Feline Friday

Feline Friday Do you think this cat is being truthful?

This cat thinks he is an airplane. Like children, a cat and or a dog would rather play inside an empty box than play with the expensive toys inside.

The Lord cares about living creatures. He is not concerned with color, he created man/woman in His own image. He created animals to use for good not to abuse or harm. The bible is filled with Scripture showing how much God cares for all His living creatures.

Do you subscribe to any magazines? I use to get many of them but today I only keep up with a few. I use to get Good Housekeeping, I love Bon Appetit and Better, Homes and Gardens along with Southern Living.

This dog cracks me up! Is it really Friday already? Y A Y ! It means for me, I get 9 whole days, God willing, with my sweet husband Avery. He is on vacation . We will celebrate Hannah's big birthday bash Saturday. We will have all week long to do somethings we have beein missing. We heard a favorite pizza place in Colorado Springs, Fargo's is back in business after nearly a year hiatus! SO grateful for this.

It will be so nice to go back and have pizza with our phamily.

Fargo and Sophie have greeted guests since December 1973. Boy oh boy, was I a youngster back then barely in my first year of college.

Having participated in the Tuesday 4 blog hop and talking about my blogging experiences throughout the years, I started to think of people who blogged and then left for whatever reason, Here are a few of them:

Linda  lives on a Kansas farm. She is an Alaska born girl living her life out on the plains of Kansas. She and her husband Phil are the most amazing CHRISTian couple. Their mission has always been to bring people  to Christ.  I miss the days of her blogging and keeping up with the farm and their kids and grands. What a wonderful person Linda is. She is the most amazing friend and I had the pleasure of meeting her, Phil and their daughter Tressa on a trip to Sterling, Kansas to watch Nick run in a college XC Meet. I love Linda like a sister and she is always there for anyone who needs prayer.  I really wish she had the time to come back to blog.

Barb I have known Barb since age 13. She was my first pen pal from Tiger Beat magazine. Back in the day when you could make friends without fear of meeting a kidnapper or get involved in some horrible situation. She is the one who encouraged me to blog. I miss her keeping up her blog. Life happens to allof us, I just wish she could come back and journal all the things she has had to deal with regarding health issues for both herself and her sweet hubby. Did I mention I was her maid of honor when they married in 1977? We keep in touch, still today.

Shannon This lady is one of the sweetest kind hearts I know. She had a wonderful blog, a journal of sorts. She has a business JunkFlirt and she repurposes old furniture and whatnot. Her talent is incredible and she suffers from a disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis. She suffers in pain more than I could even imagine yet she preserveres and works hard on her business. I know a bit about the disease because my great cousin Mike has it. He wrote about on his blog Life in BoJon Town because the illness strikes many people with an Eastern European ancestry. Mike knows I would like to see him blog again. He has the most colorful language of anyone I know who blogs but he has not had an easy time with his health. I loved when he told stories of our childhood neighborhood. He always say, no matter where I live, Bojon Town will always be my home. I feel the same way he does. Mike also knows I will take any opportunity I can to badger him about blogging. He has a real knack for writing and all those stories, they warm my heart.

Angela is another blogger who I miss so much. She had a blog hop called Tuesday Show and Tail. It was so much fun and I keep bugging her to come back to blogging too.

I didn't write this to slight any other blogger that stopped but if you read this and know others, please give us all a shout out. I use to have this crazy dream that I was given the opportunity to travel America in one of those luxury RV's. I would dream that I traveled from states A to Z and would track down each blogger I knew in each state. Wouldn't that be the coolest job ever? The thing about dreams, no one can take them away from you.

In memory of my old neighborhood, my folks and all those amazing great BoJon's I know Goodnight and Sweet Dreams. May God bless each one of you and may we live to see another day all together now, God willing.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

Thankful Thursday I am truly thankful today for so much. I am going to list it here:

1. Phamily - without them, where would I be? Having Hannah and Jake here for a while is a blessing of which I am thankful. As I was typing away, Harrison James came creeping into my bedroom and scared the dickens out of me! He was laughing so hard. Goodness, I love his laughter.

2. Hard Work - getting ready for Hannah's birthday bash this weekend. Rebekah and Hannah and Jake washed down the patio and cleaned off the tables and chairs. Then they started to trim the giant pine tree. Which led to more cleaning. Hannah and Jake were up on the roof cleaning the gutters. Jake cleared the gutters and now everything is so good. Thankful for them and all the hard work.

3. Free Firewood- it has been in the 90's and we keep hearing maybe breaking 100 ( no no no please Lord no). So firewood would be the last thing on your mind right? But Hannah and Jake will cut up the big branches that fell and take them home for their winter warmth. So very thankful.

4. Baseball - It is hard to have a day go by that I don't mention baseball. I am thankful for it. Thankful for my dad that played semi pro ball long before I was thoughts about. Thankful for my mom who also played the game and two brothers as well. I played it and enjoyed it but I don't think I did enjoy it the way my mom did. I suppose she played in a different time and everyone loved the game. I was timid ( I know it is hard to beleive) so I was not as forceful as some of the bigger girls who were really good. But I have always loved the game. Now we get to watch Brody play his T Ball. Thankful

5. Games- Thankful for all the fun kid games we have. Harrison is the master of Banana Blast and Candyland. He is like Grandfather Avery. Ha Ha Ha - winner winner, I say they are both two big chicken dinners!! Brody is the puzzle master. He puts those together so quickly with Grandpa Avery and Rebekah too. Blake is our little smartie. He does everything Brody does. So he can count to 10 and he knows all his letters and colors. It is amazing to watch these little ones grow up.

Thankful for all good things in my life and for all of you too.

I always like to leave some wise words for you to read and hopefully share.

Some humor to make sure you smile more.

Happy Tuesday

 Happy Tuesday

Last night I posted one of the several photos we took yesterday. You know, with this bunch, you try to get it perfect. This is about perfect. Leo was facing forward and we were not looking at his hind quarters! These people make me happy. So much so that I did not get a single thing done that I should have. Tomorrow Avery will go back to work and I will be sad. I love spending time with my sweetheart. But I can get  my laundry caught up, clean my house somewhat and get back to blogging and commenting. We had so much company today.

These ribs cook all day long. It is so hard waiting, waiting, waiting. But they are so good. The whole day was perfect. Unlike today where I overate everything I should not and finally had to drink my peppermint tea to settle my tummy. Tomorrow will be a better food day and I am happy about that.

I get Maxine today. I have a hard time passing up desserts!

Have you ever had a bad day like this one? HaHaHa! Leave it up to Loretta to find this humorous share.

Prayers get answered and I am happy and thankful and grateful for that. Logan is the cutest soon to be 2 year old. He's speech is soooooo good. We prayed so hard for him when he was born so early. But look at him now and that curly hair. It seems so unfair, boys with long lashes and perfect curls.

We were so anxious when Logan was born so soon. But God, whatever His plan is, knows all, and he does care for us. I am happy Logan is a happy boy.
Tarrah and Ella. When Ella came as a three month early CHRISTmas Eve surprise we prayed hard and so many others prayed too. Ella is such aperfect sweet little girl. Tarrah is no longer in heart failure and waiting on the transplant list for her kidney. Pray works. God answers.

My father spoke directly out of the Book of James. Oh how I love this book. I am so grateful God listened to each prayer sent up for Tarrah and Ella. I am so happy they are here with us today.

Time for rest and dreaming. Someone I know, also named Anne, had a horrible dream, I think more of a nightmare. She was dreaming of her late mother, that she was still alive and she was searching for her. Satan was putting stumbling blocks in Anne's path. Please pray for Anne. She recently has been helping a friend, Thomas, who had a bone marrow transplant. He has no phamily,  Anne and her husband were helping him as much as they could. She has a stressful job and to top that all off her sweet boy Thackery, a beautiful feline has been hit with many health issues. No matter what the doctors say, Thackery prevails. Please pray for all of them. I think Anne has a heavy heart with all that is going on and she was so very close to her mom. Satan does what he can to steal our joy, steal our salvation, steal anything he can get his hands on. Please pray for Anne and her loved ones.

Jesus came to save souls, Satan to try to steal them.

I am grateful for each one of you and pray I see you here tomorrow. Have a restful night.

HAPPPY TUESDAY

 Happy Tuesday

Noelle sent me two photos of the phamily here. I think Benjamin is looking down in the one I posted yesterday. It is hard to catch all those smiling faces at one time! I just wanted to ask for prayer for Tarrah. When Ella was born, Tarrah's kidneys started to fail. So now she is on a list for a transplant and even has a few friends and relatives that are willing to be tested. These are the times I need my friend Sharon. But since I can not see her in this earthly life again I feel lost. I know lots of information about transplants. I worked in the UCHSC medical school and hospital for many years. But Sharon was a dialysis patient and she knew all the intricacies. Actually I never knew anyone as smart as she was about medicine. Having worked in the hospital starting at age 16 when she collected info for birth certificates. Sharon had a wealth of knowledge regarding the medical field. Attending doctors adored her and often would not talk to anyone else to admit their critical patients. She was in a class by herself. Her mom managed the Medical Records department for many years. Between Sharon and Naomi, you always had the best info you needed regarding your patients. My heart hurts for Sharon's mom. She is 89 years old and she and her husband, Troy were caring for Sharon. I know I will send more letters to her mom and remind her of Sharon's stories we shared through the years. I am happy I knew such an amazing woman.

Maxine always has an opinion on everything under the sun. She is right on about this one!

John MacArthur helped me through many difficult moments when my kids were small. Working a full time job opposite my husband we seemed to pass like ships in the night. He worked days and I worked the second shift. An older woman I worked with Betty Adams gave me  info on to the Bellview Bible School/College and Christian radio station.  She and her husband attended the Pilar of Fire also on the campus. The campus is a very lovely place. When our kids were small my husband took classes and studied two years of New Testament Greek. I always was sad he could never finish his degree there but he learned so much from so many older gentlemen who taught at the college. The radio played wonderful music and they hosted many programs from Kevin Lehman, a Christian child psychologist to Focus on the Family , Elisabeth Eliott , Joni Eareckson Tada and many others. I found if I listened to these programs and the music my chaotic life was calmed from the storms of life. The Westminster Castle was built in 1908 and this beautiful building stands on the top of a hill overlooking  the campus where there is a school and  the church and radio station as well as a cemetrey where many of those who have left this earth are buried.

This is a photo of the castle .  Dr. Robert Dallenbach is still involved in the Pilar of Fire church but at 93 he is officially retired.

I just don't know what I would do without Loretta. This caught my eye and made me laugh until I heard something snap, crackle or pop!  Loretta is a lifeline to humor and sheer silliness.

I wish you all a restful night. My father use to say, "God willing tomorrow......(fill in the blank). As I studied the bible for myself I learned he had taken that from the book of James. So I will often say I hope we are all here tomorrow or God willing, I pray we meet again tomorrow. We are not promised any days so I am grateful for the one I have right now. Take care and enjoy your new week.

HAPPY TUESDAY

Humor is always a great thing to start the day off with. We have had so much rain that I need to dress in layers. It gets really cold. But our grass looks really great so that makes us happy. Aw...Mondays

I found this 1980 something photo of my sweet hubby with his mom Rita. They looked so cute with their coordinating shirts. It is hard to believe she has been gone since 2010.

A 1970 something favorite photo of my mom and me. I love this photo and keep it close. My mom always loved Mother's Day and all the holidays. She was a great cook and good parent. Missing her since 2001.

Sandee here is a Maxine for you and me and everyone who relates. The rain let up temporarily so I had a quick chat with my neighbor Carlene.  We complain about our solar situation. We can at least laugh about it.  She liked my new shoes so I came home and sent her the link.

In case you need some cute walking shoes these are great! They match my fancy pants I chose today.

The Serendipity Singers – Don't Let The Rain Come Down Lyrics

Chorus
(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
My roof's got a hole in it and I might drown
Oh, yes, my roof's got a hole in it and I might drown

There was a crooked man and he had a crooked smile
Had a crooked sixpence and he walked a crooked mile
Had a crooked cat and he had a crooked mouse
They all lived together in a crooked little house

Chorus

Well, this crooked little man and his crooked little smile
Took his crooked sixpence and he walked a crooked mile
Bought some crooked nails and a crooked little bat
Tried to fix his roof with a rat-tat-tat-tat-tat

Chorus

Now this crooked little man and his crooked cat and mouse
They all live together in a crooked little house
Has a crooked door with a crooked little latch
Has a crooked roof with a crooked little patch

Chorus

Chorus

(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
(Ah, ah) Oh, no, don't let the rain come down
My roof's got a hole in it (my roof's got a hole in it)                                                   My roof's got a hole in it and I might drown

MAY FIRST 2021

April flew by and here comes May! Filled with happy moments and sad ones too. Avery and I will celebrate 37 years of marriage on May 3. May 6th would be the birthday for my late brother-in-law Gary and May 8 would be the 113th birthday of my favorite Uncle Louie. My Tata Rose passed away on May 12.  and Shea Avery Marie will turn one year old on the 19th.  My grandparents Joseph Kocman and Mary Videtich were married on May 22.  May is filled with many memories and bittersweet times.  Welcome May!

37 years of marriage today! It is the second time in our marriage I have been sick. I had food poisoning Friday and I won't go into that but I still feel wonky. So with a cold rainy day and the hubby busy as a bee at his office, it is a good day to rest.

We've had a good marriage, fun times and lots of sadness too. But all in all we have a strong bond and we enjoy our time together.

The older I get, the less time I want to spend with the part of the human race that didn't marry me. ~Robert Brault, rbrault.blogspot.com

What greater thing is there for two human souls, than to feel that they are joined for life — to strengthen each other in all labour, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting? ~George Eliot (1819–1880), Adam Bede, 1859

I know that marriage is a legal and religious alliance entered into by a man who can't sleep with the window shut and a woman who can't sleep with the window open. ~Ogden Nash, "A Definition of Marriage," 1948

Happy Tuesday and Maxine Cracks Me Up

Someone set up housekeeping and a nursery on Hannah and Jake's backporch. Aren't those eggs so beautiful? I figured they would be perfect for Happy Tuesday Are you a fan of birds? I have always been amazed at their ability to create such lovely nests for their young.

I have never seen Maxine flip out like this! She is one tough chick.

On Friday Nick wanted a couple donuts. I was not about to sit in the driver thru with ten cars ahead of me for two donuts! So I bought his favorites and hs dad's too. Unfortunaterly, for me, I ended up eating two of the filled donuts. I usually do not eat them but they were fresh.

Oh Loretta, I get her humor. I have seen people in grocery stores with pets that are no more a support pet then I am! So many truly needy folks are on waiting lists to get an Emotional Therapy dog.   Whoever decided it is ok to consider your pet as a support animal was out of their mind. I saw a man in the store with a very angry and agressive dog and when the clerk asked for his certificate for the dog he laughed at her. I was really fearful because the dog was huge and very angry. I suppose when someone gets hurt and stores are sued they might change their mind about some of these things. I prefer Loretta's emotional support chicken with a biscuit. That sounds really yummy.

Have a great week and get your rest! Take care.

Thank you to Linda Conley for this meme.  I L O V E this! I need to post this somewhere so I see it and think about it  everyday. Folks, the world is losing it's grip completely. I am so sad but my hope is in Jesus and His return. C'mon Jesus.

Hoping to see you tomorrow for another day. Sweet dreams....
