HAPPY MONTH OF MAY

Today has been a busy day! Working around the yard and garage. It was a cooler day with lots of wind. I took a nap and woke up to the end of a rain. The evening was cool and now the night has fallen. It is good to sleep in this weather. It is a good thing we left are heated blanket on the bed.

Tomorrow is our anniversary so I will drink my Sleepy tea and get some well deserved rest after a hectic day.

"D" Dresses and Dear Hearts

D is a tough letter for me. I L O V E dolls so my first thought is, do your alphabet post about dolls! But I received something in the mail today that flipped a switch in my brain and my heart!

I am always grateful to see kindness around me. Sometinme it is not so easy. But most every single day I find a kindness in the very smallest of things.Today my mail arrived and there was a package from Jenn in California. She is a LuLaRoe consultant and she had a mystery Carly grab bag recently. I love the swing dress "Carly". so I decided to purchase one that would be a mystery to me. She told me a few days ago she was packing  my Carly and she said she was in love with it. I remember saying I loved floral prints and I was thinking of another consultant who lives in Hawaii for a whole month each Spring and she had on the lovliest Carly. Whenever you participate in a mystery grab bag you can get just about anything. An extra, in this case, Carly or maybe three. You can get all sorts of cool things.

When I opened my package, it took my breathe away! There was the Hawaii girls Carly for me! But it came with a beautiful coral colored Shirley, which is a light coverup. Oh my goodness, I cried happy tears! Lately, with the puppies and Loki's genetic condition which is suppose to take his life sooner than later, I have been a wreck! It is sort of like the unknown experience we felt with Brody before he was born. All these things they say could happen. So aside from praying, whenever I hold Loki after feeding him and I am with him for 2 of his 4 daily feedings. I am spent, I am sad, I want to see this little firecrack live. While Jenn's extra kindness touched my heart. I was tickled to receive such a beautiful and generous outfit. So the letter D is for dresses that wear beautifully in this 90 plus degree heat wave we are having. The Carly dress is breezy and easy to wash and wear. It looks good and I get a lot of compliments when I wear them.

It Feels Like A Heat Wave

It feels like a heat wave. Although we recently were blessed with short rain showers we really didn't have much in the way of Springtime. A gal I Know who lives a little farther North in Colorful Colorado says they may still get a snow shower or two. I hope we are past that point in our weather. I love sunshine but I dislike extreme heat. I'm like my late Auntie Ang, she would say, if I wanted to live in Arizona, I'd move there when the heat kicked up too high in the warmer months. I sure miss her and I had to chuckle at this silly corn on the cob. My lil grands always tell me, we aren't suppose to say "shut up", it's a bad word, but this just made me chuckle. I know, I need to learn to be nicer.

Maxine always has a strong opinion on things. I Have to agree with her on this one. PLus it's not summer just yet.

A perfect quote regarding the hot weather just so you know I don't hate the heat, I just like cooler weather and tonight I am enjoying a nice breeze. Always a little something to be grateful for.

Prayer is always appreciated. I continue to pray for Kenny and his phamily as they deal with a very difficult health diagnosis. Prayers for Rebecca, it makes me sad when someone so kind is so sad. Prayers for Tressa and Kraig as they await the birth of their first child any day now. Prayers for debbie and her phamily especially her brother Rich and his wife. Marsha's mom as well as Debbie's mom transitioning into new housing.  Betsy, a wonderful friend for her health to keep improving each and every day. I always ask for my own phamily to be prayered for. Lots going on but especially Nick as he gets ready for yet another job interview. Always someone needing prayer regarding health or work related issues. Lots of folks needing prayer for mental health issues too. I think we often forget and our world today doesn't like talk about mental health. It is easier to remind everyone that it is not cost effective and watch the health industry just go about their daily jobs as long as we do not mention this dreaded illness. sOrry but 32 years in the health care inductry and I have seen too much change and not for the better regarding this issue.

A Little Weekend Fever

I have a viral thing again!  Nothing a flu shot can protect and after my dental appointment on Monday, this bug kicked into high gear to kick me down! So I am stopping by the blog to give a few updates.

Here are some teacups that would make me feel better. I have been living on herbal tea and honey and soup.  Stop by Beverly's and visit some Pinks. It has been a challenge watching my little sidekick great  grand boy but somehow we have managed. He drinks soup out of a pretty cup just like me! He has been quite a helper too.

He said I better make a u turn and head the right direction to Grammie Noelle's so we can take care of Trek.

He loves his leaves. He likes to crunch them under his feet. He is quite the great outdoorsman!

A pretty pink image. Love this tea set. Wanted to check in, since my first winner and I are trying to get together so she can get her giveaway win. Sometime life is just so busy. I am going to draw the final two winners after Rebekah;s wedding. Most days I see myself coming or going or something. I may have worn myself out trying to keep up with everyone and everything. I will make good on my promise to send out beautiful packages I hope the winners will love their treasures.

If we are to properly represent God we need to be careful how we treat the beasts of the earth that He so lovingly created for us.

My daughter Noelle was with my sister Mary today. Because I am feeling so badly I could not go and was sad. My friend Kathy lost her precious mom Simi. Noelle is like the adopted child of Kathy since she stood by me all the years I was a single parent.  Noelle attended the memorial service for Kathy's mom. I am sad and ask for prayers, not only for Kathy and her phamily grieving this difficult loss, her mom was a tiny bundle of energy and a wonderful nurse. But please pray for my friend Vivian too. She fell and could not get up and was moved into a nursing home. I have to get home after the wedding and the holidays to visit with her. She is one of those friends that sticks by you no matter what.  While she was visiting, Noelle took a photo of this childhood photo where my sister Mary is front and center and my brother Eddie in on your left and cousin Kenny on your right while the twins, (cousins) Marla and Darla were in the middle. The four of them made their first communion and my sister was dressed like a lovely angel, which she really is. I sure love my life.

L A Y L A : A DOG'S LIFE

My daughter Noelle and her husband Roger had to make the difficult decision to put this girl to rest today. Cancer SUCKS! It stinks, it is mean and hateful. Stealing the life of this precious girl. She had surgery in February and for a brief while she was fine. She became ill this week so quickly. Lymphoma, a horrible, awful, disease. Layla was 9.

The goofiest and silliest girly dog ever. Our son Jeremy called her "Rufus". She was so silly, she knew he meant her and she would acknowledge him. We all cried so many tears.

Layla was Roger's girl. A woman I worked with, had a sister, who said she had to get a new home for Layla because her apartment had height restrictions. It broke Noelle's heart to see her go into a shelter so she convinced Roger they needed Layla to be friends with Trek, their other furry phamily friend. The sad story about all this is that woman bought a white boxer after she dumped Layla. Sometime when you don't want pets, I wonder why there isn't something to notify breeders and pet stores that you do not really care about the animal.

After her February surgery she came home, much to the delight of Trek. Now anyone who knows Trek knows he is very unfriendly to other pets but Layla was special. He loved her. I would stop by the house a few days a week to check on them, fill their food or water and let them run in the yard. The last few days I noticed Trek did not go too far away from her. Say a prayer for Trek. He is going to be so sad without his number one girl.

Layla once walked right up to Rose, Nick's cat and stuck her face in Rose's space. The claws came out and Rose swiped her nose. Didn't stop Layla, she looked as if the cat truly wanted to be her friend and Rose swiped her a second time, drawing blood. She also won Trek's heart, even Harrison and Trek have this volatile relationship. Trek barks wildly and Harrison scolds the dog! You have to step between them! But Layla was different. The only naughty thing Trek would do was steal her treats. I learned to bring a few extra ones when I went over to their house. I would tell him, ladies first, and he started to understand. I will miss those moments.

Roger and Noelle gave Layla a good life. They loved her unconditionally, something we do not always see when it comes to pets. But she wasn't their pet, she was their phamily.

Mix It Up

My Sweets and I have been sick with head colds. we seems to have a pattern when we get sick. Yesterday, he took the day off and we rested and saw the new movie, Wonder Woman. We sure could use a few more role models like her. What a well done movie it was. The actress was stunning and she fit the role perfectly.

I missed my favorite Monday meme's: Aw....Mondays and Blue Monday. This crude has knocked my socks off! Zero energy. I like to stay close to my comfy bed and pillow.  I keep praying I will shake this. The hubby has two weeks worth of overtime starting next Monday. He has to work a M-W-F from 8 to 9 - and then work a T-Th the following week. A co worker is out of the office so he and Tony share the long hours. It makes for a long work week but a nice fat paycheck! He feels 75 percent better so he tells me. He sure takes good care of my aches and pains. He is a keeper. A true gem! I hope we keep keeping on for a long long time!

If you know the musical group Little Big Town you might know this song, Pain Killer. This is my theme song for my hubby. He is my strength when I feel weak. Sometime I hear songs and I think, that  was so nice of the songwriter to write that song about me and the hubby! Marnie Reid Crowell is a conservationist, natural history writer and poet. She penned these words " To keep the fire burning brightly there's one easy rule:  Keep the two logs together, near enough to keep each other warm and far enough apart - about a fingers breadth-for breathing room.  Good fire, good marriage, same rule." Although the hot weather is moving in and the cooler days are going away, this is excellent advice.

"I" is for .....Welcome March and the World of Tea

I feel Spring in the air! Icy cold drinks like sweet tea and lemonade will fill our days and the weather will warm!

It is still cold outside and we usually get hit with a big snowstorm in March. It is hard to begin planting until around Mother's Day and two years in a row we got snow on Mother's Day! I found these two peeking out from the cold earth this morning. I went to stand up my frog who protects the garden. He is sort of a garden gnome. I found these buds shooting up.

Since I is my letter today I was thinking of snow and icicles. I also had an idea and was going to attempt to redo a French Provencial chest of drawers and  a matching nightstand. I was thinking of using chalk paint. Let me know if you have any ideas to share.  What is your favorite "I" word share.

This tiny blue bird reminds me of Springtime. March is a difficult month for me. My oldest sister Pat had a March 27 birthday which is also the day I was informed, in 1987, that our unborn daughter Rachel had perished in utero. My niece Sarah who left this earth too soon was also a March birthday girl. But my nephew Ryan and several good friends share March as their birth month so I smile more these days. It is a reminder that my favorite feline BFF Boots left this life after a brief but devastating illness. I like to remember those who left before me in a happy way and never forget the beautiful memories I shared with them all.

'E" is for Emergency and Other Fun FIlled Valentine's Day Treats

Ah....Valentine's Day! some love it, others think it is too commercial. I enjoy it because I have a special someone to share it with and it is a heartful month with the reminder to check your heart, especially ladies!  I chose "E" for Emergency because of last night. Heart attacks for men are quite classic episodes. Griping chest pain, sweating, nausea and vomiting. Women the attack is more subtle jaw and arm pain. This is something I experienced after dinner last night. Grateful for the new emergency hospital five minutes from my home. I was there from 9 P.M. to 1:30 A.M. I feel very badly for my honey. He is working alone today until 3 P.M. when his other co worker comes in. Oh there are people who can pitch in and help but when it comes to their primary job he and Tony and Geraldine are masters at it!

I sent my sweet hubby home at midnight where he had 90 minutes of rest until he had to come back for me. I had a new blood test that can show heart muscle damage. Problem is they have to run it twice within two hours of each other and I was very grateful. It came back normal both times. I was told if it occurred again to go right back to the ER. Otherwise I will my doctor Friday and go from there. I also had a low potassium level . It is what it is. I just need to take it easy and slow down a bit.

Some days Maxine just tells it like it really is!

Say a prayer for this girl Layla. She is a boxer who belongs to Roger and Noelle. She got really ill really quickly and last night went to the Vet. She has kidney failure. She is resting comfortably there today as she needed surgery. Her cohort Trek is miserable at home without her. He is not a male dog person and does not play well with them but Layla, he loves this girl, even when he steals her treats. she is my share for my late Tuesday Show and Tail because I was hooked up to an assortment of machines at the ER so could not finish this post timely.

WEDNESDAY

It is Wednesday and I can not really say how Monday and Tuesday got away from me! I had a nice post for Aw...Mondays, a Blue Monday share, and some other assorted things to share but life happens as they say!

I feel absent this week! So I am trying to make up for it here today. Yesterday the hubby took an entire day off work to work on the commodes in our two bathrooms. We received a letter from the city stating there is continuous  running water and they have been monitoring it since November 2016 They will charge us a much higher sewer charge if we do not take care of it. Politicians! U G H ! But my honey fixed them and so far we do not see any problems. I like the letter "A" as my first name begins with this awesome letter. I also thought being absent was a good choice to start my Alphabet Share today.

I thought this Scripture was a perfect fit. where has kindness gone in this world? We need more of it.

I read both of the books written by W. Bruce Cameron. The first one was given to me by a dear friend Myra. I loved the book more but the movie was sweet , the pets were delightful. I heard lots of bad rumors that someone saw animal abuse while filming. According to the books author and Dennis Quaid, the human star of the show, neither one saw this inappropriate behavior. I feel like this, if you saw it happening, why wait until the film's release until you shout it from the mountaintops? I think today people are so use to seeing others get their five minutes of fame, they think they deserve it too. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the movie and the various dogs who were in it. The books are very heartwarming. I recommend lots of Kleenex while reading them.

I have a Well Woman Check today with a new provider. When I called to schedule one, I told the gal helping me  I did not know who to see since my doctor does not do well woman checks. She suggested a brand new provider named Erin who is loved by many patients already. She got me in in three days! So I am going there shortly. I dread these appointments as well as dental appointments. I have a broken tooth, a possible cavity and need a cleaning. I already told the dentist I refuse to pay for his son's medical schooling! He is a very good dentist but his office is on the other side of town! It is worth the drive as he is honest and friendly and does a great job.

We are both Colorado natives. My dad was very proud to be one and we once gave him a T shirt bearing that. Colorado weather can change in a minute. Sunny skies yield to rain or snow or sleet or hail! We can have 60 degree temps today and a blizzard tomorrow. It is always a roll of the dice! Today we have temps in the 50's with wind, lots of wind!

We weren't fans of either team in Super Bowl 51 but we donned our Bronco tie dye shirts and watched the game. We have new tie dyed shirts coming for next season.
