THE ROYAL BOUQUET

Welcome to Pink Saturday. I know romance is in the air. The royal wedding today took our minds off our troubles for a few hours and I personally felt that the royal couple created a beautiful, elegant magical wedding. From the dress to her hair style and William mouthing "You're beautiful" as she turned to be at his side in the beginning of the wedding ceremony, these young royals showed us they were wonderfully elegant and classy. The bouquet was simple. I thought she was quite thoughtful  adding the Sweet William blooms to her bouquet.  Kate also carried the simple and fragrant lily- of- the- valley along with a sprig of myrtle tucked in (for good luck) and hyacinth. The myrtle was planted by Queen Victoria in 1845 and Kate kept with royal tradition by adding it to her simple but beautiful bouquet.
I am heading over to Aunt Snow who Beverly featured today. I try to catch a new pinkie or two each week and I try my hardest to visit as many of the pinkies as I can. Enjoy your royal weekend. We are anticipating snow.
Please check my sidebar for my latest button addition. Head over to Primitive and Folk Artists- PAFA for a grand giveaway! You will not be disappointed. Just mention that I sent you over. I love to share goodies with everyone/

love the pictures of the wedding! It was so beautiful and elegant. I should have gotten up to see it, but I had finally fallen asleep, I just couldn't do it. I am watching the 20/20 special though and it is great.

Got up so as NOT to miss this beautiful elegant wedding. So refreshing from the normal stodgy english royalty ones ... the kids were cute glancing & chatting back & forth. Dreamy gown of pure class.

Sent you something in the mail, sweetie. Let me know when it arrives ... hope it helps your friends.

TTFN ~
Have a wonderful PS weekend ~
Hugs & love,
Marydon

Hi Anne :) Yes pipe cleaners work great, that is what I use. You can wrap two together like a candy cane in whatever colors you like, or wrap them in crepe paper or ribbon, or just leave plain. Cant wait to see what you make !!!! Hugs :) :)

Happy Pink Saturday to you as well Anne and thank you for stopping by to visit. Thank you also for sharing a close up of the boquet - I read somewhere that it was also a tribute to Diana's boquet with sweet william and lily of the valley...

Happy Pink Saturday Sweetie...
I love this post. I didn't know all the information surrounding the bouquet so thank you for sharing with me. I especially love that she tucked Sweet William in there as well. Such class. These two are bringing a whole new breath of fresh air to the royal family, I truly believe that.

Yes, I too was up at 1am to watch the beautiful wedding. SO many hats, I was in heaven watching the guests arrive. I couldn't wait for the magical moment when royalty started arriving. It was so much fun.

Hope you and the family are well sweet one. I think of you daily. Have a glorious weekend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Anne, thank you for stopping by. Yes, join me for a blog book club. As I posted I am changing our first book to Sense & Sensibility. As we live not TOO far form one another, what say you to a celebratory tea once we finish the book? We can discuss it while sipping tea and nibbling delicacies. Let your friends know.

I have not watched the wedding except for a bit of it as yet, but what I saw was very lovely. It was sweet of him to tell her that she was beautiful! New beginnings, just like Spring!

Hello Anne~
Thank you for dropping by ~ I am so excited to recieve the Heirloom Gardener Magazine from Baker Creek! It will be fun to try seed saving techniques!
My yard is ugly and we have lived here for over 30 years! I'm sure mine will never be the way I envision it, but it is the journey that makes life fun!
I was quite impress with 'The Wedding', too! I loved the thought Kate put into many of the 'small' things ~ like the Sweet William in her bouquet, and the floral symbolism in the lace of her gown. My disappointment with it all is that they lived together for 4 years before getting married! :~{
But I am glad he made an 'honest' woman of her. Hopefully, it will last.
It was a great distraction from all the calamity happening everywhere!
Blessings!

Did not watch the wedding, but have looked at many beautiful photos on blogs since. However, have not seen a closeup of the bouquet until your blog. Very elegant in its simplicity. Kate was a beautiful bridge and is very elegant and stylish. Loved all the blogs about the "hats" and truly do not know how some of those hats stayed on heads. Since I love all hats was fascinated by the ones at the wedding. (pictures I had seen after, lol) Thank you for sharing the one photo I had not seen yet. Blessings.
