played Cranium and Apples to Apples late into the night. We did not wake up until ten this morning! The two of us never sleep in like that! But we had a beautiful Christmas.  Today we are relaxing and catching up on a few household duties before getting back to work tomorrow.

Glad you stopped by. Hugs and lots of love to all of you.
