Love is....

Love is....Babies on a Blue Monday

Yesterday when  trying to post my Love is....it would not work! The images would not post and nothing seemed to go right! Tonight as I tried to remain calm after "baby drama" scares I went blog hopping only to find that the comment section would kick me out and then log off my own blog! Blogger learn to play nice! Please!

To participate late with Sally I want to share this astronomy photo I found on a  news site that shares  some of my Love is...on. Years ago, Love is.. was published in the daily newspaper. Most folks get their news on line. I like the old fashioned newspaper! I will talk about that later!
I just thought this pretty blue filled space was gorgeous and had to be shared. Visit Sally as she is our leader for the Blue Monday post and she is recovering nicely from a tough time with her health. Thanks Sally! You are a real gem!

This Love is.. is so appropriate for my phamily this week! I thought this fit the bill perfectly. So I want to dedicate this little post to Mia Rose the daughter of my nephw Josh and his wife Kathryn in Chicago. I previously posted about them and Kathryn was hospitalized Thursday evening and this little miss made her debut yesterday! It was a wild ride cause this girl was being stubborn! She was not interested in making her debut any time soon! Glad to report she is healthy and happy and weighed 8 lbs.! She is gorgeous. She is a 9-11 baby and her grandpa in NYC is a retired NYPD officer!
Jayden Alexander is the first born son of Andrew and Tarrah. Andrew is my grandson. Jayden weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and he was 22 inches long! They had a scare because they lost his heartbeat and did an emergency C-section. But currently mom and baby are fine.
I am very blessed. My phamily is growing and I think a new baby is a wonderful example of God's love. I will get some photos up soon.

Love is...

I think today true love is rare. I see so many people running about thinking all sorts of crazy thoughts. They refuse to make a commitment and then end up hurt and alone. It is always better to love and lose that love than to never know love at all 
I am old school all the way. I like being with one person who makes me laugh and can ruffle my feathers too! I like the common thread we share. The phamily bond. I like knowing what I get each day. A daily dose of fun and laughter along with the headaches and some time heartaches of life. I like sharing all of that with one special person.
I bought some Princess House items from someone I did not know but my friend knew. It was fun opening that box and sorting everything out. My Sweets was there helping me load everything into our dishwasher and than helping me arrangement it on my display shelf and tuck the rest away in our cupboards. He is good like that.
He is the one person that knows that look of sheer terror in my eyes when I am going to be slapped down by a pounding migraine. He is the guy who held my hand when my father was ill. He is the one who walked into the school to get our oldest daughter out of her third grade class so we could  travel to my dad's funeral. He is the rare fellow that washed my half shaved head and shaved my legs when I lay in a hospital for three weeks recovering from a first, second and third neurosurgery. Did I mention we were newlyweds the first time around that neurosurgery business?
He delivered our youngest daughter Hannah, not by choice but because I was a crazed banshee screaming like a wild woman while he gently helped me bring that girl into this world.
He is the man I walked out the front door to meet so I could tell him his father passed away. We have lost so many material things in this world and yet we never lost sight of each other or the fact that we would remain together and see this life through thick and thin!
He gave me my very first bible, a New American Standard bible that I still own although it is delicately held together by a few threads of the binding!
He is calm and collected, I am a raving madwoman . When it comes to our kids and any problems at school, he is diplomatic, I am protective and brazen!
He is the man who borrowed a co workers car to come rescue me on the side of the highway when our old mini van broke down years ago.
He runs like the wind. I walk like mad to catch him. He is technical, I like to have fun!
He knows the bible inside out. I am still learning. He understand the bible in the original form, Greek! I tell him "Honey, that is still Greek to me!!"
Many years ago when Donald Trump and his first wife Ivana divorced a friend wrote about them in a womens magazine. She said they had the perfect marriage, all the money in the world and yet so much unhappiness. She could not understand why. I can. They put their trust in things. They never knew rare love. They never shared pain. They never lost an unborn child or had a bank take their home away.
I know rare love and I am honored to share that love with a man who has made me laugh and cry for twenty seven years come May 3rd 2011.
I have to share this photo with you. It is my favorite t shirt currently and I have the coffee mug and all the little things that go with it. I love my Sweets and he loves me and this is why our marriage works:

 This the the house rule. I can make anyone's life miserable if they don't keep mama happy! They know. It works!

LOVE IS...

I think this is a precious Love is... I think love can be puzzling and confusing and sometime hard to understand. The longer I am married the more I understand love but early on in a marriage you can feel like you are in a maze. There are so many things to learn and sharing with someone can sometime make you feel like you are losing your space or identity.  I just wanted to share this today with Marydon and Sherry and Tete. YOU'VE GOT MAIL!

I love heading to work and seeing an e mail pop up from my Sweets! I am pretty strict about using my personal e mail for personal business but I have to use it for work too and often check e mails from our billing gal Teresa. If I see my Sweets sent me an e mail I often take a quick peek. He sends me some silly stuff. He also says silly things. As we were rising this morning I said, "Gee I hope that darn dishwasher is nearly done!". I started it at 5:00 A.M.! He said "Perhaps a monkey is inside cleaning the dishes one at a time!"  This is the sense of humor I deal with daily. I have been thinking about that monkey all day long!

LOVE IS...

There is something about silliness that just makes me smile! My Sweets is the silliest guy! He can make the weirdest jokes and The Middle and her sister The Who girl get him! The rest of us, not so much! But he can get plenty silly with mr and we spend a lot of time laughing. It is good medicine and keeps us sane in this wild world.

LOVE IS... LIVING FOR EACH OTHER!

I am so late posting! I am late posting Love is... and my Spiritual Sunday posts as well as today's Tuesday Show and Tail! It is all bloggers fault! The crazy site would not allow me to post any pictures including my own! Drat! Drat! Double Drat! So I am posting my Love is...first. This is my Sweets and I. Living for each other. We do most everything together. I have a breakfast get together with my girlfriends from our days working at the hospital together. They are the tight knit bond that I love and cherish. We know each other and have been through thick and thin together. So I do have a life without  Sweets but I like to spend a lot of time with him. Often we do not answer our phone at night and we spend time just being together. I really like it. We recently bought new shoes for running and walking together. We also are getting our basement organized so we can work out there together. I hope you like the Love is... although it is late. Here is my Love is...contribution today. I watch the moon because when it is full we get so many grumpy, crabby and unpleasant folks passing through the medical specialty office where I work! So here is a moon I enjoy seeing. Even as a kid I thought about this moon in reference to a cookie! There are some awesome crescent shaped cookies that are dipped in powdered sugar! Ah...my Sweets and I like to watch the moon rise and the sun set. It makes you secure your faith in God because nothing could be bigger or better or smarter than Our Awesome Creator! This is Sweets and me. Always reading together. I am rushing out the door. A bad weekend with some viral crude evidently. I had to wait for the guys to deliver my new dryer. I just think this sweet Passport Love is...very precious. Tonight, with an icy, snow storm brewing and temps dipping below zero in the double digits we are snuggled in tight. Our electric blanket is working overtime with this maddening cold weather so dreaming aobut traveling with my Sweets is a beautiful thing. SOmewhere warm and tropical...ah....

I am late posting all my posts this week. It has been a trying week and it is also hard getting back into the swing of things after the situation with my brother-in-law. But this Love is...says it all and that is all I am saying today.

I have always felt like this about my Sweets. When we were younger and the kids were small we spent

Sunday mornings cooking a big breakfast and dancing with them. I still love to dance and sometime we have to stop and ad-lib. It is always so much fun and wonderful to be young at heart! I am posting with Marydon and Sherry and wish you would come over and join us with these fun Love is...posts.

This is a sweet reminder of my early marriage days. We left little love notes everywhere and sent each other cards in the mail. I hope you will come join Marydon and Sherry and I for this Monday fun meme. The shy artist Kim Grove use to leave little notes for her future hubby Roberto Casali and he kept every single one of them but he thought there was something more too them. He showed them to a person in the syndication business who agreed that they should be  made public and that is how the Love is...phenomenon was born.
I shared this with you today because in the store earlier today I told Sweets to make sure he sent me a Valentine. Our local King Soopers grocery store has a mail box in each front range store and they collect your addressed and stamped Valentine's and then they are mailed from Loveland, Colorado. Each year thousands of folks send their Valentine's to Loveland so they will have the special postmark. They have volunteers who hand stamp these Valentine's and there is always a special poem on the stamped cards. Send your cards too. They are www.withlovefromloveland.com/.

This is Sweets and I. Not a huge amount of snow for the New Year but enough frigid temps to keep you safely inside. I pray for all those who have no home,no where to go. I just heard a news report that in Denver all the shelters are booked to capacity. Let's all pray that everyone can come in from the cold and stay safe and warm.
I hope each one of you are enjoying the New Year and settling in from the Christmas holidays. Let's all join together in this new year and pray for the homeless, the unloved and the millions of displaced Americans.
I hope you will come to join us in this new year with Love is...it is such a sweet and simple reminder that love is the ultimate gift.

LOVE IS....

Love is....a soft touch! After a wonderful phamily holiday filled with wonderful memories, great food and good company Sweets and I just want to retire to our comfy bed and read! We enjoy this quiet evening time sometime just reading side by side. I am currently reading Jan Karon's latest novel "In the Company of Others". She is a favorite author and I have read all of her books! He is figuring the bills for the New Year with our first house payment due in about 14 days!

CELEBRATING WITH MEMORIES

I am posting my Love Is...today It is special because I just had a birthday (December 3rd) and I love to eat cake with my "Sweets". I thought this little comic by Kim Casali is sweet as can be!

I started to write this post and than I had another idea! I was searching the web for recipes, Baked Alaska or Alaska Bombe. I guess I had been thinking of my brother-in-law, who is staying with us temporarily and heading to the most remote corner of Alaska near the Russian border. It made me start thinking of my mom and the wonderful dessert she use to concoct, Baked Alaska! I remember she used neopolitan ice cream and made the most fabulous dessert. As a kid it was the most amazing thing ever. For a grown up version you can make Alaska Bombe and pour some heated brandy over it all and light it like a firey celebration. Go to  Allrecipes for some tasty recipes. With the Christmas season quickly approaching I wanted to share this special memory with you. I am showing you another internet image so you can see this lovely dessert. Maybe you will concoct one for the Christmas dinner dessert.
