Love is.../Blue Monday

LOL! If this were true all the time, oh how wonderful aging would be! I have a birthday in three days! Another year older. I got a new haircut. I feel younger and my head feels lighter. I was feeling sorry for myself and realized I needed to snap out of it!
Today my hair wants to part down the middle and when it grows out a bit I will enjoy it more!
Yesterday I found a few books at the Goodwill store. They were so cheap. It was a great bargain. But while we were there I found lots of blue to share with Sally
Tons of blue.
Blues all over the place.
And more blues. Lots of fun items all over the store. I hope you stop by Sally's and visit her and the rest of the Blues! Have a great week.

Love is,,,/Blue Monday

These little Love is...are so sweet! I have not seen one that I don't  like. We go to church early on Sunday morning so we have lots of quick showers to take so we can hit the road! We are excited to see Nick in two days for the Thanksgiving holiday. We want to take him to the church because it is fairly new to us and he has not been there. He attends a church in Salina and wewant to visit  Nick's church too sometime soon.
Thanksgiving is just a few short days away. Are you traveling for the holidays? Are you cooking at home? This Norman Rockwell painting portrays Thanksgiving the way I experienced it as a kid.  I thought the Blue Crew would appreciate this and hopefully you will see the pretty blue dress the Mrs. is wearing while adding the turkey to the holiday table.

In case your Thanksgiving theme is blue, these jello parfaits are prefect, I always make a jello dessert for my grandson Colton. It is raspberry jello with frozen strawberries and frosted inside with sour cream. It is perfect with just a little sweet, some tart and sour cream to top it all off.

I think the turkey is underrated and he does not get a fair shake like the Snowman, Santa or even Christmas trees! I would love to have plates like this with the turkey motif. This table scaping is pretty and practical. Do you set your good china? Use paper plates? What type of dinner do you host?

Enjoy your Thanksgiving with those you love. Sometime people do not have any one to share this day with. Say a prayer for all those who are lonely on this beautiful day that many of us take for granted.

Thank you google images for these wonderful images today and please visit Sally and all the blues.

Love is.../Blue Monday

My honey and I! Hee Hee! I have worn glasses since the fourth grade. When I find that school photo I can give all of you quite a scare! Those glasses were called "cat eyes" and they were brown with silver sparkly things all over them. I was quite a fourth grade nerd! LOL!
Linda from Prairie Flower Farm and I at her phamilies sweet market/coffee house last weekend. We both, as you can see, wear glasses, and are married to wonderful godly men.

When Nick was small he L O V E D Arthur! Notice his spiffy blue jeans? Perfect for Blue Monday.
We were getting new glasses one day , the girls and I . Nick was very small and looking over the children's eyeglass display. Next thing we know he turns around and proudly says, "look I'm Arthur!" He found the biggest, roundest glasses and slipped them on his face! It is one of those memories I will always treasure.

The clouds look very blue while the sun is setting. I take a lot of quick shots at stoplights etc. I am a very safe driver.
The road home was getting closer last Sunday when we left Kansas. It was a blessing as the bad weather came after we arrived home. My hubby was driving here.
Some thoughts as we enter the holiday season...It is important to remember that not everyone is surrounded by large wonderful families. Some of us have problems during the holidays and some of us are overcome with great sadness when we remember the loved ones who are not with us. And many people have no one to spend these times with and are besieged by loneliness. We all need caring, loving thoughts right now. If I don't see your name I will understand. May I ask my friends, ...wherever you might be, to kindly copy, paste and post this status for one hour to give a moment of support for all those who have family problems, health struggles, job issues, worries of any kind and just need to know someone cares. Do it for all of us, for nobody is immune.

Before I set off to play at Sally's I wanted to share a final blue. A blogger friend  Michael and Face Book buddy posted this.  It is a true fact and if you know someone hurting during the holiday season offer them your kindness.

Enjoy your week.

"The Deep Freeze" and Other Random Blog Thoughts for Alphabe Thursday and Such

Now we don't have this massive amount of snow Y E T ! But.....the sentiment is perfect. When you live fifteen minutes away from your job and the traffic adds another five minutes to your coming and going routine, it is annoying,  but when you have to crawl home on the ice rink the city calls roads and arrive one hour later, that is unacceptable! Where on God's green earth ( yes, yes, pun is intended) did you miserable drivers live? Fantasyland!? Florida? Southern California? The Bahamas? If you can not drive on the white stuff we call S N O W you should board a bus! You can get to where you need to go without hitting me,  shattering my middle girl's car window and bring the entire city to a standstill! Argh......I dislike bitter cold weather as much as I dislike politicians, let me clarify that, A L L politicians!
Yesterday I had a job. Today no more. I would think age , not youth would be the closest answer to why I was blind sighted by this. I am finding it difficult to move forward. Zipping by the hours in my day , wondering what is in store for me next. I love this quote, Move forward, today is my gift from God and tomorrow is a surprise. I would like some peace and calm. The past two years had been very difficult, the ten prior were easier All the hard work, my honesty, none of it made a difference. Today someone new takes my place.
So I must move forward. Zip along the road of life and stop only if my journey needs a rest.
I need to repeat this. At my age it is always uncertain how you will perceived. I need to work so we can live. It is difficult not having that stable income any longer, I will ask you to pray and be a prayer warrior for me and for all who need a helping hand from the Lord.
These are powerful words I need to cherish in my heart and use in my daily life. I hope you visit Ms. Jenny and pray for her recovery. She has had the worst year with all these health issues. Yet each week she encourages us to participate in Alphabe Thursday and smile.  I hope you liked my tiny "Y" and "Z" shares today. Participate in Pink Saturday and say hello to a lady who always makes sure pink is sprinkled everywhere in your lives. Thank you Beverly

Off to pick my hubby up at the bus and enjoy a quiet evening with him at home before more snow, more bitter cold temps hold us hostage once more. Please pray and thank you for letting me share with you today.

Love is.../Blue Monday/ Some Giveaway Winners!

We are exhausted! Our trip has wound down and we are home again. Tired but happy. Enjoyed some wonderful times with Nick and watched him run his best XC race this season! Saw Linda and met her face to face along with her sweet man and their beautiful daughter. Such a joyful time. More stories later. Sharing a favorite Love is...passion drives us because we have to be in tune to each other and these are the moments I treasure. My sweet hubby is sleeping soundly. I was tuckered out and missed the best half of the Bronco game today. LOL! So while he rests, I will finish my post and tell you who won the giveaway I shared.
Nick kicked it up in his hot pink compression socks and passed six other runners at the end of his race to take 20th. His team did not make it to Nationals but they ran well and considering the brutal cold wind, everyone had great times! There were 100 runners! Coach says we have to come back for indoor track as Nick ran his best race of the season!

The vibrant blue sky highlighted the race because the wind was cold and really wild! Nick's passion for running came shining through yesterday! He kicked it up at the end to finish well. He has been involved in a bible study, attending church with these kids and studying hard. It was nice to see him give his all.

I thought Sally and the Blue crew would like the blue skies over Kansas.
Ok, now I had this blogaversary giveaway and I always send surprises so here is the list of my three winners:

1) Joy H

2) Linda at A La Carte

3)Theresa at They Call Me Ganky

Thanks everyone who commented and who follows me! I appreciate your love and support. Ladies send me your addresses so I can send off your gifts.

Love is.../ Blue Monday/ Blogaversary Giveaway

The blue bench at the open spaces where we walk. Sometime they are nice just for sitting and watching the wild life.
We love Mexican food and these colorful chairs are at one of those fun places. See the pretty blue on them?
I found flour in this sweet lil sack highlighted in blue, Isn't it cute?

I hope you visit Sally and all the Blues today.

A Five Year Blogaversary and a Giveaway

Today marks five years that I officially began writing this blog. I started it because my friend Barbara talked me into it! I dedicated the blog to my middle's little dog Tinkerbell that was ill with liver cancer. She passed away on May 26, 2010. It was a sad time, the previous Saturday before her death I lost a good but estranged friend Michelle. She was 47 and passed away suddenly from a massive heart attack. I did not know then that four short months later my friend and mentor from Princess House, Jonel would also pass away, at age 47 from a massive heart attack. Sadness. It slaps us like a brutal, cold wind on a wintery day.I started blogging about more personal things, my phamily more often than anything and occasionally striking out at various illnesses, diseases, and other topics dear to me. I like to laugh, I find humor can save us from just about any situation that is hard to understand. Then there is my faith. without it, I would be, empty.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am feeling sad today too. I was cleaning the garage with my hubby and Jeremy let his three dogs out! The two bigger ones tripped me up and I was hurting, You know when you fall and try to catch yourself, stop yourself ! Then I signed on to my Face Book account. Sadness. I lost my precious cousin Audrey today. We had so much fun visiting at FB and her loss saddened me tremendously. I hope you will pray for her phamily. They are going to be so lost without her. If you have a moment you may go to my FB page Anne Kocman Robinson and read my post.
I am very blessed..The reason I had originally wanted to post today  because it is my blogaversary and I am going to have a giveaway! Just a few surprises so please just leave a comment and I will draw the winner on Sunday November 9th after I return home from Kansas. I will put together a nice giveaway so please come join me.
