SONday SONday

Because of Jessia Marie Baker , please be kind. This beautiful woman graced this earth for a short 46 years. She was a daughter, mother, grandmother, friend. She cared for each person she met. She had a personality so big you would burst with joy when you met her. Yet, privately, her life was touched with much sadness. Yet she made everything worthwhile. I am going to do a reminder of her attitude of positive love, kindness and caring. This Wednesday, June 16th, her phamily and friends will gather at noon, at a local park to blow bubbles. Jessica loved bubbles. I have blown bubbles all my life. When I had to go to the USPS the years I did my own businesses like Princess House, Avon, MaryKay, House of Lloyd, Premier Design Jewelry, I often sat in my car waiting for the lines to subside and I would blow bubbles out of my car window. I received more smiles than anything else.

I was saving Brody in the bubbles for a Wordless Wednesday...but I started to think of Jessica and what a kick she would get out of this child. So this is for Jessica, kindness, happiness, love and joy rolled up in a busy boy with a contagious laugh! Life is fleeting, enjoy the bubbles!

Although this is just a meme, Rebekah Michelle was the 3 A.M. baby who waited from 10 A.M. to 3 A.M. the next morning to be born.  Today she celebrates 33 years of life.

Loves loves driving in the car. Even as a baby, although too young to get behind that wheel, she loved the jingle of car keys. She has traveled by her herself to lots of places, the farthest being Ireland in 2016.

She is a cutie. Today her husband came upstair clean shaved! We were all shocked, but as a birthday gift to h er, he shaved his beard. He has beautiful natural curly hair and he wears it longer.  So he shaved off that beard. She was tickled!

Tonight she will enjoy a Tres Leche Cake with carmel for her birthday. She always has a fun cake. Happy Birthday to Rebekah my "Tillie Girl".

This car, a 1953 Corvette was introduced the year I was born. Today Jeremy took his phamily, minus Blake (he stayed with us) to a car show. He sent me this photo:

Oh that is a beautiful car! Sigh.............

I will share more car photos throught this week. I am trying so hard to get back into blogging. It has been so difficult with Sharon and Jessica on my mind.

Say hello to Aw...Mondays

Love is...reading my mind on this hot and late SONday evening.

SONDAY SNOWDAY

This was early this SONday morning. Currently at two minutes to five o;clock in the evening the backyard, with blowing snow has snow up against the garage side door up to the door knob. They did not tell an untruth when they said we were getting possibly 40 inches. I think 40 inches is about right and this blizzard warning does not expire until 12:20 A.M.

This is unreal. We are hearing this could crack the top ten biggest snow storms and this will be H U G E when it stops falling. These photos look relatively normal, but we are just watching it fall from our windows, at least the ones that have a slit to peek through since the howling wind, blew the snow up against our doors and windows.

Who knows if remote learning would even work and those working from home. TV viewing is spotty, so it using the internet. So you can't do much in a blizzard. We are thankful we have food and warmth and each other.

We were watching a TV program on a cable channel. The national news came on and we were the headline story. They said by the time this is over Denver proper will receive 52 inches of snow. We have no where to shovel anymore snow. We have two five foot drifts that Zach and Rebekah had shoveled. But we are still safe and warm so we can not complain. Avery made a big pot of red chili with beans and hamburger. It is yummy. We have eaten it twice. He made us a hearty breakfast of biscuits and gravy and bacon. He is pretty sure he will not be able to get into work. My neighbor with a giant truck is stuck so there is that!

Here is a thankful list:

SNOW: Grateful always for the moisture because we needed it. But hopeful may others are safe and warm and well fed.

PHAMILY: A huge priority keeping the five of us safe. Cats could care less but the dogs do like to go outside. So making a safe path is important.

FOOD: Always grateful for yummy goodness. I found an Edwards Peaches and Cream pie yesterday at the store in the frozen food section. We put a dent in that pie. HaHaHa ! With chili in the fridge and other goodies we are going to be ok.

WINTERWEAR: It is important to have good boots, coats, gloves, hats in this weather because it does get nasty. We are grateful to be prepared.

TIME CHANGE: The Spring Forward change doesn't seem as difficult as the Fall Backward time change. Grateful to have a bit more daylight but missing that extra hour. HaHaHa

I am going to be prepared for my Aw...Mondays post as long as this power stays on. Say a prayer for us. We could use it.

SONDAY

I love SONday, we always have a good time eating breakfast together and we usually have lots of fun. The hubby made us biscuits and gravy today. I talked about the Buff in Boulder, Colorado. They have a great menu and that Dirty Hippie, is a cold Chai/Espresso drink made with your choice of  Moo - breve, oat, coconut, soy. But besides my hubby, they make a really excellent Biscuits & Gravy with Turkey Sausage. They also have a Rustic Benedict. I could eat breakfast food for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  One of these days, I am hoping we can visit them and have a sit down breakfast again.

We had a nice snow throughout the night. It did not accumulate much but the day warmed up nicely and we enjoyed it. My sweet hubby put our new desks together. NIck will have a new improved work station and I have a writing desk with a huge drawer. Rebekah and Zach helped us take down the tree in the living room and I took down the tree in our office area. I was sad. The memories in each ornament, the beautiful glow of the lights early in the morning and late at night. I miss it already. I usually spend my winters waiting for Spring. While some folks have a seed catalog planning their garden, I would wait for baseball. After the crummy season this year and all the politics to go along with it, I am sad I am losing my love of the sport. It is all about the almighty dollar, the political garbage they can shove at us and the fact that our hometown team is owned by a bunch of buffoons. Selling off all the best players so they can pick up the bargain basement has beens, It is so sad for me. It was bad enough the NFL went over the top with politics and still are promoting the agenda best suited for anybody but their fans. But our son has always been a stats guy. Since he was in the second grade and had a teacher who encouraged him to write and read about his most favorite thing, sports. He loves all sports, he ran cross country and track and field since the 7th grade all the way through five years of college. He belongs to these on line gambling sites. He is not a chronic gambler but he has fun. He asked us to join him and he helped me win $100 today laughing out loud. The last gambling I did, was in my 20's visiting the local dog track with my sister and placing those $2 bets on each race. We would carry three coin purses. One for winnings we split for each one of us and one for breakfast after the track closed. We often went on a Friday night and always had lotsof fun. Those days are long gone but I do not have luck playing Gin Rummy with husband. He beats me 90 percent of the time. Ha Ha Ha. So winning that cash and being able to cash it out so I can get my money was a thrill.

Here is a birthday cake I had years ago before I coud think of other great stuff I would like on my cake. The gals at my favorite bakery go out of their way to make your cake special. They've done so many for us. Our daughter uses a more upscale place for really unique cakes. They also do a nice job but they charge more for those cakes. But Vicki does such a beautiful job and she went through a change with their employer. THey switched from ALbertson's to Safeway.

This is my fancy 60th birthday cake a few years ago. HaHaHa! It was wonderful. When Rebekah graduated from college they made her an open book cake as she was an English Literature major.

Mister Kitty was preturbed yesterday morning that we had to get up and move. It was snowy and cold and he was enjoying the warmth of the bed, wrapped in blankets and sheets and such. He knows that pillow is the truth in this household! HaHaHa! Please visit Aw...Mondays.

Love is... Avery and I worked hard with Zach and Rebekah today. We are settling in for a good night's rest and hoping it will be filled with sweet dreams. We are like an old happy couple tonight but earlier today we thoguht we were youthful overowrking ourselves. Sweet dreams to you too!

A FEW SONDAY FUNNIES

Billy Graham was returning to Charlotte after a speaking engagement and when his plane arrived there was a limousine there to transport him to his home. As he prepared to get into the limo, he stopped and spoke to the driver.

"You know" he said, "I am 87 years old and I have never driven a limousine. Would you mind if I drove it for a while?"

The driver said, "No problem. Have at it."

Billy gets into the driver's seat and they head off down the highway. A short distance away sat a rookie State Trooper operating his first speed trap. The long black limo went by him doing 70 in a 55 mph zone. The trooper pulled out and easily caught the limo and he got out of his patrol car to begin the procedure.

The young trooper walked up to the driver's door and when the glass was rolled down, he was surprised to see who was driving.

He imediately excused himself and went back to his car and called his supervisor.

He told the supervisor, "I know we are supposed to enforce the law... but I also know that important people are given certain courtesies. I need to know what I should do because I have stopped a very important person."

The supervisor asked, "Is it the governor?"

The young trooper said, "No, he's more important than that."

he supervisor said, "Oh, so it's the president."

The young trooper said, "No, he's even more important than that."

The supervisor finally asked, "Well then, who is it?"

The young trooper said , "I'm  pretty sure it's Jesus, because he's got Billy Graham for a chauffeur!"

This cute little story from 2006 was everywhere and I loved it! Billy Graham was a first class gentleman, something so rare in our world today.

I wanted to share this because it is so simple and light hearted.

This is a very true statement and it applies to all canine and feline fur babies worldwide! Today is the second anniversary of the loss of Bandit. Jeremy had him from the time he was in high school until November 8, 2018. My photos are not loading so I will have to find out why. So for now I will say, I miss my little friend. He was black and white like a tiny tiny cow. He had the pointy ears and his hearing was perfect until the day the left this earth. He was a rat terrier and I believe he may have been the runt of the little but he was so smart. He was a marvelous little dog and he cherished Jeremy with his whole heart. About four years ago I was blessed to take him to a check up appointment with the vet. The vet said he did not think Bandit would live through the summer. Well, he sure fooled that foolish old doctor.  His sight did fail but he never lost the love he carried in his heart. We all miss him and he was the only braveheart to nap in Roxanne's little bed two weeks after her passing.

Bandit is wearing the red scarf and I need to have this photo reedited. He was a proud little dog and his heart was pure gold. Missing you always my little friend. You gave us 18 years to be with you. We lost Roxanne on 11-02-2013, Bandit 11-08-2018 and  Rose 11-10-2019.  I will write more about them as these days pass by. It is still hard.

For all the phamily who thinks my cat is a jerk here is photo to prove you all wrong. He took such care of Roxane during her last months of life. He was new to our tribe and he knew instantly she needed a special friend.  He was so kind and gentle to her, this little photo makes me smile when I see it. He was torn when she passed away. He howled into the night air and he was inconsolable. Perhaps losing his one true friend made him the ornery fellow he is today,
Rose was that same friend to Boots. The day he passed away, her birthday, she carefully groomed him for the last time. What a gem she was. She was a friend to Nick for 15 years. What a beauty she was even in her sickness, suffering from kidney disease, she loved that kid! Missing all of you sweet fur babies today and always,
