THANKFUL THURSDAY

 Thankful Thursday

This big guy does not like his carrier. I wish I had trained him on a harness. The vet we saw for his annual check up said he is not that old and I could try to walk him on a harness. We have a super long driveway so I am thinking of trying it. Any ideas or thoughts? He was upset in the carrier and the vet tried to listen to his heart and it was racing. So she asked him if he wanted to be turned to look at us? He must have because we started talking to him calmly and he settled down. He lost three lbs. and that was a good thing. But his teeth aren't terrific. There is no way he will allow me to brush his teeth so if anyone has ideas what to do...I would be thankful for any suggestions. I will say the vet we saw Monday was super nice, has several cats of her own and she was not pushing us to get his teeth cleaned under anesthesia. It is super expensive and I am very uneasy about putting him under. He is a nervous fellow when he has to go to the vet just because of the sights, sounds and smells or other animals in the area. He is a real scaredy cat when he takes his morning stroll out the back door to roll on the cement and he scurries inside quick fast if he hears the neighbor dog bark.  All in all his appointment was good except for the teeth . He came home after getting his shots and exam and he climbing into his warm bed to take a leisure nap. Thankful for his appointment and the fact that he did lose a few pounds. We changed his diet about 6 months ago and he seems more content with his new food.

Always thinking of Boots. Wondering if he may be sending some extra love to our boy today so he will be happier and healthier for a long while.

Thankful Thursday

 Thankful Thursday

Humor is my best medicine after a solemn day. I am thinking this is going to be Mister Kitty and me right behind him! I think laughter can make so many things better. I am very thankful for it.

My friend Jean shared this little tidbit. The poor cat needs more sleep. Perhaps too much catnip? One will never know. But the face is priceless and the caption is too funny. Thankful for all little tidbits of laughter and fun.

Sleep will come very soon. Have a wonderful rest and dream about something you are thankful for. Until we meet again....

Happy Tuesday Wordless Wednesday Thankful Thursday

 Happy Tuesday

Missing some blog hops so combining a few to add to my post.

I love this photo of Nick from 2010. We were returning from my mother-in-law's funeral in Holly, Colorado on this date 11 years ago.. Those days after her passing were filled with so much emotion. It was a good feeling having so many of our loved ones here with us.  This was my "Happy Tuesday" share.

Maxine always has her own  opinions on everything!

Wordless Wednesday Normally I try very hard to be wordless on Wednesday but my cousin shared this photo and I did not have the credit so it belongs to someone who is a fantastic photographer.

Thankful Thursday Watching some of the swimming on the Olympics and thankful for the moment, to still be living free.  Lots of people say they stopped watching the Olympics because of the politics. I am not going to be political here but it is a shame what has happened to athletes who work so hard to get to the big show only to have it marred with controversy and politics.

My Lulu was curled up in the Minky blanket yesterday. She was cold because we have been in an ongoing heat wave and it was 95 outside. I keep the house as cool as I can during those overheated days. Thankful we are able to have central air.

This was at social media on a page called LandofFloof. Isn't this cute? He seriously thinks he is camouflaged. Thankful laughter still exists in this murky ole world.

I will share my fill in's  answers tomorrow. Thank Ellen and Lorianne for doing this blog hop each week and thiniing up great questions to answer.

Thankful Thursday

 Thankful Thursday

We spent the day with Hannah and Jake in Colorado Springs. Here are a couple phoots of Saint Mart's Catholic Church in  downtown Colorado Springs. As a young girl I attended the funeral of my mother's aunt Francesca Marold.  It is a lovely old church and I remember it well. I add the churches I snap photos of to my Pinterest board #whereigotopray

Here is the view of the front of the church.

We went on a nice hile at the Garden of the Gods. We saw this twisted and broken tree lying on the ground.

Jake and Hannah enjoyed the views up there and the weather was perfect.

Lots of brave souls climbing high up to take photos.

The weather was perfect.

We had a nice time and saw people riding horses along side the upper road. It was a sight to see. There was one horse who had no left eye when he passed by. They were really beautiful creatures.

The rock formations are so beautiful and the mountains setting behind them look a lovely shade of blue. Lots of trees and  bushes everywhere.

Our son-in-law Jake and my husband Avery had a nice time. we really enjoyed the day.

This church, Plesant Valley Free Evangelical  was on the road on the way to our restaurant. We had hoped to get a reservation at Fargo's Pizza but could not get through their phone line and we stopped by but there was a line of people outside the building. So Hannah found a diner close by. The Black Bear Diner. The fod was great, the atmosphere nice and it turned out to be a nice dining experience.

We were all thankful for the nice day. Thankful the weather was great. Thankful we saw some great sights and thankful for a good meal. We are going to miss the kids as tomorrow is their last day here with us. We made some new memories and are so thankful them too.
gosiablogs.blogspot.com I am coming over to share a fence at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado/ Thank you for letting me participate.

Sweet dreams and thankful for being here and hopeful for another tomorrow. Goodnight.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

Thankful Thursday I am truly thankful today for so much. I am going to list it here:

1. Phamily - without them, where would I be? Having Hannah and Jake here for a while is a blessing of which I am thankful. As I was typing away, Harrison James came creeping into my bedroom and scared the dickens out of me! He was laughing so hard. Goodness, I love his laughter.

2. Hard Work - getting ready for Hannah's birthday bash this weekend. Rebekah and Hannah and Jake washed down the patio and cleaned off the tables and chairs. Then they started to trim the giant pine tree. Which led to more cleaning. Hannah and Jake were up on the roof cleaning the gutters. Jake cleared the gutters and now everything is so good. Thankful for them and all the hard work.

3. Free Firewood- it has been in the 90's and we keep hearing maybe breaking 100 ( no no no please Lord no). So firewood would be the last thing on your mind right? But Hannah and Jake will cut up the big branches that fell and take them home for their winter warmth. So very thankful.

4. Baseball - It is hard to have a day go by that I don't mention baseball. I am thankful for it. Thankful for my dad that played semi pro ball long before I was thoughts about. Thankful for my mom who also played the game and two brothers as well. I played it and enjoyed it but I don't think I did enjoy it the way my mom did. I suppose she played in a different time and everyone loved the game. I was timid ( I know it is hard to beleive) so I was not as forceful as some of the bigger girls who were really good. But I have always loved the game. Now we get to watch Brody play his T Ball. Thankful

5. Games- Thankful for all the fun kid games we have. Harrison is the master of Banana Blast and Candyland. He is like Grandfather Avery. Ha Ha Ha - winner winner, I say they are both two big chicken dinners!! Brody is the puzzle master. He puts those together so quickly with Grandpa Avery and Rebekah too. Blake is our little smartie. He does everything Brody does. So he can count to 10 and he knows all his letters and colors. It is amazing to watch these little ones grow up.

Thankful for all good things in my life and for all of you too.

I always like to leave some wise words for you to read and hopefully share.

Some humor to make sure you smile more.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

This cat is something else! He has taken over my Minky blankets. You have never felt anything so soft and sweet. I can't sleep without them and I guess now, neither can he!  I suppose as long as he is not ornery I will allow him this luxury. I am thankful for him. He sure warms my feet on cold nights but he is smart to find a cool bed with this heat we are having. He likes to go where it is extra cold. We keep the a/c on low at night as the temp falls about 20-30 degrees which is not very much with a high of 102 expected today.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Ellen came up with the first two and Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two. The linky stays open until Wednesday night.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

Everyday there is much to be Thankful for. Thankful Thursday

So...you have the good life when  you are allowed to take your nap on a Minky Couture blanket. I have not even had the opportunity to use this! These blankets are so soft and comfy. I have a smaller one that I like at night to help me fall asleep. This feline thinks he is the owner of this place he calls home! He says I should be thankful he is here! I think he may have been mad that I snapped his photo. He thinks he is too good to take a nice photo for me.

Thankful Colton stopped by with Shea yesterday.  She turned a whole one year old! She is a character, so fearless, so happy, so excited around all the pets. She has no fear and loves life. They will have a birthday party for her on Saturday. What a joyful year this has been with her in our lives. I often heard grumbling about 2020 and you know, I never had fear about anything. I trust the highest power there is and will not change my mind about that.  I do ask for prayer for Lex, she is the  twin sister of my SIL Zach. She was diagnosed with the virus and she is 3 months pregnant. Prayers for Amanda too. Also due in November 2021 but with natural triplets. My grandmother always said, God has the say if he wants babies in this world. I am excited for both of these sweet mom's. I ask God to put a protection over them and their loved ones.

13 And they were bringing children to Him so that He would touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. 14 But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, “Allow the children to come to Me; do not [a]forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” 16 And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them. the Book of Mark Chapter 10

A favorite photo of Nick from May 18, 2015 when Colton graduated from high school. Always so many good memories. I remember my own high school graduation. My father was a steel worker and he was not able to attend most school functions but he was able to attend my high school graduation. What a wonderful memory. I need to find and sort more photos as I know I have some with my dad that day.
Colton's graduation and Avery with his favorite girls. 2015 seems like yesterday for me.

This was true in Casey's day. Today....not so much. I see some pro catchers that can not seem to hang on to a baseball!

Thankful Thursday

 Thankful Thursday

This is Lulu on this date in 2018. She was so tiny.  I am always thankful that I made the decision to bring her home with me.  She is still a little love bug and a good mom, though that was unexpected. Now she is older and content with her two babies living with her. Mollie was born first but she is still so tiny. Finn was born 5 hours later and he is a big boy but also so gentle and sweet. Mollie is very much like her mom. A hungry, hungry pup.  I am happy they live here and enjoy a good life.

Here is my girl with Thor and Loki in 2018. They were so small. So thankful for them.

Rebekah should be a dog photographer. She captures the best photos and this is 2021. Still all best friends. Very thankful.

This is true of good canine and feline fur babies. Always thankful .

Thankful Thursday

Avery Bear is watching over Mister Kitty as he rested near the Love pillow and the burlap pillow , which he loves that says Just remember, as far as anyone knows, we are just a nice, nornaml family. HaHaHa....

My big boy was resting because it was snowing outside and it was in the 20's. We both enjoyed some luxury time lounging about. I told him, he wasn't the only one who knew how to take a nap. Thankful for such a feline friend to rest with.

I found some beautiful strawberries at the store and a small angel food cake.  Fresh Strawberry shortcake was served for dessert. Someday I will master the angel food cake. My mother-in-law Rita could make an angel food cake as light as a feather and delicious. Auntie Ang also whipped up angel food cakes like a dream too. But she was very decadent. She cut her angel food cake in half and smothered the between layer with chocolate mousse. Sigh... Thankful those amazing ladies were in my life.

Since it was so cold, Rebekah already made BLT's for dinner Monday night. She baked two mini and two large loaves of French bread. Avery and I made a batch of Potato Cheese Soup Tuesday evening. We had it tonight too. Thankful for these comfort foods and cozy meals.

I hope you will enjoy your night, rest well and have a pleasant Thursday with lots of sunshine. I pray for it everyday.

My boy Boots. He was the best feline friend you could ever have. He was like a person to me although I have often thought he was simply an angel in disguise. He will always be my most Thankful Thursday and every other day of the week Thankful.
