HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year to all! I love these lil Love is...cartoons and this one was too cute to pass on! 2014 was an interesting year and I am praying that 2015 will be even better. I wish you good health and lots of blessings. If you are someplace where it is cold stay warm! I am already longing for Springtime!
My very favorite baseball quote.
Whether you like a little cheer cold or warm or hot enjoy this evening and please be safe.
Fitting Scripture for the New Year. I love reading the bible and plan to increase my time in the Word of God next year. I know we make lots of resolutions and rarely keep them but this one and more walking and running (if my knees hold up) will help pull me out of this funk I have been in.
I wish for more people to step forward and stop bullying. Having been bullied in the workplace, I know too well how it makes a person feel.
Kindness goes a long way. Something as simple as a smile, a pleasant word, a small gift, those are ways to share the kindness in your heart.
I will read more books this year. I love to read so it isn't difficult to pick up a book and start reading.

I wish you all a beautiful New Year. I hope you have many blessings and lots of good health. Now I am off to read a book!

Love is.../Blue Monday

Love is...sweet! Now that I have been out of work for a while I like to have company in the evenings. Ah........
Kansas postcard with a pretty windmill. During our last visit to Kansas I missed 17 shots of windmills. Argh....So I bought this postcard and I like the blue/gray sky in the background.

My mother use to can applesauce and tomato sauce. I have never done any canning but have thought about it. At pinterest I found these pretty blueberries. The blog title is rural revolution and this blogger was canning blueberries. So pretty and the recipe was easy enough. Hmmm.....

We are dipping into the low single digits and the snow is brutal and cold and really not much fun at all. I had to share one more Love is... The lil cartoon gal has on a blue scarf. I wanted to share with Sally and all the Blue Crew.

Hope you liked my choice of blues today. Enjoy your week and if you are where it is cold and bitter outside stay warm and safe.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND MAY GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The Policeman's Prayer

I borrowed this from a site www.angelfire.com/mo/greendragon1/I think what is happening with our law enforcement is absolutely sinful. We can not condemn all law enforcement because of specific incidents that occur. Often people do not know all the facts. I feel like God is our true judge and each one will be judged according to their own life. I hope everyone will pray for our law enforcement.  After the horrible tragedy in NYC this weekend. One of the downed officers was newly married and the other one had a 13 year old son. Life is difficult. I am counting down the days til Christmas.Always such a thrill to be with the phamily. But I have so much to do around my house. Not enough hours in the day! Have a beautiful week.

Love is.../Blue Monday

I am a Merry Christmas kinda gal but this Love is..was too cute to pass on! We may have some snow for Christmas Day.

This is my Nativity from Avon (1981). I have had this little shelf for a long while. I set the angel plate near my Nativity and of course, my hubby's picture of The Lord, New American Standard Bible
"So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. He has carried with this him since he was in high school and it has graced our front doorway since we married in 1984. Only the angel is sharing her blue today.
We had a lovely lunch with the phamily at Casa Bonita after church today. There was plenty of blue everywhere. I just wish the Christmas lights were showing up here! The child in the photo was watching the cliff divers.
Noelle and Roger and they are both wearing blue. Her shirt is a Dallas Cowboy t shirt that says "Real Women Like the Dallas Cowboys!

We were not wearing blue, but we had a great time with the kids.
Casa Bonita's Nativity was lovely. I am always happy when I see them. After all, Christmas is a celebration of Christ's birth.
Rebekah and Zach (blue shirt) had a great time too. We have celebrated many birthdays at Casa Bonita when the kids were small.
Jeremy with Brittany and her daughter Addy. The photo bomber was wearing blue! LOL! But Addy had a fairy doll and a stuffed toy, also in blue!
Nick and Colton had fun running thru the cave here and enjoying the food and atmosphere. Nick's sweatshirt has a bit of blue in it.
I hope each and everyone of you has a wonderful Christmas and I will be visiting you soon. Stop by Sally's and visit some blues.

Ugly Sweater Day

Troy's ugly Christmas sweater.

Matt's ugly sweater. These two handsome fellows are my nephews and their dad Aaron is so talented. He designed these sweaters and created them for their "Ugly Christmas Sweater Day" at school. Now I am often offended by Ugly Sweater parties. I love my Christmas sweater and even my Halloween  sweater! I think it is so much fun to get into the holiday spirit with fun and quirky sweaters. Troy's sweater depicts the pink bunny pjs that Ralphie received from his aunt in the beloved Christmas classic, A Christmas Story along with his dad's winning "trophy" the leg lamp! Matt's sweater reminds me of me of the mad wrapping we do and searching for the supplies! Although our children are grown and we now do a Secret Santa CHristmas gift exchange the memories make me smile.
I thought I would add this i phone shot I snapped while taking my hubby to the bus station this week. Look at the pink coloring in that sunrise. I have always marveled at the artistic hand of God since I was a small child. Each day I look into the sky and I marvel at His wonder and beauty.

I hope you will join Beverly and some Pinkies for a fun filled festive weekend of Pink Saturday!

"E" is for Excitement and Everything Related to Christmas Magic

I am getting "excited" for Christmas. It is such a magical time of the year. I was raised to honor Our Lord and we celebrate the holiday in His name. This year I am hoping I can order a cake which will celebrate Jesus and his birthday. I was over "extended" for Thanksgiving so I am not doing that again! I have not participated in Alphabe Thursday for a while. I love everyone who participates and I really love Miss Jenny and Mr. Jenny too. So today I am celebrating the letter "E" and sharing my "excitement" for the birth of Our Lord.
I love these little Love is...cartoons. This one caught my eye today and although it is not related to the letter "E" it shows my "excitement" for the holiday.
Do you ever feel like Snoopy? It looks like Woodstock tangled him in the lights! Silly bird! The season is such a magical time and it means so much to me to spend it with those I love best.
This is a big part of the phamily who will start our celebration week Sunday at Casa Bonita. Only Nick is missing from my immediate phamily in this photo. Plus we add Christal and  her phamily of four and we have 21 including Brittany and her daughter and Bret and Zach to join in the festivities.
Do you
celebrate the "excitement" with good ole Saint Nick? Or Santa?
Will you share your faith?
So much glass in my china hutch it is hard to catch a great shot of my Holy Family Nativity. My hubby bought this for me for my birthday. They are under my Princess house cloche and a small bird sits on top. It is a beautiful hand blown cloche.

Another one of my Nativity sets given to me by Theresa, a woman I use to work with. It is so lovely I was shocked that she did not want it.
The light inside my little hutch shelf is so bright I could not get a good shot. The Teak Wood Nativity is dark wood so without the light you can not see it. An Angel plate sits behind them. A young lady I worked with at an insurance co. years ago gave her to me and told me she felt I was a very spiritual woman.
Two tiny porcelain dolls dressed in green and red are showing off three of my pretty Christmas tea cups. I can not find a December tea cup set and it makes me sad. The little girl in red holds a pillow that says "Tea Time."
I was in a Secret Santa Swap last year with Suzanne and my partner gave me that cute Spode tea for one tea pot. My daughter Rebekah found the tea for one Snowman for me and my little vintage angel holds a harp  and has holly in her hair. My tiny Santa village is cute with it's tiny red picket fence.

I hope each one of you will visit Jenny and the AT participates. I hope Christmas "excites" you as much as it does me.

Have a wonderful week, it's nearly the reason for the season:

Love is.../Blue Monday

I had to chuckle when I saw this Love is....my hubby just smiles when he sees me eyeing something new and fun and collectible! He is priceless to me.
I will share lots of Merry Christmas wishes before the big day. This one is so pretty, from Sandie. She posted this one at Face Book but her blog is sweet and funny and always filled with wonderful encouraging and sometime silly stuff.
I L O V E angels! My late Auntie Ang had a wonderful collection of angels of all sizes and styles. I wish I had her angel collection. This was shared by Pamela Cessna Kuhn at Face Book. I like this sentiment.

I hope you visit Sally and all the blues today. I am running late. Had my mammo this morning and arrived late. Everyone was late. The traffic was horrendous and everything went smoothly. I went to bed last night with a major headache so I did not rest well and when I had to get up so early, ugh! So I am trying to catch Sally and the blue crew before she takes the linky down.

Enjoy your week.

Christmas is Coming

I don't like not having a job! Because I just am not a wealthy person! People are always telling me, just retire! Well, it is not that easy! So I am having a hard time handling being out of work! So I indulge myself by rooting through our garage and shed. I found a box of Christmas today! I love s/p shakers! These snowmen are so cute and it made me smile to fill them up for the upcoming Christmas holiday!
I found this lil tree with a burlap base last year for 75 cents! The plaid bows were 44 cents! It looks sweet sitting in the middle of my dining table.
Oh I L O V E anything with tea! This Avon sale music box in a tea cup has a sweet lil phamily on the saucer! I remember buying it last year for a great sale price and this is the first time I am going to display it.
Princess House use to carry a beautiful Christmas line of  wonderful holiday items. This tall angel is magnificent! She is so pretty and I wish I had a better photo to share! The rotund Santa was a birthday gift from Monica who worked with me for a long time. I love all my Christmas treasures.
The design on this hand blown PH angel is a patented design exclusive to the company. She is also very lovely and my photo is not showing her beauty!
This PH Santa holds a holiday plate which looks like a peppermint candy! You can add a few treats for Santa to this plate. See Santa's friend the lil penguin hiding beneath that plate?
Trader Joe's had a great deal on wreaths and this one graces our front door. It is simple but pretty. I have such an allergy to trees so I have to have this one outdoors.
Laughing Out Loud! I sent this to my sis Mary! It's true, I am the good one! Ha Ha Ha~
Our tree is tall, 7.5 feet high. The angel is hard to photograph because she lights up. But we used 100 ornaments and thirty bows.  I am having fun being home but I would like to have an income rolling in. Life is tough and I am trying to make the best of it.

I will share more photos tomorrow. Have a great evening.
