Derby Hat Time For Pink Saturday/Love is.../Blue Monday

This is my new Kentucky Derby hat. I love the straw hat with the pretty peach flower adorning it. I have to have a new hat and I am thinking about hosting a wonderful tea party. I love hats and I think our world needs more of them. So I decided to share some today for Pink Saturday with Beverly.

I am a polka dot person so I am loving this pink hat dotted with black polka dots. Pretty!

A fascinator may be your style. You have to be pretty bold to carry this hat! You only live once so enjoy it!

This is my next hat purchase. I love the detail and all the pretty flowers and ribbon. This is perfect to display too.

I am late because my husband's brother is back with us and we have been busy setting up a temporary bed on the downstairs sofa until Jeremy moves to the new home in two weeks. I am unsure if I am coming or going. But helping a former Veteran is not a chore so we have been busy.

There is a button I have seen at Face Book that something like "I'm too lazy to fold laundry so I just turn the dryer back on". I did something similar. I hung some blankets out on my clothesline that the dogs use. The wind started to pick up but I left them overnight. They are still enjoying the sunshine and I will head out there shortly to pick them up. we all have our moments. This Love is...is so cute. My hubby is going to be catching himself coming and going ! There is another phase to the office remodel and move so he will be working extra hours April 30 and May 1. So I do not expect too much from him when he is so busy at work. But other days we do hang some laundry out and this Wednesday the is off for the entire day and I am excited to spend it with him. I love the smell of fresh laundry on the line. Tomorrow I will wash our sheets. They are the very best when you bring them in from the sunshine. Sigh....

Since my Kentucky derby hat theme is here I thought I'd share a couple blues with Sally and the Blue Crew. This one is very demure and sweet and this next one has that Wow factor!

Fences/Alphabe Thursday/Leo/Everyday Living

I love these homes on acreage near a huge shopping center. I am sure at one time there was more homes with farms than there are today. A sad fact in America. But I always enjoy looking at the fences. Visit TexWisGirl and share some fences today.

Lots of colorful umbrellas to share with you at Ms. Jenny's for the letter "U" this week. we have had some cooler temps and possible rain mixed with snow.You might need an umbrella here or your heavy winter coat, we just never know! Colorado is colorful and unpredictable when it comes to our weather.

My daughter Hannah wants Leo to come live with us. He is a 19 month old mixed breed, shepherd and Mastiff. Those are scary words! Because the Mastiff is such a large breed. My kids always know someone who has a dog or cat but no one to help them because they live in a place where no pets are allowed or only one in the case of Leo. He is staying with a co worker of Hannah's while she searches for the perfect home for him. What do you think? He is well mannered and all that good stuff so we will see what happens.

My grandson Colton and I had lunch today with his mom, my daughter Noelle and my middle daughter Rebekah. We had quite  fun afternoon. We ate at Cinzzetti's which is an Italian buffet style eatery. The food was great and we had good conversations. Makes everyday living more fun!

We had a beautiful Easter service at church today and then we had an early lunch with Zach and Rebekah at Jose O'Shea's! I felt guilty for about two minutes for not cooking a big meal at home and then I made these Easter cupcakes! They are sprinkled with colorful springtime sprinkles and you will see some blue in there too.

I had to get into the baseball swing of things with my Jeter shirt. You know the NY Yankees wear white/gray and blue! I am hoping you will visit Sally and the Blue Crew to show off your blues!

Hee Hee! Anyone who knows me well will say they have heard this before, I was raised by two wonderful parents and my father loved music. He had everything from the opera singer Caruso to the country western sound of Jim Reeves. Denver has a beautiful Opera House as well as Central City but Santa Fe, New Mexico also has a wonderful opera house with a wide range of opera to listen to! When I was younger I worked with a couple ladies that planned their vacations around the Santa Fe Opera day opening and they spent a week there watching and listening to opera while enjoying the sights of Santa Fe. One of these days I am going to go to Santa Fe to the opera and I think my hubby will like it! Here is a fun Santa Fe fact: Did you know that not only is Santa Fe the state capital of New Mexico it is the highest at 7,000 feet above sea level? I live where it is a mile high!

Tea Tyme Equals the Letter "T"

Some of my Vintage Garden Princess House collection. I loved all their pretty tea things....sad they went the way of Pampered Chef and lost their real identity which was their pattern Princess Heritage on hand blown crystal pieces....a lost art today!

I was so excited when I received my gift. This tote bag is getting to church every Sunday with me these days. It is perfect to hold my bible and note book and pen. I think it is really special.

Here is part of the goody bag that Theresa shared with me. It is so bright and cheerful. I love it because I love the cherry color of yellow too.

I like to journal and this will be great to start a new chapter in my journey we call life.

I love the tea lites wrapped so pretty in netting and I am encouraged by these words on the little easel. I am grateful for each day God gives me and I truly thank Him for all my needs.

Easter Beaded Eggs: Pink Saturday/Blue Monday/Love is...

Rebekah and I made these beaded eggs yesterday. That purple one was an act of love. Until I got into the groove, it took me forever to get into the swing of it! They came out so pretty and wanted to share them for Pink Saturday.  They look very pretty and I am glad we spent five hours working on these because we have two baskets filled with them!

Some of the beaded eggs that are blue have a purple hue to them and some of the purple beads look blue! But they look cute in their egg cups and ready for the Easter Day festivities! My middle daughter and I enjoyed making these eggs together. Please join Sally and the other Blue Crew participates so you can check out all the blue colors today.

Love is....always has my heart. This one is very much like we are. Always finding ways to help out and putting a few extra dollars in our pockets too!. We recycle aluminum cans. We also fill our recycle can every other Tuesday for the Trash Man to haul away. You will be surprised what you can recycle and make your trash day load lighter. I also save change and have started that 52 week challenge where you save money each week. We have a vacation planned later this summer and it is always nice to have a little extra tucked away for something fun. I have started to save the 52 Week Challenge for our Christmas Club too. When the kids were small it was nice to have enough money saved to not only buy a few gifts for each child but also to have a nice Christmas dinner. You can do this challenge two ways: you can start saving $1 the first week, $2 the second week and and so on until you save $52 the 52 week, or you can save $52 the first week, $51 the second, $50 the 3rd etc. The idea is that you will have $1,378 by the end of 52 weeks! There is a chart out there that shows the figures but I could not get it to print here! Anyway, if you try it, you will have extra cash for whatever you want after the 52 weeks are up.

Good Fences

When we go to Famous Dave's for some barbeque we pass these lovely homes sitting on acreage. I love seeing horses and other signs of farm living. I hate seeing all these properties turn into subdivisions. This fence is sharing their space with some small trees.

I love a white picket fence and here is one just one block from my own home. Quaint and simple. Feels so homey too.
TexWisGirl  is our hostess here .  I am amazed at the beautiful photos everyone else shares. But I enjoy looking for fences and am always on the lookout! Stop by and say hi and enjoy a lovely Thursday!

SAVING MEMORIES

I hope you will visit our wonderful teacher Ms. Jenny and share something sassy, silly, sorrowful or filled with sentiment!

I was sorting photos today. I found this one from 2006. My sweet hubby looks so youthhful with his oldest daughter Noelle. I am a sentimental person. She has the best smile.

My mom was smiling from ear to ear while holding Jeremy when he was just a tiny baby. He will turn 30 this year. Where has time gone?

We are always smiling because we have such a special relationship. If you can laugh in the face of your troubles you will always be a survivor.

My father-in-law Carl was a kind heart. He treated me like a daughter and I always loved that he supported me. He is admiring Rebekah, who turns 27 this year!

Hannah was enjoying spending her sisters birthday with Tweety Bird! She was a quiet child, not so much these days! A young woman who speaks her mind! She said no one likes you when you're 23 so at 24 I am sure she will have some fans! Wink Wink!

Nick was a serious baby. He has certainly outgrown that these days! He is running a half marathon this week. He will turn 22 this August and always makes us proud.

Always  make time for those children. They need you more than they need things.

Even Scripture promotes children. No matter where they go in life as long as they have had a proper upbringing and good role models than we always come back full circle.
