XOXO = Hugs and Kisses

Today is the day! It is very bittersweet for me and I  am sharing my "X" post for Ms. Jenny and the gang at Alphabe Thursday! Today is the day our oldest son Jeremy moves from his childhood memories and siblings and parents and moves into a brand new chapter in his life, home ownership! We are excited for him and Brittany to say the very least! It will be a new experience for him as Brittany has a seven year old daughter Addy and they will be a sweet little phamily! It is hard to let go but he deserves this. He has worked hard on getting his education, finding a job with wonderful benefits and he has had a few promotions already too! He is one of those kind hearts. He is the person who would have reached out to you at school if you were looking sad, lonely or lost! It is just his nature.
This is the little boy who grew up to be an incredibly handsome and beautiful young man. He has met the love of his life and she too, is a serious Denver Bronco fan!
They are very good for each other and I know they will have a wonderful journey together.

I am clearing out Nick's things in the nightstand and chest of drawers that were too large for our bedroom when we bought our new bedroom set five years ago! It is really good quality furniture so Jeremy is taking it to his new place. Nick will have all this new furniture because Jeremy helped us by paying for the chest of drawers and nightstand. It was a very good trade!
While Jeremy and Brittany set up their first home, we will be painting and getting our own home in order. We have had many  blessings and for that I am truly grateful.
We will all be happy at our home sweet home!
When Noelle and Roger bought their first home, her friend Mary from Ireland gave her a similar plaque like this one. I want to find one for Jeremy and Brittany. I am sad Ms. Jenny has been suffering with so much pain. She paints the best signs! Sigh!

xoxo (abbreviation) : an abbreviation for hugs and kisses
I was sorry for what I did yesterday. I gave my girlfriend xoxo

I wanted to share that I truly did find this in the Merriam-Webster dictionary on line and thought Hugs and Kisses would be so appropriate for Jeremy, Brittany and Addy today!

I hope you visit Ms. Jenny and Mr. Steve to say hello and join Alphabe Thursday today.

Spiritual Sunday/Love is.../Blue Monday/Aww...Monday

I have been away from Charlotte and the wonderful people who participate in Spiritual Sunday for a long while. I really need to plan my posts better to stay organized because there are so many wonderful people who post daily with other great folks! So I am here and wanting to share some thoughts today:

Yesterday at church our Pastor Chad talked about how people that have success work on it daily. He showed a film clip from an NFL game this past season. Odell Beckham Jr. who is a wide  receiver for the New York Giants had the absolutely most amazing catch anyone in NFL history has ever seen! We were watching the game and we were blown away that he caught that ball with the three fingers on his right hand and stayed inside the bounds! The pastor said we often ask God why is so and so have great success?  Why can't I be a success? Then he showed film clips of Odell practicing that very catch, over and over, hundreds of times in a single practice! He compared that NFL awesomeness to our own lives and how we should never stop studying the Word of God! I left church with such a good feeling, which I usually do, but yesterday was different. I was noticing the various members of our church band. The young woman who gracefully slices  her fingers across the strings of her violin. The the young men playing various type of guitars. The gentleman on the keyboards! They all had looks on their faces filled with such holiness, such passion for Jesus, it really made me smile and feel God's presence even more.

I am trying to read something from my bible each day and I flipped my bible open to the 119th Psalm. It is quite lengthy and I am stopping at different verses and making notes and filling my soul with God's goodness and nourishment. I hope you stop by Spiritual Sunday and visit with Charlotte and others who offer encouragement, humor and poems and other spiritually filling delights today.
I love domestic bliss but this week I will be on my own for the most part. The hubby has overtime starting tomorrow so I headed out to the grocery store in this wet, dreary weather to stock up so he can pack a nice healthy lunch this week. We usually shop together and I enjoy that but since I have been out of work, I do a lot of this stuff alone. It is just not as much fun! If you visit me frequently, you know I love Love is...I use to share this meme with other ladies but they all started doing different things. Lots of them are at Face Book and I prefer the more intimate setting here. Facebook gets too controversial for me and I leave the big stuff to God! I like to use FB for phamily and friends and I post lots of phamily photo over there too for my friends and phamily to see!

I hope you visit Sally and the Blue Crew today. I hope they notice all the blues I am sharing here including these google images that are beautifully detailed in blue.
Rose belongs to Nick. She is a Chicken Rangler! She will steal your chicken right from under your nose. She has taken entire boxes of chicken dinners, left the sides and demolished the chicken without leaving a trace except for bits of chicken telltale on her breathe as well as her whiskers. This has been going on since she was a kitten and this girl is 10 years old these days! We can not figure out where she is hiding those bones! So in honor of Sandee and all the participates of Aw...Monday here is Rose in all her green eyed glory! She is a real beauty and we love having her here with us.

We try not to indulge in this sinful fried ice cream but once and a while we can not resist. You can see some blue on the table at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. We are suppose to warm up to the 80s by Thursday but this cold, rainy weather is making me want hot tea so I am off to have a cup. Enjoy your day!

Pink Saturday

When our middle daughter was born in 1988 my favorite Aunt Ang made this quilt for her. AT the time she did not know if it would be a boy or a girl so she made a Sunbonnet Sue kinda quilt! My heart breaks because it is worn and ragged and I would love to be able to recreate this but I am clueless when it comes to quilting. The recipient of this quilt has quilting on her bucket list. She is a smart young lady turning 27 this year and perhaps will be able to recreate this for her own children. My aunt suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and yet she created so many beautiful hand crafted treasures for us. I miss her so much. She was a true blessing in my life.

Had to share this quote for Beverly and the Pinkies today. Enjoy a beautiful Friday!

Good Fences and Alphabe Thursday "W"

This is a lovely home near mine and their tall white picket fence loves lovely against their perfectly manicured yard.

Please, no parking in front of this fence and gate!
This neighborhood owner wants total privacy with a high wall added to his fence! The problem with this, you are such an easy target to be burglarized! Years ago we had an elderly couple for a back fence neighbor. He put up a 7 foot retaining wall made out of concrete blocks. He disliked our puppies who probably yapped at the squirrels when they were outside. He also disliked neighbor Rich who drank a lot and loved to visit with neighbors, but Rich is the one who called 9-1-1 when another neighbors home was firebombed! One day Karl and his wife were gone, broad daylight, and the police came to the door questioning neighbors if we saw anything. I took the officer in my backyard. He chuckled, that wall was soundproof! The burglars cleaned out their home. I guess the neighbors on the front did not like Karl and his wife either! Please visit TexWisGirl and as many participates as possible please! Thanks to all who faithfully comment. Your thoughts are very much appreciated!

I Keep Six Honest... - Poem by Rudyard Kipling

I keep six honest serving-men
(They taught me all I knew);
Their names are What and Why and When
And How and Where and Who.
I send them over land and sea,
I send them east and west;
But after they have worked for me,
I give them all a rest.

I let them rest from nine till five,
For I am busy then,
As well as breakfast, lunch, and tea,
For they are hungry men.
But different folk have different views;
I know a person small-
She keeps ten million serving-men,
Who get no rest at all!

She sends'em abroad on her own affairs,
From the second she opens her eyes-
One million Hows, two million Wheres,
And seven million Whys!

This poem is a phamily favorite! Great for graduations! So in honor of the letter "W" and Ms. Jenny and all the participates of Alphabe Thursday this is my What and Why and When and How and Where and Who post~

Enjoy and please visit as many participates as you can. Thank you

Blue Monday/Love is.../Aw....Monday

I have always wanted to own some Tony Lama cowboy boots for women. They are so beautifully crafted and cost a lot of money. Maybe someday...
Even Tony Lama's come in pretty shades of blue.
The detail is incredible.
You can even get your work done wearing these! Do you love that blue interior? Sigh....
So many colors and styles to choose. Maybe one day....Please visit Sally and the Blue Crew.
Today I am the Domestic Godess! I made a dish of cheese ravioli with Italian sausage and marinara sauce. Too tired to eat any of it yet!

Joining Sandee and  Mike for Aw...Monday. This is Trek. He is my daughter Noelle's dog. He suffers from severe seizure disorder but when he wants to have fun, he will have fun! This was a few years ago, romping in the snow. Please visit everyone today and enjoy your week. Thanks for stopping by.

Hiking Trails for Good Fences/Victory for the Hike/Pink Saturday

Today we have snow and rain, yesterday was a beautiful Spring day for a hike! Look at this fence. It looks like too many decided to rest on the posts! My middle daughter Rebekah took me to  Chautauqua Park yesterday for a hike. It is located in the city of Boulder, Colorado. I will share my photos here and hope you will stop by TexWisGirl and share your Good Fences too.
The hike covered about 0.7 miles of trail for the easiest climb. After twenty minutes of burning lungs and jelly like legs, I regained my stamina and continued the trail with Rebekah. The high altitude (5430) takes a few minutes to adjust to even if you have lived here your entire life like I have! A simple view of the city of Boulder. It was a bit overcast and than the sun came shining through.
Those of you who know me also know our youngest son Nick is a college runner. He has been running since he was in the fifth grade and today he is a college junior. He is my inspiration to run, walk and hike! These words are from my pinterest board on Running. I am not a quitter so getting through that first twenty minutes of climbing the trail were tough. But I was victorious and glad I did it! You may stop by Ms. Jenny's and share a favorite "V" post too!
Another pinterest share, but climbing that trail which was rocky at some points was easier as we progressed up the hill! I thought about this when I was struggling, should I give up? Never! It's a hill, get over it!
From the bottom of the trail it appears that it is only a winding, somewhat rocky trail. But the climb is what makes you want to succeed. Yesterday was a glorious day.

There is nothing like looking up to see magnificent views of the top of those trails! There are several for easy, moderate and difficult climbs. People of all ages are busily climbing those trails.
Rebekah enjoyed hiking with me and we had fun as well as some lighthearted moments. See the fence behind her?
I loved the feeling I had climbing that trail. The views are beautiful and it is good for your heart!
We saw this tree lying down on the side of our trail. Often lightening strikes and can split a tree. Other times bug infestations destroy them .
Look at these rock formations that dot the scenery up there. They are just gorgeous to look at.
We saw a lot of cactus on this trail. The natural setting is beautiful in its own way.

This spider web was so eery. Those wormy black critters were creepy, reminded me of Halloween. I am usually in awe of a spider's web. It is magnificently engineered and I beleieve God is behind the  making of such an intelligent creature.
A guide of the trails and the choices you can make up there.
There is an area where people stop to create your own rock images. Some of them look like images of people. We enjoyed surveying them.
Lots of creative rock people.
My rock art was very simple.
Rebekah is a bit more artistic than I am.
She enjoyed finding flat rocks to add to her creation.
We saw this gentleman with several dogs near the rest area. He had two beautiful standard poodles off the leash as well as a golden retriever and another dog who looked sweet but possibly a mixed breed.

As we descended the trail we took a hiking selfie!
There are beautiful homes on the bottom of the trail and I am sure they are quite expensive to live in. These red and gold tulips are probably sad today after the snowfall. I thought the Pinkies at Beverly's Pink Saturday would enjoy seeing them as well as these beautiful pink trees:
I hope you will visit Theresa, Jenny and Beverly and if you participate please stop by and leave comments. I must admit, the people at Theresa's meme are super and they visit everyone and leave comments! I think it is a nice courtesy to extend too all the bloggers and not just a handful of  favorite friends!
Pink skies at sunset's end at the Margaret Carpenter Open Spaces in Thornton, Colorado.

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by.
