Feline Friday and Pink Saturday

 Feline Friday]

Morris the cat was a rescue who became a star of TV commercials for 9 LIves cat food.  Although the original Morris passed away in 1978 at the age of 17, his successors have all been rescue cats just like the orighinal Morris. I had a Morris the Cat t shirt and so did our oldest daughter Noelle. My aunt Ang's sister Rose who lived in Anaheim had a neighbor who worked for  the 9 Lives cat food company and gave us each a free Morris t shirt. I have that photo and will have to hunt it up and share it here.

The wonderful thing about Morris is as an advocate for kindness to animals, Morris led the Morris' Million Cat Rescue in 2006 to find felines everywhere to find a home they could call their own.

He also ran for President in 1988 and 2012. Oh Morris, you would have made a fine president.

Pink Saturday

We have high winds and cold air here so I am heading into the kitchen to make a cup of hot tea for my honey and me. Have a wonderful weekend.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful I can pray for others. Chelsea, who is a LuLaRoe consultant and mom of two girls is in the hospital. She has the flu. I hope you will pray for her. She is very blessed, besides a wonderful husband, her "Mamacita" is helping her with the girls. The little one has a neurological problem the doctors are trying to diagnose. The older girl is 6 and she is a world class gymnast. Their lives are very busy and this is hard on Chelsea being so sick. Thankful to pray for others and thankful to know this little sweet phamily.

I am thankful I had a carton of heavy whipping cream and I was making the whipped cream to use on my pudding, I was putting the whipped cream into a container when I blob fell on the floor. But it hit my foot and 4 puppies surrounded me to have a sweet feast! I was thankful there was no waste and they had a little treat. Thankful.

These three cuties, Thor, Lulu and Loki came to live with us on this date April 28, 2018. Four years later and they are still here, getting whipped cream and an occasional treat or two. They live a good life and we would never trade them for anything.  Thankful.

Jeremy and Brittany will celebrate their 6th wedding anniversary April 30, 2022. Brittany won the Circle of Excellence trip for 2022. Both she and Jeremy have won this trip previously, when Jeremy was employed at the company where Brittany stills works. They flew into San Diego this morning. and are enjoying a luxury trip. Jeremy is excited because they will get to tour the USS Midway and his love of history has made him very excited to do this. He facetimed us earlier tonight and you can be see the San Diego Padres baseball stadium from their hotel window. Thankful they work hard and are blessed to be on this trip during their anniversary week. Prayers for a safe trip home once they are finished with their trip later this weekend.

Thankful for all of you.  Colton is traveling to North Dakota for his job. They have been hit with yet another huge snow storm. Please pray for his safety. I watched the two little ones for him and Jacey Tuesday so the day got away from me. It was fun and I was thankful to have Harrison and Shea in our lives.

Please say some prayers for my friend Lynette and her mom Irene. Her mom took a nasty spill and broke her hip. Lynette has been taking care of everything from fighting with the insurance company for therapy and treatment. She is by herself currently so she is exhausted and needs a break plus rest . Lynette is my life long friend. I sent her mom a card and she sent me the sweetest thank you. I had given her a card with Scripture and she said it made her thankful and gave her some encouragement.  We live in different times where everything has to be controlled by others. Please pray that Irene gets the treatments she needs.

My cousin Mary was diagnosed with breast cancer and lung cancer. She and her husband Tom are exhausted from fighting with the insurance company over  treatments. Wouldn't they realize an Oncologist would be best suited to know what the patient needs? Unfortunately, the ego experience has been around too long and people making these life or death situation treatments for others have to control the situation. Having worked in the medical field for over 30 plus years I have seen this disregard for human life time and time again. This is how I know these politically powerful people don't care about any of us. If they did they would put the insurance companies in their place. But as long as they get what they want when they need it we are kicked to the curb.

Thankful for my faith because in the end none of this will matter. God will win. He will reign supreme and this world will fade away.

Meanwhile I can pray and hope you will do it as well. Thank you.

Thankfulness for all the good things we experience every day.

HAPPY TUESDAY

 HAPPY TUESDAY

Some oldies but goodies with one of my favorite boys. Leo was such a fan of this fellow when he was small. He loved licking the yogurt or toast crumbs off his face. Still makes me H A P P Y today! He is 6 years old and still loves all the pets.

Although these two favorite fellows are 4 and nearly 3 they still make me smile every single say. They visited this weekend and we were blessed to have lunch with them both Satirday and SONday. The things they say. Brody and Blake took a stroll to Auntie's house to check on Roger. They had gummy life savers. Brody came back and when his mom and dad picked them up he said we need to go to Auntie's and get those squishy candies. Jeremy said they were gone and Brody told him, c'mon dad, he can sneak in the house and get some squishy candy hahaha Jeremy said you can't just go in omeones house when theyre gone, So today I made a spoecial trip to the store. Squishy candy is waiting for their next visit.

I like the light left on for me by my favorite Maker. H A P P Y !

Please have a wonderful and H A P P Y  Tuesday. I do have  a current address for LaVoice if you would like to send her a card of encouragement. Just email me 53strait@gmail.com. Thank you. H A P P Y to encourage this fine lady.

Oh Maxine,  I agree 100 percent! I feel the world is against the older generation and the children. It is frightening really but medicine has lost it's integrity, it's dedication to health and have sold most all of their souls for the almighty dollar. You will never convince me otherwise. It is absolutely frightening. Once in a great while, someone will share a good doctor story. But those are rare. I think we should be able to send them a bill for our wait time.

Oh well, the world will not be here forever so I should not trouble myself with their lack of care and compassion.

Aw...Mondays and Love is...

Aw...Mondays I would love to see the inside of this cozy cottage in Carmel, California. DOesn't it look so inviting?

This charming cottage is is New Orleans. I love the happy yellow color and I would love to tour this tiny home.

Avery is an excellent cook. But after working all day long, he does not have much interest in it these days. But Love is...always tells it like it is.

Albert Einstein was a brilliant man. His mind was ahead of the times. I love these quotes which are attributed to him. I hope you will share a Sparks with us all today too.

"Two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein

"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. " Albert Einstein

A reminder I do have the correct mailing address for Lavoice is anyone wishes to send her a card. She is in assisted living and not having anyone to talk with or send cards, her niece said she is sad. email me 53strait@gmail.com for her address there, thank you,  when she blogged her blog was called Thoughts from Mimi's Corner.

Feline Friday and Pink Saturday

 Feline Friday

This kitten is asleep in a tea cup in an ad for Adiago Teas. Tiny little fur baby, sweet dreams.

Pink Saturday from Pinterest. Nothing better than a good old fashioned pink tea party.

Always pretty in pink from Pinterest. Do you like tea parties? They are some of my favorite things.

Maine Cabin Master

Thankful Thursday

Somebody did not want his photo taken. There are days he is so funny and antimated. Today is not one of those days! But he does love the sunshine and watching the dogs in the yard.  Thankful.

I am late always but before the really hot weather sets in I like baking so I made fresh blueberry muffins today. I treated Rebekah to one with some scrambled eggs. They were so yummy with the blueberries bursting.  Thankful

A little humor I could relate too. This poor bear looks exhausted! I feel like that somedays.

Jesus and Tea Tyme makes me happiest!

Sparks

A Sparks just because:

" The really unhappy person leaves undone what they can do, and starts doing what they don't understand; no wonder they come to grief." I don't have a source but it really caught my eye, considering the ways of our world today.

Happy Tuesday

 Happy Tuesday

A Happy Tuesday to everyone! A collage of us from Easter 2022. It was a wonderful time. Today, I switched my blog posts up. I did not sleep Sunday night so I barely posted Monday's Aw...Mondays at My Tata's Cottage. I thought I would put up my Happy Tuesday post here.

Maxine has a serious attitude but I think it was easier to delete blogs that no longer exist or people you no longer have much in common with. I have come across a few old bloggers who took a serious hatweful turn and there is no way to delete them. If you have the old google button to friend/unfriend people that is easy but otherwise.....I would like to delete many old blogs that no longer blog . This blogger is getting cheaper and cheaper. No spell check, nothing. It has been frustrating but I do not like ads and don't want to pay huge amounts of money considering the shape our country is in. Everything has become so expensive, I do not have extra money for these kind of things. So I will avoid the ones that still pop up that have become so anti American. I was raised to respect everyone and I remember my dad saying if you went over to Canada to watch a baseball game always be respectful and honor their flag. .

I hope you have  a wonderful new week.  I am happy that I did get some rest earlier today. But it is hard getting into the swing of the day when you are sleep deprived. Hoping for sweet dreams .

Feline Friday and Pink Saturday

 FELINE FRIDAY

This was too cute not to share but I could not remove the annoying black background. That is usually me when we are watching a movie. One eye closed, hahaha.

Pink Saturday I don' t have this Precious Moments girl who says "Have your cake and eat it too." Isn't she pretty in pink?

Wishing each one of you many beautiful Easter blessings.

Always good to have a prayer. Heading out to my mammogram and bone density. I will be by to visit later.

Thankful Thursday

A shout out to my cousin Ce's husband Mr. Tom Sanders, who was my Earth Science teacher in 1971 when I was transferred to Central High School after the Catholic schools closed. He gave me an interest in science that I never had before. He was fresh out of college and a soft spoken gentleman. I Learned a lot from him. For that I am very thankful.

Please visit

Although lupini beans are more from the Italian culture, I learned to love these little tasty snack treats when I was a kid. Mount Carmel Catholic Church in my hometown had an annual Summer Bazaar. You could buy a cup of these for a quarter. ah...those were the days. I usually buy these at Lulu's Farmers Market in Brighton, Colorado these days but since I can not get there until this weekend, I ordered a jar from amazon.com I grew up on this stuff and still love it today. Very thankful for my knowledge of my own heritage, my husband's Irish heritage on his dad's side and my aunt, my dad's oldest sister, who catered weddings, political events and all the banquets when I was a kid. She married an Italian man and therefore I learned so much about good Italian food.  Thankful for all those I loved who have left this old earth.

The lazy Mister Kitty says good morning everyone. He has several spots where he prefers his lounging and this is one of them. Thankful for his company, no matter that no one else cares much for him. He keeps my feet extra warm in the cold months so I will keep him around and continue to lavish lots of love and good food and cold water for him to enjoy. Thankful.

TUESDAY

 Happy Tuesday

A case of the torn smoker cover.

This squirrel may be happy but I was miffed as he must be the culprit that tore the smoker cover to shreds! He sits outside my bedroom window at the same time each day. I am guessing he likes to taunt me with his quick moves and ornery nature!

This squirrel is nosey and very busy. He likes staring at me from my bedroom window.  He seems to be quite HAPPY!

Maxine shares her opinions everywhere. She is a favorite here. That poor little dog!

I love tea and sharing tea time info here makes me smile and it makes me very HAPPY!

Stop by to see the folks that participate in the blog hops here.  Happy Tuesday to you!

Feline Friday

I don't have a photo of Thackery, but my friend Anne in Texas lost her sweet boy. She and her husband adopted him from a reputable shelter but his condition was not fully disclosed. Tens of thousands of dollars later, they did everything they could to take care of this precious boy. He was the child they could never have. The few years he was their phamily,. he had a very good life. He had the run of the house. He was the king of his castle. She is so broken. Please say a prayer for her. With the loss of Ellen's sweet boy Sammy, I like to think those two are enjoying running free at the Rainbow Bridge, free of pain and suffering.

Please visit Feline Friday

Rebekah and Hannah lost a dear friend, Ryan to stomach cancer. He would have turned 34 years old one day after Rebekah in June this year. He is survived by his wife Taylor and a loving phamily. That is a wicked disease. My grandmother passed away from it. I saw what it does to a person and I was still a child.  My mom's youngest sister was in her early fifties when that dreadful disease took her life . My friend Chris lost her husband  Martin, at age 33 also and he left her too soon with two young children. Pray for Ryan's loved ones please.

Nick found out his track coach from Cowley College passed away from ALS.  Coach Phillips was inducted into the Kansas Athletic Hallof Fame in 2020. He had just retired and was looking forward to new phamily  times with his loved ones. Here are some photos from Nick's track and field days with the Cowley Tigers:

Nick's favorite memory of the Coach was the itenirary he would create. That is Coach Phillips on the far left of the photo at the bottom.  He would say you have to be on the bus at 6:28 A.M. Nick did not believe it until he saw two kids walking to the bus at that time and the Coach told the driver to pull away. He taught them respect and how to be timely and how to keep their grades up so they would never be kicked off the team. They never were late and they never lost their spot on the team! He took them to NYC to run indoor track at the Armory in March 2013 as we were blessed to go there with Jeremy, Hannah and Avery and myself. What a wonderful trip that was .

I still have my Cowley Tigers shirt.

Some pink cheerfulness after I shared sadness today. I hope you have a blessed and beautiful weekend. We are grateful we at least are back on line without interuption.  Now to get a Direct TV box for Nick so he may watch his programs.
