Aw...Mondays Love is... Sparks

Aww...Mondays

Aw.....these creatures are so incredible. I love to feed them at the zoo.

This one is bringing you a flower. What a thoughtful creature.

love is...ahead of this ole world knowing about each precious moment.

If there be one attribute of the Deity which astonishes me more than another, it is the attribute of patience. The Great Soul that sits on the throne of the universe is not, never was, and never will be, in a hurry. In the realm of nature, every thing has been wrought out in the august consciousness of infinite leisure; and I bless God for that geology which gives me a key to the patience in which the creative process was effected. ~Timothy Titcomb (J.G. Holland), "Patience," Gold-Foil, Hammered from Popular Proverbs, 1859  [Quoted (Holland), in Gems for the Fireside, edited by O.H. Tiffany, 1883: "Geology gives us a key to the patience of God." —tĪµį–‡į–‡¡·g]

Thankful Thursday Tea Time/ Feline Friday Pink Saturday

 Things to be Thankful for:

Simplicity, fresh air through an open window

Quiet moments spent reading a good book

Music moments to rest and relax

Spending quiet time with God in prayer

I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder. G. K. Chesterton . A Short History of England, 1917

An attitude of gratitude is a never-ending prayer. William Arthur Ward, Thoughts of a Christian Optimist, 1968

Always looking for things to share at tea parties. These cute sandwiches are three simple ingredients. Strawberries, cream cheese and a loaf of bread to cut into cute shapes. I even have a tea pot cookie cutter that would be cute with this. If you can find strawberry flavored cream cheese, these would be tasty in pink too.

I don't have any photos but a few weeks ago Hannah and Jake had company. His phamily came over for dinner and they went outdoors to light a fire in the fire pit. As the fire started Jake's sister heard a noise and saw five kitten come out of the fire pit. They had been living in the fire pit and their mother was not around. They were so blessed. Only a few singed whiskers.  Not a burn on any of them. They have a friend who is caring for them as they need to be bottled fed. Their story reminds me of the three men in the fire in the Old Testament- Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. You can read it in the Book of Daniel 3:16-30. They were thrown into the fire and when the king went see if they were burned he saw a fourth man in the fire. Those young men came out unscathed. God works in mysterious ways. I will get updates about the kittens. I was hoping their mother would show up but no luck. Maybe their friend will provide a few photos as the kittens are growing up quickly. They were about 6 weeks old when they came out of the fire pit.

Here are some Pinterest kittens in a basket.  Aren't they so cute?

Have a wonderful weekend. These days go by quickly.

Happy Tuesday Maxine Cracks Me Up

 Happy Tuesday

You know that Maxine cracks me up..... welll........ she is a wild one today!

What are we going to do with Maxine? I'll tell you , absolutely nothing! She is her own person in a man's mind! Kudos to the gentleman who creates Maxine and her snarkiness.

Are you happy? I sure am. It is ninety seven degrees outside yet I am chilling indoors with a limeade and cold water and nice a/c to keep us sane. Yesterday Avery was still home with me. Our plumber woke us up way too early to tell us the tech called in sick so we had to reschedule.  It is nothing urgent, just a check which is part of the plan we have with them. Our next appointment was at 2 for our haircuts. We went out to breakfast, came home and changed the living room curtains for the third time! But our living room is even cooler now. sigh....we are happy.

The trash man came so I ran out there to put up my trash containers. Then the recycle followed. It's way TOO hot to do anything else outdoors.

I'm happy because although I currently am homebound without a car, I am grateful for the days I spend with Avery. He made green chili on Monday. The vendor we purchased them from didn't get all the seeds out so it was a messy project..They were Hatch's chilies. I think we will visit Lulu's and buy more frozen chilies until September rolls in and we can go buy them fresh and clean them ourselves.

Happy because by the end of this year we will have a new grandson. Happy for the few trips we will be able to take too.

I'm happy because the amazon driver left our packages behind the bin I have out on the front porch for salt to clear the icy walks in the winter.

Happy to be planning a shower for Hannah as they will try to come out once more before the baby is born. Rebekah has a gift for party planning and my sister-in-law Cheri is helping us too

Happy that  my son Jeremy sent me a photo of amazon boxes yesterday. hahaha Brittany my daughter-in-law who I love dearly said she has lots of gifts in those boxes. I'm so happy she is related to us.

Happy the chocolate silk pie and the banana cream abirthday pie is nearly gone. Oh the tempatation!

You know Maxine has an answer for everything in this world.

More happiness:

...the only possible good in the universe is happiness. The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here. The way to be happy is to try and make somebody else so. ~Robert G. Ingersoll, 1888

I've learned to be happy with what I have, and even if I lost it, I'd still be happy, because (see start of sentence.) ~Robert Brault, rbrault.blogspot.com, 2019

The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up. ~Mark Twain, 1896

There are lots of ways of being miserable, but there’s only one way of being comfortable, and that is to stop running round after happiness. If you make up your mind not to be happy there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have a fairly good time. ~Edith Wharton, "The Last Asset," in Scribner's Magazine, 1904  [Followed by, "That was Schopenhauer's idea, I believe." —tg]

Happiness is excitement that has found a settling down place, but there is always a little corner that keeps flapping around. ~E. L. Konigsburg, From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, 1967

The key to happiness? Simple really. You don't let short-term concerns ruin your life, and you don't let long-term concerns ruin your day. ~Robert Brault, rbrault.blogspot.com

Happiness is always a by-product. It never comes to those who concentrate on securing it... It always comes as a result of something else. The pursuit of noble things, the things essentially worth while... As a man goes on life's journey, with a brave heart, doing the best he can... he often hears the faint flutter of invisible wings, he feels a presence, a companion. It is Happiness. ~Chicago Herald, c. 1917

Happiness is always a by-product. It is probably a matter of temperament, and for anything I know it may be glandular. But it is not something that can be demanded from life, and if you are not happy you had better stop worrying about it and see what treasures you can pluck from your own brand of unhappiness. ~Robertson Davies (1913–1995)

All persons carry with them some means of happiness. ~James Lendall Basford (1845–1915), Sparks from the Philosopher's Stone, 1882

I don't think you can feel a sense of entitlement and still be happy. Happiness always comes from feeling that you've been blessed. ~Robert Brault, rbrault.blogspot.com

I colorized this b/w photo. I feel like it shows their facial expressions so beautifully. My dad was the best and although I miss him, I am grateful they are not here to witness what is coming next in this world.

Saturday Funnies

I'm a Lucy kinda gal

I thought I would share some funnies over the weekend. With the storms were have had in the past few months we often get our power kicked off. Our daughter Rebekah attends all these functions at the city where we live, so she contacted the Excel rep. who talked to residents at one of these events recently. She was able to get the right people involved and we were told they were going to put in a new transformer. So far so good and I pray it continues. I love my blogs but it has been hard trying to keep them up with all the blackouts.

I think Lucille Ball was one of the greatest comic actresses in my lifetime. Today's comedy involves so much smut. I was sad when Bill Envall announced his retirement. He is funny and refreshing. But Lucy had the perfect comic timing along with her co star on her TV series, Vivian Vance.

My friend Carole, who I met in the kindergarten always says a mom's investigating skills are unmatched.  This little Mandalorian has the right words here. Girls have incredible skills finding out important information.

I haven't seen my friend Shirley F since our days of working together at the courthouse in my hometown. We reconnecting at social media and Shirley has this kind of sense of humor. She was always making us laugh at work.

A favorite funny from sweet Jessica. She has been gone two years and I can still her laughter lighting up a room. Trust me, she did this experiment to her own children.

I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person. ~Audrey Hepburn (1929–1993)

Thankful Thursday Feline Friday Pink Saturday

 Thankful Thursday

I can not resist a bowtie and this Kitten Wearing A Bowtie . He is adorable and fits in purrfectly for Thankful Thursday as well as Feline Friday  We had storms yesterday and having had the power go out for the past month many times, I stayed away from my electronics. I will say that I have an incredibly bossy and rude cat. He does not want to stop eating. I am not sure what I can do with him. He is given his exact measurement of food twice a day and yet he is constantly searching to steal food and then throw up anywhere he please. I miss the days when he was a naughty kitten shredding toilet tissue for fun! I wonder if his teeth bother him as the other vet said his teeth were bad and nothing could be done. I am hoping to take him to the CSU Veterinary Hospital in Fort Collins later this year to update his shots with them and see if they can help me with his teeth. My sister had a little dog who had to have all his teeth pulled. He lived extra years in his old age because he enjoyed soft food.  It is a real dilemma for me as he can be a real jerk and be extra naughty. Sigh....I am thankful s there may be someone else  who may have the answers I Need for him.

Truthfully my Tiger boy, Mister Kitty is just like Jerry taunting me and the dogs and the other kitty. Although if he is around Daphne and she finishes her food, he is much more sociable. He is a strange cat to figure out  but he adores, Blake, Harrison and Shea. But they have a gift around cats and know how to handle them with extra care.

Our next grandchild won't be wearing pink Crocs with me but rather.....

We are God's handiwork . created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us  to do. Ephesians 2:10
This is the verse in Scripture I chose for him.

I wonder if he will wait to be born on this date?

I pray for good health and a safe delivery. His parents already prayed for him with this Scripture:

For this child I prayed and  the Lord has granted the desires of my heart. 1 Samuel  1:27

Thank you always for being here and please know I am going to catch up before the storms settle in again.

Happy Tuesday

 Happy Tuesday

A different spin on my Happy Tuesday today. I am happy to pray for those who have a loved one being deployed. My sweet friend Morgan with three kiddos, triplets, starting 4th grade today is asking for prayer for her phamily and her husband Doug who is a Navy surgeon being deployed. A friend of Morgan's,  Charlotte has two sons, one is already deployed and one going in the Fall. Pray for these and all phamilies dealing with this difficult time.

"Therefore, confess your sins and to each other, and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and  effective." James 5:16

" Be an encourager, the world already has enough critics." Dave Willis

With the heat we have moving in I am with you Maxine!

A bit of extra humor today to make you happy.

Humor is good for the soul.

Tea is good for the soul too.

Have a blessed day.

Feline Friday Pink Saturday Humor My BoJon Heritage

 Feline Friday

This frame worthy beauty was too precious not to share.

Pink Saturday

Maxine stop spying on me! hahahaha

I never forget to be grateful for Grace.
