Happy Tuesday and Tuesday Show and Tails

The month of November flew by. How did we come to December 1st? I am a December baby so I love my birth month. Come visit Thankful Tuesday.

I have done a grateful, thankful and blessed post daily at my blog My Tata's Cottage. It has helped me tremendously keep  my spirits up and keep from falling into the terrible trap of "Oh woe is me!" "We are all going to die!" "Worship science, forget God."  Someone is constantly saying I feel so sad, I am depressed. I am not an expert but I know enough to say stop listening to everything you hear on social media, the news, people with negative attitudes. Surround yourself with all the good things you love. I love tea and drink it most days. We keep chocolate in a drawer and eat some nearly everyday. There are so many little simple things to keep you smiling. If you feel sad or depressed please try this and talk to someone you truly trust. I have mentioned before, my hubby is all I have left in the total trust dept. I lost my two dear friends Mollye and Vivian and they literally took all the secrets I shared with them to their grave. I miss them so much so I do the encouragement group. When I read what others are experiencing it literally hurts my heart. Many friends I have known,  I am always hear to listen. I am my mother's daughter. I am just the way she was. A people person.

I learned this little tidbit when I lost my job November 13, 2014. All these years later it was the biggest blessing that could have happened to me. I do not miss any of it.

This would be me, same glasses and all!  I am just thankful for today and for all the fun I am having. I am trying so hard to keep positive and keep trusting God. I know Jesus is preparing to return. This world holds nothing that will last forever and if someone believes that I feel terribly sorry for them.

Oh Maxine, you need to stop !  Her little dog with his sun shades is a precious sight to see. I am hoping Angela return to blogging soon.

Aw...Mondays and More

Leo is kind of a big dill and he knows it! Rebekah and Zach did some Black Friday shopping and the pups are all so happy. Leo has carried this new toy around since Friday when he gifted it.

Leo was so happy!

The company who makes this bed needs Leo for their spokes-dog. He is in love with this.

Leo is so happy. He is getting older and his joint are not as limber as they once were. He moves more slowly. But he is in love with this bed. Can you tell?

The bed is fan club approved. Some of his fans are in the background. Please visit Aww...Mondays and say hello.

Although we were not engaged during the holidays many choose this time of year for it. Love is...is so appropriate for anytime of the year.

Pink Saturday

If I had a room to put this beauty in I would order it. I love a colorful tree and this pink tree is perfectly beautiful. Please visit Pink Saturday and say hello.

The holidays remind me of all my loved ones who are no longer here. My auntie Ang taught me this song when I was very small. I still love it today.

Feline Friday

This is so truthful!  So stop by Feline Friday and share your feline. Mine our sleeping so I must resort to google images.

At My Tata's Cottage I wrote about this silly pig platter. I have had it since the late 1980's. We serve ham on it, appropriate right? Noelle cooked a delicious ham today. Mr. Pig never fails us.

We hope your THANKSgiving 2020 was perfect. I Know our's was. Love and joy and peace to everyone one of you. I care about each one of you. Thank you for your friendship here. May the rest of 2020 and particularly CHRISTmas 2020 be perfection too. God Bless You, Each and Every One.

THANKFUL THURSDAY and FRIENDLY FILL IN'S

Thankful Thursday Please stop by and say hello to Brian and all the fun folks who participate.

Thankful for the CHRISTmas lights in our neighborhood. We had a last minute item we needed at the store so we zipped over to our Safeway and they had what we needed. Not many customers late in the evening. Y A Y !  SO we took the back roads home. This was so lovely.

This one was not a great shot because a car was coming up behind us. We will get more photos as the lights come up all over. We love it and are grateful for them.

Thankful for people who go the extra mile to make their yards beautiful. We have several blow ups so we plan to put them up. Once the snow melts away. We bought Baby Shark to add to our Snoopy, our penguin, giant Santa, Olaf from Frozen and my favorite the three piece nativity. Hopeful we can buy a few more to add to our collection. We have great electrical outlets on the front yard.

Ellen  and Lorianne co host Friendly Fill In's. They each think up two questions. Here they are:

1. Why is __________so expensive?
2, On holidays, I always have a second serving of ___________.
3. I'm eternally grateful for _____________.
4. 'Tis the season for _____________.

My answers are here:

1. Why is everything so expensive? I noticed groceries skyrocketed and most everything else. Oh it is a hard year for everyone. 2020 is lucky to get a one star rating.

2. On holidays, I always have a second serving of veggies and desserts, so they balance each other out.

3. I'm eternally grateful for having been raised with wonderful traditions and the most marvelous parents anyone could ever have.

4. 'Tis the season for good cheer. Seeing loved ones and good friends and enjoying all the festivities. I personally still send some cards out for CHRISTmas. I love getting mail that is not junk. HaHa!

My sweet mom in the plaid dress in front of her mom. Auntie Jo had not been born yet and mom lost two sisters who I believe passed away at birth or shortly afterward. Frances and Rose. My daddy bought Rose a beautiful headstone before his passing. Frances was buried in the old cemetery so feeling sad there is no record anyone is aware of.  My grandfather and the young boy, next to my grandma was Uncle Tony and they passed away in a mining cave in 1927. This photo is one that is priceless to me and so grateful I have it.

Aw...Mondays

It is Monday and  some of us feel like this bear. He is getting ready to hibernate. I purchased postcards when I could not find them in my local stores. Hooray for the stores that finally restocked. This fellow and many other animal postcards were lovely but not the kind of quality I am use to. So I am sharing him here as a tribute to 2020. Check out his claws. Visit Aw...Mondays and say hello.

I have a relative, my cousin Cec who rehabs these critters along with many others. She and her hubby live near our hometown in Southern Colorado.  She has a heart like an animal because these creatures great and small love her. It is something to see, at least my big brother told me the story. I admire her love of wild animals.
Since we've been decorating and took a break to cook, I am in the spirit of the season. So is Love is...they never can make me not feel pure happiness.  Hope you enjoy it.

Sleep well, take your vitamins and get plenty of rest. The new week is upon us. Happy Monday all.

Pink Saturday

A perfectly beautiful Collins Street Bakery  A quick reminder to visit Pink Saturday I was going to write about this fruitcake at my other blog, My Tata's Cottage. But here I am using this fruitcake for Pink Saturday. So I will tell my story twice. When I worked in the medical school at UCHSC in Denver in the 1980's, I worked with a very nice doctor from Texas. One year he sent us all these fruitcakes. Now most people dump a fruitcake in the trash and that is sad. There is lots of love and ingredients poured into a fruit cake. This one at collinstreetbakery.com has organic pineapple from Costa Rico , crunchy Texas pecans and all natural honey. Move forward to the early 2000's. Suzanne who use to blog at Colorado Lady had an idea to make a fruitcake. Now it costs lots of money to make on these babies. So I suggested she order from Collins Street Bakery in Corsicana, Texas. As a Texan I thought she knew about these folks. It costs her a week's wages to create her own fruitcake! But it was not that costly at the bakery. Now move to December 2017. Rebekah and Zach were getting married and she was doing all these Irish wedding traditions. One was to have a fruitcake soaked in Jameson whiskey or any other fine Irish whiskey. So I Purchased a bottle of Jameson and soaked that fruitcake for their wedding. So although I am not a spokesperson for Collins Street Bakery in Corsicana, Texas, I can testify that this fruitcake is very yummy. You may or may not soak it in brandy or whiskey or rum before you eat it. It is best to let it soak for a good 2-4 weeks.  That's my story. I felt with the holidays upon us, I would share it. If you do not like fruitcake, you probably won't order a fruitcake. fyi they have lots of other goodies to purchase too. (wink wink). I am the catalog queen and have ordered from these fine folks previously. So I do know a good thing.

"Friends are the fruitcake of life - some nutty, some soaked in alcohol, some sweet.": John Ronson

"There's a little bit of fruitcake left in everyone of us. " Jimmy Buffet

"Political advice is a bit like your average  CHRISTmas  fruitcake, something everyone gives and no one wants. "

"We need more fruitcakes in this world and less bakers." Jimmy Buffett

Feline Friday and Friendly Fill In's

Do you remember Felix the Cat? I always wanted the Felix the Cat clock. I loved that clock! Felix was created and first debuted in 1919! He looks pretty darn good for 101 years old doesn't he? I hope you will stop by Feline Friday.  Join the fun and don't be late! I have no good excuse that I am so late. I suppose moving slower and taking time to enjoy everything around me is the best excuse I have. Please have a wonderful weekend.

Ellen and Lorianne co host this fun blog hop. I hope you join us too. Here are this week's questions, which are chosen by these two lovely ladies.

1. ___________is funny.

2. I've written a fan letter to ____________.

3. ____________is easier than it looks.

4. ____________is harder than it looks.

Here are my answers:

1. Life is funny. We never know what twists and turns will come up.

2. I've written a fan letter to no one ever.

3. Putting a puzzle together is easier than it looks.

4. Driving a stick shift is harder than it looks. I am not a fan and never will be.

Garfield is already enjoying his weekend.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

Thankful Thursday Visit Brian and all those who participate.  Leo is a thankful gift. He loves looking out the door but he loves running in the backyard even better. These blog hops mean so much to me to participate. Today was just a runaway ! I started working in my garage early this morning and before I knew it, it was dinnertime. Lots accomplished. Have a wonderful rest of the week and be thankful.

1. Thankful for easy dinner foods, order Chinese take out.

2. Thankful for Leo.

3. Thankful for the pups.

4. Thankful for Mister Kitty, he was feeling poorly two days ago spitting up nothing much and did not eat well. I followed him around like a hawk and watched over him. He took a nap and I laid down beside him so I could watch him breathe. He is his ornery ole self today.

Wordless Wednesday

Hard to be wordless today. This was just funny. Wordless Wednesday

I hope you laughed a little.
