WELCOME

Here is Stella to welcoming you to our home! She was a sweet lost soul when Jeremy found her in October 2008. Someone dumped her, no tags, no micro chip, nothing. Even the police told us to get her chipped and if someone came looking for her to say this was our dog and we had her chipped! She was badly beaten and her right eye shows some signs of the abuse still. It is now after a few years that she is comfortable with all of us. She rarely leaves Smokey side as he is the protector of her. He is always looking over his shoulder to make sure Stella is safe. She is a greedy little girl. She likes to push the others out of the way when it comes to treat time. She is a snapper too. You have to warn her a few times not to snap and be gentle. The others all understand that simple command. We think someone taunted her and kept her in her kennel her for days and weeks on end! She is very docile most times but often you can see the signs of abuse in simple daily fare.
We have felt very blessed to have Stella. She will lie next to you on the bed and as long as you stay close she is fine. She becomes very calm and easy going. She has some difficulty making friends with other dogs. In fact the barkers next door run along the fence and she stops and does her bathroom business so she makes sure they see! They usually run away! It is very funny.
I hope you visit Angela and join this fun Tuesday fare, Tuesday Show and Tails.http://wvtreasures.blogspot.com/. This is a fun fare!

Love is...

I hope you will join Marydon and Sherry and myself with this weekly Love is...
I just think this sweet Passport Love is...very precious. Tonight, with an icy, snow storm brewing and temps dipping below zero in the double digits we are snuggled in tight. Our electric blanket is working overtime with this maddening cold weather so dreaming aobut traveling with my Sweets is a beautiful thing. SOmewhere warm and tropical...ah....

Romans 3:23

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

This is a verse I like to run through my mind alot.  There is no man or woman on this earth that can be greater than God. It is something I find much peace in particularly when I look around the world and see the condition of it.

But I also know how much love the Lord has for each one of us. Keep that in mind next time you have a difficulty in your life. My Sweets put his older brother on an airplane to Montana this morning. It was a difficult time for us but I had to keep reminding myself of this verse. Not one of us is greater than God and we all fall short of His glory.

I hope you will stop by Charlotte and Ginger and wish them well for hosting this weekly encouraging meme. Blessings to everyone and I hope your week will be wonderful.

"P" IS FOR PLAYTIME!

I was planning to write a post about my Barbie Dream House that my Sweets is going to help me build. Then I got an idea, why not incorporate it into my Alphabe Thursday P post! Perfect, huh? Pretty good idea! I love my Barbie's and I own a lot of furniture that Barbie, Ken and the gang lounge around on! I love decorating and I am not good at those tiny miniature houses you can build with teeny tiny furniture but I love Barbie and refuse to pay several hundred dollars for a silly house that is primarily made out of paper products! Hey, this P post is going to be pretty fun! As a child I had the original 1962 model. Shhh...don't tell anyone my age! LOL! Through the years of marriage and kids I never could save enough money to buy a super cool Barbie house. So I found a six shelf bookcase that will make a fancy house! With his trusty jigsaw Sweets can cut windows and doors for me and I can have a super cool Barbie home! Ah....

I have two full bedrooms for my Mattel gang. I have three bathrooms, two kitchens, a beauty salon, a rec room and piano/tea room. I have an office. A nursery and many more fun rooms. So I am going to create a perfect Barbie paradise!

Now that I have laid out my floor plans for you I will keep you posted and you can visit Jenny and tell her that I posted a perfectly pretty post! In fact visit as many of the Alphabe Thursday participates that you can! I am always amazed at all the different posts everyone comes up with!
I am also linking to Beverly for Pink Saturday. Go visit some pinkies and enjoy the weekend!

A VALENTINE'S DAY MAILING REMINDER

I wanted to remind everyone that you can remail your Valentine card(s) from many locations. I live in Colorado so normally I use Loveland, Colorado and their remailing postal offer. The local King Soopers/Kroger grocery stores usually have mailing stations at their stores. Unless I am super early it is getting close to February 1st so...I noticed they did not have their stations set up so I sent my Valentine via the US mail in another envelope. The postage was extra but my Sweets will get his Valentine post marked Valentine, Texas. He sent mine through Loveland, Colorado. I am giving you the list I have complied where you can send your Valentine's. There may be a USPS near you listed here.
Valentine, Nebraska 69201
Valentine, Texas 79854
Romance, Arkansas 72136
Loving, New Mexico 88256
Bridal Veil, Oregon 97010
Kissimmee, Florida 32741
Romeo, Michigan 48065
Juliette, Georgia 31046
I can give you more of a background on Loveland. Since 1947 they have participated in the popular Loveland Valentine Postmark Re-mailing program. With the help of senior citizens, the Loveland Post Office remails valentines each year with a unique love postmark.
Besides the LOVELAND postmark, each envelope and postcard is stamped with a LOVELAND postmark and a special Loveland souvenir cachet or art design, and love verse. Each year the community and Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual contest to select the special cachet and love verse.
Just enclose your pre-addressed and pre-stamped  Va;entine's card in a larger envelope and mail it to the address below. Remember to add extra stamps or postage for heavier or odd shaped and square valentines.

Postmaster
Valentine Re-mailing
446 E. 29th Street
Loveland, CO. 80538

Deadlines for re-mailing and delivery by Valentine's Day, February 14th:
Valentine cards/envelopes destined for re-mailing outside of the U.S. to other countries and international destinations should be in Loveland by February 4th.
Valentine cards/envelopes destined for re-mailing within the U.S. and outside of Colorado should be in Loveland by February 9th.
Valentines cards/envelopes destined for re-mailing within the state of Colorado should be in Loveland by February 12.
By the way, Loveland, Colorado has the biggest valentine re-mailing program in the world, but there are other towns/cities which have participate in special Valentine Postmarks. These other are listed above.

I also want to thank LV for helping give me this idea to post these USPS that offer remailing Valentine programs. She told me about Valentine, Texas. Thank you sweet LV. When I started researching this these are the cities I found.

Guide Dogs

If you go here you can read about guide dogs and how a wonderful service was started on the West coast back in 1947 to service military personnel returning from World war II without their sight. The dream of many volunteers came true and this guide dog school thrives today. Many magnificent animals who would otherwise be sent to animal control agencies and eventually be "put down" are often used to provide a wonderful service for many folks. I hope you will take a moment and visit this site and read in detail the wonderful service this agency provides. Then stop by Angela's and thank her for hosting this Tuesday meme.
I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Love is...

I am late posting all my posts this week. It has been a trying week and it is also hard getting back into the swing of things after the situation with my brother-in-law. But this Love is...says it all and that is all I am saying today.

Please join Marydon and Sherry  and myself with this Monday meme. Love to all of you.

4(A)I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers

I love this verse. The simplicity of it is just hard to ignore. I love praying and I always enjoy remembering this kind thoughtful verse.

Pray for someone today. Then join us at Spiritual Sunday. These wonderful ladies make such a wonderful addition to the blog world. I am very grateful to know  them and thank them for hosting this and I am grateful to know you all as well.

MIA

Hi! I have been struggling with computer and camera issues. Lots of it is due to stress! Fortunately my hubby, my Sweets, got his older brother out of our house and into rehab! It was amazing how he left him with bag in hand at the emergency room and the hospital quickly dumped him into a rehab center. It is 45 minutes from our house but he needs to get his act together. So pray for Mike.
Then I was sad about the playoffs. I am and always will be a Jay Cutler fan! But my older son is a Packers fan and I have to work for the doctor from Wisconsin so.....
But I was rooting for Mark Sanchz the cutie qb from the Jets! Ah...I won't so into my tirade about the Steelers qb! I am letting that one go!
Thanks Jenny for the tip! I am going to make a fuss with Dell!
I am very late posting my Love is.. and my Spiritual Sunday but check with me tonight so I can hopefully have them up with my Tuesday Show and Tail!
But good news, I had a wonderful and amazing breakfast. My sweet daughter Noelle. her dear hubby "Rogey Bear" and my grandson Colton had   a terrific breakfast Sunday at The Buff. I guess it was featured on one of the Food Network shows but their breakfast fare is terrific! I had a breakfast called the Saddlebags. I ordered mine with ham and the grand had sausage. My son-in-law is a steak n eggs kinda guy and the daughter had a yummy looking skillet. It is an old school restaurant near the CU Boulder campus. So the morning fare is reasonable and the mimosa's and bloody Mary's are amazing! For 99 cents a drink, limit three person, due to college kids, the restaurant is a great place to kick back. The wait is about thirty minutes but well worth it.
In phamily news wer found out this weekend that one of my nephews has a 17 year old daughter. He and his old girlfriend have a 19 year old son and they had a daughter together. They gave her up for adoption and we found out this weekend she wanted to know her phamily. Her name is Chelsea and I know my folks would have been tickled pink to have another great grand in the phamily. My folks had five kids. We had 20 kids between us. Those kids currently have 27 grands and one great grand on the way! Whew! My dad would have been so happy. They folks loved their phamily.
Let me wind this down and add my other posts later today. Love to all of you today and always! Hope your day is terrific!

Pink Party!

Hi Pinkies! I am having a rough week. Technologically speaking! My new cell phone is charging and it is a purple awesome dream! But my laptop which is 2 years old in May 2011 is going to need a new battery ($150) and a new shell ($60). I think it is absolutely awful that companies have such little pride in their work that they mass produce junk! So I am going to have to buy a new lap top and teach my youngest son a lesson  learning and finance.  If he wants a lap top he will have to save money from his paychecks to buy the parts needed for the laptop so he can use it.
But I did not want to write a sad post so I wanted to share a couple simple recipes for cool summery drinks! I know we are stuck in the dead of winter and where I live more snow is expected this evening into the weekend. But we can all dream can't we? So well I am cleaning up this mess from my laptop and removing all my files and photos I am using a google image or two to show you these cool drinks. I would never use any images that I would not credit the owner of the photo but this google image stuff is complicated and why does it end up on the image site if you can use it to make a point or show you a recipe in thsi case. Argh... So these are not my images but they give you an idea about what you can expect when you create this easy summer drinks.
The mosaic picture shows a dreamy creamy punch that is easy to make and works well for a bridal or baby shower! Just add a can of pink lemonade consentrate to a large punch bowl and use the ginger ale or sparkling water in place of the water. Add a liter bottle of ginger ale or sparkling water. Add a quart of raspberry sherbert. Simple and delicious. For simple lemonade punch just combine a can of pink lemonade and follow the directions on the can. Add some sliced citrus fruit, preferably lemons and you have a nice pitcher of cool lemonade . You can add ice for a frosty poolside treat!
Now winter won't seem so long or cold. Next stop by Beverly's and thank her for being a super cool hostess of the weekly meme Pink Saturday. Then visit spome pinkies. That is where I am headed now.

O is for Oh My Goodness!

I work for a doctor who was born and raised in the Midwest! He says things like "Holy Cow!" and since I have been working with him for nearly 8 years I started saying "Oh My Goodness". It is much better office fare than some awful words I learned from an ole cow poke of a CPA boss many years ago.

My parents were very humble people and I never learned any kind of inapppropriate language from them. I am often shocked listening to kids talk today. I would not be alive had I uttered such fowl language.

So today I am saying "Oh My Goodness, I am late for Alphabe Thursday! Please visit Jenny and tell her to go easy on me. I am having a tough week!

Oh My Goodness I need to rush out the door. Today is Nick's annual school eval. Wish us luck!

Meet Roxie with Google Images!

I wanted to introduce you to Roxanne or Roxie as we call her! She is the sweet little chihuahua that Hannah has adopted! This girl has her own outwear including a pink parka with faux fur trim and a lavender sweather with tassels. She also has a beige sweather with a pink houndstooth pattern and heart shaped rhinestone buttons! Her name tag is bright pink and lettered in white is her name and Hannah and Bonnie's phone numbers. Bonnie is Markus's mom. They share caring for little Roxie.
This little scamp jumps to the front of the line when it is treat time at the house! She scares poor Smokey and she and Stella snarl at each other. But Boots our cat and Bandit the rat terrier mainly ignore Roxie. Rose the other cat thinks Roxie is her sister and hangs out with her. It is quite amusing.
Since my pictures are stuck inside the camera I borrowed a  google image to give you an idea of Roxie. She is a little dynamo and we love her dearly.
Please come join the Tuesday Show and Tail Visit Angela and join this fun!

LOVE IS...

I have always felt like this about my Sweets. When we were younger and the kids were small we spent
Sunday mornings cooking a big breakfast and dancing with them. I still love to dance and sometime we have to stop and ad-lib. It is always so much fun and wonderful to be young at heart! I am posting with Marydon and Sherry and wish you would come over and join us with these fun Love is...posts.

MY HOUSE WILL BE A HOME SOON!

You know my blog picture?! The black and white photo of my sweet mother and her siblings? I have an 11 x 14 copy hanging in our bedroom next to my maternal grandparents wedding photo. I love those two together. I originally hung this photo of the siblings near my bedside and I was sad. I thought of my mother losing her dad and brother when she was the tender age of 13. A girl who loved her daddy and admired her older brother. Now that I have hung the two together they all look so happy.
My house is starting to look like a home. I need to get pictures posted but having trouble moving them from the new camera to the hard drive. Ah...
Stayed up way too late last night. Watching mindless T.V. Today we have a full patient schedule. I am going to get busy with my phone calls for tomorrow's even busier day. Grateful to be working. Grateful to have a job in this economy
Grateful to know all of you. Come visit more often. I need to do that too. Love visiting you. Everyone has so much to offer. I am very late posting my Love is... Watch for it tonight as well as my Tuesday Show and Tail.
My daughter Hannah adopted Roxanne or Roxie as she likes to be called. She is a princess chihuahua. Hannah and Markus's mom Bonnie even bought her a princess hat with the veil attached! Hee Hee! Markus says he is embrassed for poor Roxie! Men! They just don't understand fashion like girls do! But Roxie is styling in her beige hoosetooth sweather with the pink diamond pattern and heart shaped rhinestone buttons! I should own such a luxurious sweather!

I leave you today with this thought:

ROMANS 1:25

Romans 1:25 (New American Standard Bible)

25:For they exchanged the truth of God for a (A)lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, (B)who is blessed forever. Amen.

I hope you will enjoy my Scripture today and give me your ideas. Sometime I just see something that I need to share and really do not have a lot of words to share with it.

Blessings to everyone in this 2011 New Year!

SOME PINK BUBBLES FOR PINK SATURDAY!

I love bubbles! Bubble baths, blowing bubbles, even an occasional pink bubbly drink! Welcome to Pink Saturday! I hope you will visit Beverly and thank her for hosting our pink weekly fun! I have enjoyed your company for over a year now. I was scared to join because I never thought I would be able to keep up with all of you! But I took a chance, tried it, and like the old Life cereal commericals with Mikey, I liked it! I like to find a new pinkie to visit and spend time visiting many of the weekly pinkies I have grown to love like a favorite shirt or special treat! So come indulge with me and see some old favorites.
So draw yourself a nice soothing bath and fill your tub with pink bubbles. Avon carries a variety of fragrant bubble baths. Next time your waiting in a line, the post office, the grocery store, whip out your mini bottle of bubbles and have some fun like the days when you were still a kid! I try not to advocate drinking soda or pop or carbonated beverages, whichever you prefer. But I do like Cranberry Sierra Mist that comes around during the Christmas holidays. I have bad bones so I try to steer away from soda but this stuff is great. It has a nice crisp taste and it is such a pretty color!
So go visit all the pinkies you can and enjoy your weekend filled with pink goodness.

N IS FOR NICKEL

Go visit Jenny Matlock here. Tell her I am talking about the nickel. You know, the cute little five cents worth of change. My phamily laughs at me because I have  a canister full of change! When it gets full I wrap those coins and haul them to the bank. I had gotten some cool cash for my trouble. Plus because I live in the Denver metro area I have seen them make nickels at the Denver Mint www.usmint.gov/mint_tours.  Twenty nickels equal one dollar. You can order off the dollar menu at McDonalds or Wendys with a buck. They will even let you count your change! I like money, I love change! I like to save my change. When I was a child my Uncle Louie and Auntie Ang took us kids for bongo bananas at the Dairy Delux (sadly it is now defunct). They took us to the cemeterey. My uncle use to walk ahead of us and drop changes on the ground. We loved going to the cemeterey. We ate mulberries off the trees and collected change. We had fun.  I learned to scout out graves of my relatives. I also loved to fill my piggy bank with change! After my uncle passed away in 1990 I would find pennies on the ground. I started to think my uncle sent those pennies to me from heaven so every time I find a coin on the ground I look upward and thank my uncle for the change! I find mainly pennies but recently I have found a few dimes and nickels. If you research the nickel you will find that it has changed its face from time to time. So start saving your nickels and join the Alphabe Thursday post with Jenny and do something nice with your new friend the nickel!

THE FAMILY CIRCUS

We have been hit with several days of frigid temperatures dipping into below zero and all that sort of bone chilling weather. Yet during these times I truly love ice cream! I am trying to be good so I buy sorbet and the combination of chocolate and raspberry or chocolate with mango is truly wonderful. I also have some lemon on hand. Sorbet is good because it is sweet yet not filling like a huge slice of cake or pie! Hmm....

So I wanted to share this cute Family Circus cartoon with you and my short note about creamy frozen treats!
I have not been participating in many of my favorite meme's because of the dire situation we had here with my Sweet's brother. The details are awful and gorey and because I was raised in such a loving and kind environment it is very difficult for me to deal with this.

I love knowing all of you and I want you to know that I get so tickled when you stop by. I could use the company. Come say hello soon. I could put the tea kettle on or pour you a steaming cup of hot coffee.
Thanks to google for these images. I am having some difficulties getting my photos from my camera to come out and play!

LOVE IS...

This is a sweet reminder of my early marriage days. We left little love notes everywhere and sent each other cards in the mail. I hope you will come join Marydon and Sherry and I for this Monday fun meme. The shy artist Kim Grove use to leave little notes for her future hubby Roberto Casali and he kept every single one of them but he thought there was something more too them. He showed them to a person in the syndication business who agreed that they should be  made public and that is how the Love is...phenomenon was born.
I shared this with you today because in the store earlier today I told Sweets to make sure he sent me a Valentine. Our local King Soopers grocery store has a mail box in each front range store and they collect your addressed and stamped Valentine's and then they are mailed from Loveland, Colorado. Each year thousands of folks send their Valentine's to Loveland so they will have the special postmark. They have volunteers who hand stamp these Valentine's and there is always a special poem on the stamped cards. Send your cards too. They are www.withlovefromloveland.com/.

PRAYERTIME

I wanted to have a light hearted post today. I just love the Family Circus and when looking for images to share it is very sad how much garbage is out there and how someone can take such a precious comic like this and turn it into some horrible self gratifying disgusting pleasure! Ugh! I hope you will enjoy these two I chose and the fact that the sweet little ones were praying is just a delight to me.
If you enjoy this post I hope you will come over and join us at  Spiritual Sunday. Charlotte and Ginger do an  amazing job each week coordinating all this for everyone to enjoy.

I hope 2011 makes you smile as much as Dolly and Jeffy make me smile.

PRAYERS AND SOME GOOD NEWS

I am trying to get into the swing of the new year. We were swamped at work today and our Audiologist was out. Family emergency. Dr. T's hubby Patrick was taken to the emergency room with a blinding headache. He was sent home. A while later he was unresponsive and the good doctor and her family called an ambulance. He had a blood clot and was transferred to a "trauma I" hospital where he had emergency surgery and is currently stable. I ask that you all pray for this wonderful family. Dr. T. or Koko as she prefers is a sweet and wonderful gal who is my co worker. Her hubby Patrick and his mom  and Koko and Patrick's two kiddos Kira and Kevin are a wonderful family. Please pray that Patrick has a swift recovery and is back on his feet in no time.
In the meantime my niece Holly had a lumpy bumpy on her breast. She is mom to cuties Sean and Sarah and wife to Steve. She was scared and had a biopsy two days after Christmas. She found out today that that darn lumpy bumpy was not breast cancer. Thank goodness and Praise God! Rather something in her thyroid meds that needs to be adjusted. Thanks for all the prayers you put out for her.
My Sweets spent the morning with his brother at the surgery's office. More back surgery in his future. It has been a very difficult road for us with him here. My Sweets loves his brother but his presence has taken a toll on our phamily. He will get the surgery as soon as the doctor can schedule him and get the insurance approval. Then my Sweets told the doctor he needs to go into rehab to recover. We work, our kids work and go to  to school full time so we do not have the means to be a full time care provider here. Please pray. We need to accept this I know and I hate to sound uncaring but it has been very difficult for the six of us and Phil who stays with us. Everyone is always trying to avoid him and he over medicates himself and we have no clue where he hides the meds he was getting from his family doctor and previous surgery. It is a real battle for us as we are all a bunch of plain janes at our house. We don't do anything to harm ourselves and it is difficult to watch someone slowing going down the drain. I just ask for prayer.
On a happier note I seem to be linking into some strange survey and got a nice tutorial from Jenny to help me resolve the problem. This blogging business is puzzling sometime.
I appreciate each and everyone of you and wish you all well in the new year. Thanks for always listening and come back often.

Love is...

This is Sweets and I. Not a huge amount of snow for the New Year but enough frigid temps to keep you safely inside. I pray for all those who have no home,no where to go. I just heard a news report that in Denver all the shelters are booked to capacity. Let's all pray that everyone can come in from the cold and stay safe and warm.
I hope each one of you are enjoying the New Year and settling in from the Christmas holidays. Let's all join together in this new year and pray for the homeless, the unloved and the millions of displaced Americans.
I hope you will come to join us in this new year with Love is...it is such a sweet and simple reminder that love is the ultimate gift.
Marydon at http://blushingrosetoo.blogspot.com/ and Sherry and I wish you all much love in this new year 2011.
