Casey My Favorite Pup

It rained hard most of the day! Tink is still missing. My daughter's heart is breaking and I know exactly how she feels. Phil is a good man. He took flyer's we made and tacked them all over in the rain! While she worked. So many people are telling her they think Tink went off to die alone. I will never believe it! Those two were inseparable I think, in my heart, that someone picked her up. In fact, a woman Phil spoke with, said to him that if she found Tink she would keep her! Phil, said, really, even though she is chipped and she is so ill? The woman said yes I'd take good care of her. I always hated those chip implants. But if anyone took her to a vet for care they might find out that she really belongs to us. When J found Stella, lying in the middle of the road, beaten down by some cruel person, he called the authorities and a really cool cop told us, to get her chipped that way if the perp tried to get her back she would have our name! Losing a sick, old, confused, deaf and nearly blind dog is one thing, beating a sweet pup and then trying to retrieve her is disgusting!

When I lost my unborn daughter Rachel 23 years ago I had a little cockapoo named Casey. My sister Mary found him in Pueblo from a lady who was selling a litter of her dogs pups. My sis paid half the cost for our anniversary and Casey came to live with us . That little goofy dog never left my side. He was kind and very gentle to children but he was very wary of lots of adults and he could pick out an unscrupulous person in a minute! He never jumped up on the furniture and never would come on our bed but when my little baby died he never left my side He would put his paws on the side of the bed and he would look at me with his head cocked as if to say, "I love you and I really do understand your pain." He literally saved my life because I  fell into a funk and had a hard time getting out of it.

When I was pregnant with Hannah he was let out of the yard and we never saw him again. 19 years later I sill feel that someone picked him up and took him home and he never looked back! He had just been groomed two days earlier and he looked like a handsome dog when he was groomed! Tht little guy and I had a bond so strong I still feel it today.

My family appreciates your prayers for our Tink and I thank you for letting me share my story of Casey with you. He was named of course, for the great baseball legend! In these photos he is with my broken hearted girl. She loves her pets! One day I will tell you her story with Cocoa the hamster!

Happy Birthday Rachel

I was very sad with the loss of Tinkerbell and all but there was more. I was sad because today is the 23 year anniversary of the loss of my daughter Rachel Lee Robinson. I found her little memories tucked away in my drawer and I wanted to share a simple pray I was given.

A Prayer of Blessing For

Rachel Lee Robinson

God's blessings of peace rest upon you,
little one. You are a child of God, loved
and never to be forgotten. We remember
that you are being held in the palm of
God's hand just as we hold you in our hearts both and forever. Amen

Pink Saturday April 17th

Stop at Beverly's  Website: http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/to thank her for hosting these great Pink Saturdays! Then stop by and visit a new Pink if you are old hat at this! If you are new ,shop around, we all are getting to know each other and enjoying the wonderful ride!http://antiquemajik.blogspot.com/ Please stop by to see Georgina. She has some lovely pinks and she is joining us for the first time! Go over and say hello!

These pictures are not the greatest quality but the first one shows the pink marshmallows better then the second one! Just replace your plain marshmallows with strawberry flavored pink ones! The Rice Krispie treat recipe is still so simple and the kids still love it at any age except for our son J. He hates them! My daughter that lost her little dog held them for me in the second photo. She is so sad, she told me, losing my little dog is worse then having a brokenheart!  :(

On  a happier note, she stopped by work to drop off her boyfriend and her manager was there. He is the Middle Eastern jerk. She told him she was going to be sad at work all day this weekend and complain and he took her doggy flyer and said "Here, let me help you." He scanned more copies for her! No matter where men come from, they all learn to know better when it comes to women and their emotions!

Now I am going to try to present a few more pinks for your viewing pleasure!
Pretty pink and white petit fours!

Pretty pink tea!
Pretty pink gown!

Pink sweater for a cool pup!
Pink ice!
This is my Pink Saturday gift to you! I hope there was something here that you enjoyed!

A Heartfelt Thank You with Memories of Our Pets Who Have Left This Life

My sweet daughter is having such a difficult time with this loss of her little dog. If only we knew if she were safe. If only we could have her here. It has been two sad days around here and working in such a horribly unsteady environment has not helped me one bit!

So I pray. I know you pray. Prayer is a powerful thing. I think I will pray differently so that my trusting God will give us some peace about this situation.

Life is so cruel. My words don't come as easily since this little dog left. She is very frail and old and very confused. She is going blind and deaf and has had liver disease ravage her little body.

I want to say thank you. The animal control officers at three animal control agencies have been nice passing info back and forth. Everyone over here has been a Godsend! Without your love and support this would be unbearable.

I remember the day we lost Shadow our black lab. That crazy pup was always a runner! I think he had gypsy blood! If you opened a door, he was off! The night he got out when one of the kids had a friend over and she left the door opened my heart dropped to my toes! I knew instantly he was never coming back. He liked to frolic up by the water near Webster Lake. The law could never catch him he was fast! But not fast enough for the truck that hit him not two minutes from our house on a very busy street! He died instantly! I suppose that should have given us some comfort . But my silly ole cat Boots, he mourned for two solid weeks! He sat in the bedroom window and howled for all he was worth! One day I just could not stand it any more! I grabbed his face and pressed it against mine! I sternly looked him straight in the eyes and said calmly, "Boots, Shadow is never coming back, he is gone." He never mourned in that window again! That silly cat and goofy dog chased each other around our house like two brothers! They were both black and that was the end of their physical similarities. They grew up together and the cat would lay in wait for the dog to come bounding around the corner! He would jump on his back and they would tumble across the floor. I guess you would be sad too if you lost such a dear friend.
We lost that silly Shadow in July 1991. The winter had been tough, I lost my oldest sister Pat in February. Then September 11th happened. Then my mom passed away in November. Life was not great! But people fill those holes in your life.
When Shadow died my boss at the insurance co. could not look me in the eye. She raised show dogs, the gorgeous Great Danes! Instead she left on my desk a sympathy card with a beautiful heartfelt note and a box of tea cookies and a tin of tea! People can be so kind.

One month later I dreamed about Shadow. I dreamed I saw him running on a beautiful open field full of flowers. He ran to the edge of a huge crystal clear lake and dove in! He swam out into the middle of that lake and shot straight up from the water, shook the water off his back looked directly at me and whispered, "You are going to be alright". I am not sure if God had given me a sign because you know me and God have a long history together. I say "Listen God, I don't want to be disrespectful but I need your help. I need a sign." God never lets me down and I often think of that dream and wonder. Perhaps God just wanted me to find some comfort so he let me have that dream. It was odd because my daughter Rebekah alias Tillie and I tend to be quite loud! Oh heck, why tell you a fib now, we all are loud! It is the Slovenian/Irish blood in all of us!  But we were being loud and very silly one evening and we were home alone with Shadow. He looked at us and together ,we will go to our respective graves, believe that dog told us to "Be quiet"! The rest of our family still teases us but we heard him. We would not tell you a lie!

I am tired, I am frustrated and I am going to crawl into my bed and cry some more. But before I do I will share a picture of Shadow with you. He is one of the many pets we had that my sweet little college girl cradled like she was their mother. She would lay in the dog kennel with this dog and rub his ear while sucking her thumb as a small child and sing all at the same time. She would make up songs to sing or she would sing "He's Got The Whole World in His Hands" or "Mockingbird". Here she is with Shadow. This was their "Cha Cha Cha" picture!
Tomorrow I will tell you about Casey and then I will tell you Spat's story.
Let me sign off by saying you are all well loved over here and don't forget to say your prayers!
